QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I am a pro life conservative. I have been supportive of the actions that the Texas Legislature has done in recent sessions to protect life. I believe as codified in current state law that Life of the Mother would make a procedure necessary.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
They should not be able to.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
The Chinese Communist Party is the largest challenge on the international stage for the United States. To protect Texas families and businesses, we need to stop their intellectual property theft and their propaganda campaigns.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, The US/Isreal relationship is a special relationship that must be preserved and strengthened. They are the only democracy in the middle east in a very difficult neighborhood surrounded by enemies. We have deep historical and religious ties to Israel that must be preserved.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
They should not
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
The basis of this country is the idea that rights are endowed by the creator, not a king or a government. One of those critical rights is the right to private property.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Necessary evil. Need to be set at a reasonable standard and not increased too drastically or it will hurt businesses large and small across the nation.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
Public funds need to find the highest returns to pay for retirees and benefits that are owed. Engaging in investment with public dollars to satisfy political positions vs. highest return is contrary to the interest of the retirees and should not happen.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
The US/Mexico border is functionally inoperable. The US Govt does not control the border, nor the federales its owned and controlled by the cartels. It has been so dysfucntional that migrants from all over the world fly to south american and central america and head north. These folks know they will not be stopped or turned away at the border. We must do more to build the wall, enforce the laws, and return to the "remain in Mexico" protocols.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Agree
The discussion around public education is broken. The proponents of "union" schools continually talk about more resources but rarely mention "academic performance" or "student outcomes". Wherever a parent decides can best support the goal of academic achievement and student outcomes is where our dollars need to go.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
I have twice signed Greg Abbott's "back the blue" pledge not to defund the policy. In a post George Floyd world, we DO NOT need to be taking away resources from police, we should be giving them resources to do a very difficult job of protecting our texas communities.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I support the actions of the Texas legislature that passed constitutional carry.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
No
No, we need to increase full time, fully armed professionally trained personnel to deter threats.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To be limited and to protect the unalienable rights granted to us by our creator that are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Neutral
Parents are the legal guardians of their children. That being said, making life altering unreversable decisions for children who are incapable of speaking up for themselves is a line to far.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Church and jesus christ have always been a key part of my upbringing and of my kids.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
We need to make it easier to vote, and harder to cheat. The reality is you have to show ID to buy certain over the counter drugs, you need an ID to purchase alcohol, we can at a bare minimum require an ID to vote.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
The United States is the greatest country in the history of the world. It provides opportunities to people of all background.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
A &C
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Natural Gas
