RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Choose not to answer

I don't think there is such thing as a "safe" abortion drug. Abortion drugs shouldn't be available to the public and should only be used by a medical professional to save a mother's life if the baby cannot be safely delivered.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

The only moral case is when the mother's life is at risk. Rape and incest are horrible. But killing a baby does not right another wrong.

Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?

I believe it would be appropriate and necessary for the federal government to ban the medical practice of abortion. That being said, I would not support a ban that gives the federal government power to monitor, surveil, or pry into the lives of women who may be pregnant or of child-bearing age. I do not want to see women who may suffer a miscarriage be accused of aborting a baby and then tried as felons.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Church leaders may not exert any form of command authority over elected officials' decision making. That being said, I think faith is an essential element of our society, and every elected official should lean on their personal faith to inform their decision making.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C. We need to reform our foreign policy and alliances to be more practical and less philosophical or traditional. We cannot afford to be funding or fighting every conflict in the world. We cannot control every country's system of government. Some cultures and societies have evolved over Millinia to be wholly incompatible with western thought and democratic values. We need clear, measurable, sustainable, and achievable foreign policy objectives when we get involved overseas.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

No, Israel is a sovereign country with a thriving economy, and it can defend itself. It is not a member of the United States. Iran is belligerent towards the United States because of U.S. support for Israel. The United States needs to back out of the Middle East entirely and let those countries sort out their issues.

What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?

Having just led infantry troops in the last year, I can tell you that forcing social issues and the woke-agenda into the military has seriously degraded morale. These young riflemen joined the service to become the greatest warriors in the history of mankind. When they see the Army's commercials advertising to recruit transgender activists, it makes these young men feel like the Army overall isn't as tough and that their jobs don't matter or are too easy to attain.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Never. Personal health information is private. The government has a duty to inform the public so citizens can make their own health decisions, but it may not mandate anything.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Veterans and the elderly who have a qualifying income level/net worth should be eligible for government funded or subsidized healthcare. Working-aged people should not have access to government funded healthcare.

ECONOMY

What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?

Lower taxes, simplify the tax code, put tax responsibility on everyone who enters our country, less government regulation, and America First trade policies.

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Strongly Agree

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

I love our planet and feel called to be a good steward of its resources and beauty, but the environment agenda has become hypocritical and economically debilitating. When it comes to social issues, scoring government and business based on promoting certain social lifestyles, race, mental illness is degrading our society.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anyone with a determined minimum level of English proficiency, who registers to pay taxes, and follows the established immigration process to enter the country legally.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

We are a homeschool family. I do not want the government telling me how to educate my kids or what to teach them.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

I support this 100%.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The federal government is charged with protecting the 2nd amendment, not regulating it. Any regulation on this matter should be done at the state level. Bad people are going to find a way to get guns and do bad things whether laws are passed or not. People kill people. I do not believe regulating gun ownership will make a measurable impact on crime. Instead, we need to divert the funds used to regulate guns to local police departments so they can hire more peace officers and pay them better.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.

Strongly Disagree

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

"Establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity" - U.S. Constitution

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

VALUES

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I do not believe that the U.S. Constitution specifically protects gay marriage. However, I also do not believe the U.S. Constitution has the right to prosecute two consenting adults who want to form a civil union under the law. People should be free to live how they wish as long as they aren't harming others.

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

This is disturbing that we even need to talk about this. This is why the federal government needs to get out of education and stop social scoring businesses.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Gender dysphoria is a mental illness. Suicide is a mental illness too. Should tax dollars be used to assist people in killing themselves? No. The same answer applies to gender mutilation.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jesus Christ is my hero, master, and king. I strive to emulate him and live like he did in everything that I do. I believe we are all spiritual children of a loving Heavenly Father. I pray to my Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, his son, to know what I should do in all my life decisions. He does not always give me a clear answer and expects me to use the experience and wisdom he has blessed me with to make a judgement call. He gave us this mortal experience to refine us through challenges. I believe that God is real, and that knowledge informs everything that I do.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Disagree

EQUALITY

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Agree

Being a good steward of God's Earth and its natural resources is important for me. However, much of the climate agenda is hypocritical. I think the most productive environment regulation should occur at the state level.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Today, it's probably coal. Everything we do is going to have some kind of by-product or inefficiency. I think a diverse portfolio of energy sources is the best protection against market and geopolitical volatility.
