QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

None. Life is sacred at all stages, starting at conception, and any form of abortion goes contrary to this.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Ideally, chemical abortion drugs should be banned, however, strong regulations should be put in place while it is on the market to protect the health of women taking them.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None. Government closing houses of worship of any faith goes against the First Amendment, rendering any such action unconstitutional.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Our relationship with Israel is crucial to achieving long-term peace and freedom in the Middle East. With Israel being the only democracy in the region, its existence is threatened every day by cruel autocratic and theocratic regimes surrounding it. The US must continue to support Israel, and its right to exist.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Option B closely resembles my view on health care, however, I believe government should make insurance available to those who need it. I also support adopting Medicaid expansion. Doing so could bring $5.4 billion in additional federal funds to Texas and allow the state to increase reimbursement rates for providers while reducing overarching government bureaucracy that hinders access. This would enable many to re-enter the workforce and become productive and contributing members of society.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Entities should only be able to require vaccines when long-term peer-reviewed studies have been conducted by independent organizations, demonstrating a high level of effectiveness against illnesses, with low-to-none safety risks.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I believe in raising the minimum wage gradually, over time, at least to $12.50.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

As someone who lived on the southern border for well over 10 years, I saw first-hand the issues affecting the region. CBP agents struggled to keep up with the pace and influx of drugs, and illegal immigration, causing the area along the border to be unsafe for residents. While the federal government is responsible for enforcing immigration laws, Texas must continue to do everything within its constitutional authority to protect the border.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Parents have the primary right to direct the upbringing of their children. No child learns the same way and creating a universal school choice program will empower parents to decide what educational options are best for their children, while limiting the role of government in regulating service providers (homeschool programs, private schools, therapies, tutors, etc.).

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The current restrictions are sufficient.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

I believe the general purpose of government is to establish order and provide for the general welfare of people, within the confinements of its constitutional authority.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised in a Christian household where I grew up around ministers and pastors. It was through the example of my grandparents, who pastored a church in Mexico for over 40 years, that I learned what it meant to be a leader with a servant's heart and God-driven purpose. I strongly believe God has a purpose for everyone's life here on Earth, however, it is up to us to follow Jesus Christ and seek Him to discern what it is through the help of the Holy Spirit. God doesn't force anyone, and we must show grace and love to those who don't believe the same. In my work, and because of my values, I advocate for policies affecting the lives of many, including students and their families, and amplify their voices as a way of sharing my faith.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No, I do not believe racism is a threat to domestic security. While the US has made mistakes relating to racism in its past, we have overcome many of these sentiments by increasing inclusivity at all levels in our communities. This should be our continued objective in hopes of eliminating personal biases against minority groups. Our past does not define us, but our actions today will be judged by future generations.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

Options B and C are the most closest to my views. Excessive and unnecessary regulations are detrimental to our economy, mostly hurting consumers. However, we also have a responsibility to care for our environment to ensure clean air and water are available for the next generation. I support loosening regulations to help us reach energy independence, but it shouldn't be at the cost of our health.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Currently, fossil fuels are the most reliable energy sources. At the same time, we can invest opportunities to promote scientific advances in developing alternative energy sources. We must strive to merge both realities to create a sustainable future
