QUESTIONNAIRE*
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Very few circumstances, only when the life of the Mother or child are compromised, rape or incest. My professed faith holds that the sanctity of life is sacred.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Agree
ALL 'drugs' should meet essential safety standards. Chemical abortion drugs should be rarely administered, ONLY under the care of a medical doctor and and ONLY in the circumstance when the life of the mother or child are compromised, rape or incest. My professed faith holds that the sanctity of life is sacred.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
My professed faith holds that the sanctity of life is sacred. Abortion providers should never be recipients of taxpayer anything.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
My professed faith holds that the sanctity of life is sacred. I do not support 'aid in dying' laws.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Government should not have any right to close our churches. Freedom of religion and the right to assemble are bedrock principles in the US Constitution. The revolutionary war was fought to ensure those rights. Those rights must be defended today.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Like freedom of religion and the right to assemble, freedom of speech is meant for everyone, even those who will not abandon their own conscience while being forced or coerced to adopt a preferred message/socially acceptable message instead, This is fundamental Freedom of Speech principle and must be protected and defended. I strongly disagree that a person in the USA should be made to violate strongly held moral or religious beliefs.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
CCP has been waging war against the USA and other free people for many years now. The Chinese Belt and Road initiative established more than a decade ago seeks to counter the influence of the United States and other industrialized countries. Currently, China seeks to replace the USD as the world settlement currency. None of this has been good for USA. Jobs and whole industries have been lost. US is at the mercy of China for generic drugs It is time to reverse it. Let's start in Texas.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Israel is an ally of the US and a reliable friend to the US in the Middle East, where the US doesn't have that many friends. For this reason and many more, the relationship is important. The United States stands with Israel and we 'Pray for the peace of Jerusalem'.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
B. A functioning government doing the things government is supposed to do, will provide a 'safety net' for those less fortunate or those falling on hard times. The 'safety net' cannot become a hammock, where the able bodied languish. I believe in adequate and sufficient government options that are temporary for able bodied people. Aging and indigent will need to rely on government benefits. This makes everything more expensive including healthcare. Texans want less government, not more.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
No one should mandate for anyone to take a vaccine. People know what is best for them. Parents know what is best for children. A number of vaccines promoted today are perceived as dangerous by many. Individual decisions must be respected.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Private property rights are eroding in Texas and across this country. Now is not a time for political silence. Organizations such as American Stewards of Liberty are dedicated to protecting private property rights, defending the use of our land, and restoring local control. I follow organizations like this because they have taken a stand against destructive government action that seeks to harm Texas. Texans want less government NOT more government intrusion.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
We must seek to make life in Texas more affordable and offer opportunities to earn a living wage. This starts with reducing government spending and ultimately inflation. I remember a time when real wages were increasing. Let's get back to that.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
Social and environmental constructs, like ESG ratings, do nothing to encourage innovation or expand markets. These concepts are just the heavy hand of government placing a damper on an economies ability to thrive and prosper all citizens. I am convinced that Texans want less government NOT more government.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
It's an invasion at the southern border-per public records, over 6.2m illegal border crossers in 2023 alone. Crossers whose names appear on the terrorist watchlist have been stopped trying to cross the US-Mexico border between ports of entry. What about those that made it through? CBP arrested 35,433 in 2023, with criminal convictions or outstanding warrants. Texas is at an impasse with the Feds. Feds refuse to take action. There are other tools, Texas can use. Texas must do more, now.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
Texas parents are concerned about the 'strings' attached to vouchers. Rural communities are concerned about losing a major employer in the community, should children leave public education in rural areas. These are real concerns and must be addressed and considered in whatever takes place. I am a strong advocate for the $$ following the child and I will consider Texan's real concerns as mentioned and others. In the meantime, I advocate to pass legislation immediately.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Police departments should be fully funded to perform law enforcement and protect citizens and citizen's property. Community programs should be administered by community leaders, organizations and churches. Primary functions are not the same and are at odds in many ways. Policeman are not daycare providers. Cops should be cops and focus on protecting and serving,
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The right to bear arms is afforded to us in the Constitution. The Constitution does not stipulate restrictions on gun ownership. I believe public safety is served by a good guy with a gun.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
Teachers should be given the choice to carry guns while at school. Those that choose should be properly licensed and qualified in firearms training. Teachers that are trained will be a tremendous asset to their school and to their community.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Government is BY the people, FOR the people. The Declaration of Independence says - 'That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men . . . .” People establish governments in order to ensure that their rights are guaranteed and protected. That is the stated purpose of government. But we see something very different today. A government that doesn't REPRESENT us, but actually RESENTS the very people that it should serve! Let's change that. We can and we will.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I am a steadfast Conservative, in favor of limited government. I believe Texas and Texans want less government in their lives, not more. I will push back on federal overreach and stand against censorship of Texas voices. Using every tool Texas has available to stop the border invasion will be top of my list and protecting parents rights a close 2nd. I will fight to restore faith in the Texas version of the American dream.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
This is such an area of controversy right now. I view the mutilation of a child, including for purposes of gender modification, as child abuse and would like to see the practice and gender industry outlawed.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
Parents know what is best for their minor children. Any medical procedure that will permanently harm or change a child, that is not medically necessary to save the life of the child should be postponed until the child is old enough to make the decision as an adult. I have some concerns about Parents sponsoring gender modification for a minor child.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Not only should taxpayer funds be disallowed, employer's group insurance should not pay for gender transition services. Get the money out of this destructive industry and reason will surface once again.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
The God of the Bible made marriage between a man and a woman. Civil unions are legal arrangements between two people that provides state-level legal protections. It's not the marriage ordained by GOD but a civil partnership is an alternative and an accepted practice between two people.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
As a devout Christian, I seek to serve others with humility and integrity. We attend our church faithfully and volunteer for service at our church. Through my service to the church and in my career, I have learned that everyone is better off when we listen to each other and empower people to take action. My worldview is based on Biblical principles and teaching found in the Word of God. The Bible is my 'go to' book. The Holy Spirit is my Senior Advisor. I pray and study my Bible every day. My professed faith holds that the sanctity of life is sacred. I am not perfect, but the Son of a loving God IS perfect. His name is Jesus and He died so that I might have a personal daily walk with Him. I am blessed beyond measure and redeemed.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
A person is required to show personal identification to check out a library book, at airport to travel, to rent a car....showing valid photo identification to exercise your sacred vote should be a minimal requirement and is not an inconvenience.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
The founders of the USA observed that straight popular vote (50%+1) would concentrate control and authority in high population centers to the destruction and detriment of the population that did not reside in those dense areas. The Electoral College is a genius concept that will keep the union of the US strong for the next 250 years.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. Race in America is a sensitive topic and the USA has shown tremendous progress correcting the wrongs of the past and offering opportunities for all. I do think that there are those that would use issues of race to divide Americans and divide Texans. We should push back against those people by focusing on the opportunities. There is a reason why people from other countries come to the US to seek prosperity. It is because a great wealth of opportunity exists in our country. Focus on that.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Race in America is a sensitive topic and the USA has shown tremendous progress correcting the wrongs of the past. CRT seeks to re-write large parts of US history as we know it. I strongly disagree with what CRT seeks to do. It is destructive and should be stopped.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Biological males are not in any way, shape, matter or form female. They are stronger, generally faster and have known physical characteristics that put them at an athletic advantage over females the same age and even height or size. In contact sports, biological males could potentially hurt a female they are competing with. This is a mockery of women's sports which women have fought so hard to establish and it must be stopped.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
A. I continue to believe Texas and Texans want less government, not more. I remember a time, only a few years ago, when the regulatory burden had been curtailed, wages were on the rise, industries were making moves back to the US and energy and inflation were lowest cost in decades. Let's do THAT again. Let's start in Texas.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Fossil Fuel - oil and natural gas - is plentiful and the US has a developed a proven process to utilize. Other 'sustainable' energy sources aren't that sustainable....solar doesn't work when the sun doesn't shine, wind when wind doesn't blow.
