QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

The school's role should be to continue to provide an environment of safety and sound education to the student. They should also be prepared to direct the student to the proper resources in the community that will allow her the knowledge she needs to obtain proper physical and mental care so that she may continue to focus on her education. If applicable according to what the school has the ability to provide, a crisis counselor could aid in directing the student to the right resources as well as include her family to discuss the support she will need to further her education during her pregnancy, and leaving it up to the family to discuss more personal matters concerning the situation.

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

It is a proven fact through science that human life begins at conception. A fetus growing into a baby begins to form a brain stem and heartbeat as early as 4-6 weeks post embryo implantation. I believe strongly that a child in a mother's womb is a human life that deserves legal protection. As can be proven from hundreds of double homicide cases, judges have ruled against defendants who have committed the murder of pregnant women that two lives were lost. I do not see an argument against this.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

My position is based upon the type of government providing the funding. I believe that it should be up to the states to make policy and implentation strategy regarding where and how much funding is going to the many districts throughout the state. When we talk about federal government funding, we sometimes find that attached to the funds are stipulations that may not apply to all districts, or that districts do not need or approve of.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

A curriculum should not mandate a religious belief over another. There are religion units or religious based teachings that do not and should not violate one's religious stance, as the purpose of education is to teach one to critically think for themself, and come up with their own conclusions. Forcing anyone to teach directly against what is written in the constitution as their right also inhibits student's learning experience. They should not be told what to believe or what to think.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender transitioning providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Disagree

Schools are provided counselors and crisis consultants through an allotted budget that aids to facilitate the services. There is no need for third party providers when schools have already been given these resources. Nonprofit organizations should be encouraged to leave materials at the school allowing families to decide if they would like to use that resource. Families should be made aware of what is being provided for their students and deem it appropriate or not.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Agree

Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?

Yes

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Agree

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Disagree

Diversity is more than skin deep and to teach otherwise is to take away from education and instill unnecessary controversy and confusion. Equality of opportunites outweighs the socialist concept of equity of outcomes. Everyone is given an opportunity, though some may be more disenfranchised than others, we cannot "take credit" for another's work. Mental health care spaces should be provided in schools without affirming what goes against science and creation, and includes the student's family.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

If a member of the public flags (challenges) a book as inappropriate and the school board disagrees, should the board impose a moratorium on when the book can be challenged again? If yes, for how long?

This is a catch-22 as I would need to read and be clear on the policy of implementing a moratorium for the type of material in question. The book could be offensive to someone because it's Uncle Tom's Cabin, or it could be obscene material for explicit language or sexuality. I would need to know the extent as to why the board disagrees on the material before making a clear decision on this question. I believe policy is key and should be used often as a guide to decision making by the board.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Language Arts, Mathematics, American History, Science, Vocational Learning, Art & Music, Foreign Language, Information Technology, Civics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Social Emotional Learning (only if applied within the boundaries of educating for the purposes of developing social skills that couple with learning successful life skills, and not focusing on one another's abilities to do so according to "cultural and societal" norms ie race, gender, religion etc.)

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

Equality of opportunities

Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.

A.) Opt-In

Who should make decisions about whether or not a book is appropriate for children? A) the elected school board members; B) an outsourced community committee

I would like to see the policy regarding who decides the appropriateness of books as not every school board is the same. I would believe it would be policy for the school board to make a decision and then a separate policy as to whether or not a community committee is necessary.

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I believe the Bible is the greatest book ever inspired by God to men with instructions that should lead us in our daily lives. I believe the words of the Bible from front to back. I am Christian Conservative who follows the constitution as it is written, and not as people like to redefine it for today. The constitution is our nation's guide to be used for making policy that considers the rights and freedoms of all and not just an elite few.

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

If sexual education is taught in schools, what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Health classes having to do with anatomy and biology should begin in middle school. Sexual Education and sexual risk avoidance classes should begin in high school.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Strongly Agree

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree

School children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming including drag shows and explicit materials with pictures of sex acts and graphic language.

Strongly Agree

Should schools be giving instruction on how to engage in sexual acts, the pleasures of sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity or should they instead focus on educating students about the science of reproduction?

This type of education is inappropriate for public school. Public school education is meant to educate students on the facts of biology, anatomy, and reproduction. This should only go as far as how life is created and the purpose of sex as reproduction, that pregnancy is likely to occur through unprotected sexual activity, and the dangers of contracting STDs. Anything further goes outside of the realm of education and tows the line of morality for minor's education. This shouldn't be allowed.
