QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

Making sure the parents are involved. Provide the parents all the support that you can provide to the family because it is a family that is in crisis at this time.

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Competition makes the product, idea, person better. Yes it is hard, but things worthwhile are hard.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I do not believe the Federal Government should be involved, this is a state and local issue.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

If a teacher has a problem providing the required instruction, then the teacher should resign and pursue an alternative career. If the issue came about due to change after the teacher was hired, then the system should help the teacher transition to another career.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender transitioning providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

This is not a public school function. This is a parental function. If the parent asks, then referral to where these services are available can be provided.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

Consistency in everything creates an orderly learning environment

Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?

Yes

Parents deserve the opportunity to review. If public tax dollars are paying for the materials, then public review should be provided. However, there must be an orderly process to challenge, question that is also publicly provided.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

If we do not teach our children to love this country, then they will hate it. They are our future.

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Strongly Disagree

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

If a member of the public flags (challenges) a book as inappropriate and the school board disagrees, should the board impose a moratorium on when the book can be challenged again? If yes, for how long?

I'd love to say no there should be no moratorium; however, there will be those that want to challenge it every meeting. So what about in general no, there should not be a moratorium; however, if a member of the public becomes a bother preventing the board from operating, then a moratorium (for all, not just the one) can and should be considered if agreement cannot be reached. I unfortunately witnessed this last year attending the board meetings

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

English (Language Arts), American History, Civics, Mathematics, Science, Physical Fitness, Art (to include theater) & Music, Vocational Learning, Personal Finances, Foreign Language

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

I believe a strong public educational system is necessary; however, school choice is a must - it promotes competition which makes for a better learning institution.

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

Equality of opportunities

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

Do not believe Sex Education belongs in schools - If the board is going to vote this in, then opt-in

Who should make decisions about whether or not a book is appropriate for children? A) the elected school board members; B) an outsourced community committee

In NC, by law the elected school board members do. However, it would be wise to form a committee of community members to support the board in doing this job, providing recommendations and options for consideration.

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. on the third day He rose from the dead; he ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of sins, the resurrection of the body and life ever lasting. I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord and Master.

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

If sexual education is taught in schools, what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

I am assuming this question is for K-12 and not college. I believe that only those subjects you want students to explore, try, experiment with, further study, and more should be taught. Sex is for the parents to teach. Yes there is the argument that many parents will not do this. Man kind has survived for many millennium with the parents in charge of their children. Parents are the best to do this.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Strongly Agree

I believe this with all my soul. I also believe this is between the person and God. There are other beliefs, have been all the way back to the time of Genesis. God will intervene and it is correctly His to do.

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

period.

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree

period

School children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming including drag shows and explicit materials with pictures of sex acts and graphic language.

Strongly Agree

Should schools be giving instruction on how to engage in sexual acts, the pleasures of sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity or should they instead focus on educating students about the science of reproduction?

Absolutely not for giving instruction on sexual acts and more. Reproductive health is a basic part of biology and that is appropriate.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

no

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

no

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

2ND AMENDMENT

The right to bear arms is fundamental and must be protected.

Strongly Agree

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

Strongly Disagree

The recent COVID shutdown was a disaster. This must not be repeated again. Services, critical services to include medical, were withheld due to an unreasonable fear.
