QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Only when the mother's life is at risk or in cases of rape or incest.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I completely disagree with using any tax dollars for Planned Parenthood.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Free enterprise and the rights of property owners are the basis for our free market economy which is the best system in the world for our citizens.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I believe a minimum wage should be established for a fair entry point into the workforce. However, the government cannot establish a minimum wage that is so high that businesses cannot be profitable.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
Choose not to answer
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
There are no circumstances I would vote as an elected government official to close any churches.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Business owners' moral and religious beliefs should be protected as much as an individual's belief.
Should religious schools which accept state funds be allowed to only admit families and students who agree to adhere to their statement of faith?
Yes
The decision to attend a school is a family decision and choosing a school means they are agreeing to accept the school's statement of faith. This is regardless of government funds being used.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other tax-payer-funded program should be implemented.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Current school-age entry-level vaccinations should continue to protect children from known diseases. However, no other government-mandated vaccinations should be implemented as a condition for employment.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
I believe that the Chinese Communist Party is the biggest threat to our national security. The attacks on intellectual property undermine our society and seek to weaken our economy. Many cyber attacks have been launched against businesses in our region. By seeking to expand their military it is clear we must fund the military and technology to be read to meet these threats.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Israel is our most trusted ally in the Middle East. We must continue to support them as a democracy in the region.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
This allows parents to select the best education for their children, based on their own desires for the child(ren). I believe this actually raises the quality of education by providing choice in a free market.
VALUES
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Taxpayer funds should never be used for gender transition.
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent unless an emergency situation arises risking immediate death.
Strongly Agree
In order to protect our children, parents should be included in these situations unless a true emergency exists.
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Children are vulnerable, and abuse takes on many forms, therefore we must protect them. This can include our State schools' curriculum. Local school boards should remain empowered to ensure material taught has educational merit.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
I believe that marriage is a holy, ordained union of a man and a woman, and the government has no authority to change this.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a born-again Christian raised in a Christian home, and I have attempted to provide the same for my children and grandchildren. I have sought opportunities to serve others through my faith. I believe that every human is a special creation of God and their life is sacred. As a believer I am called to minister to those I encounter in my journey.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
Voting absentee by mail ballot should be limited to those meeting at least one of the following criteria: 1) 65 years of age or older on Election Day, 2) sick or disabled, 3) expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day, or 4) confirmed to be absent from the county of registration during voting.
Strongly Agree
Election integrity is critical to maintaining our government as a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. The mail-in ballot process lends itself to ballot harvesting and voter fraud.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is a threat to our very way of life when some person discounts another person's value because of the color of their skin. We cannot continue to grow as a Country when some among us devalue others based on race without first getting to know who they are as an individual. A house divided cannot stand.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
I disagree with the Critical Race Theory (CRT) premise and I am adamantly opposed to CRT being taught in our schools.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
There are no circumstances that this should ever be allowed to happen. It is unfair and dangerous to our female athletes on women's sports teams.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
Stricter Environmental laws sometimes undermine the United States' energy independence and deter the development of other reliable electricity sources. Many times, these stricter laws and regulations cost American jobs and actually hurt our economy.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
I believe that government exists to serve the will of the people. That is to do the things individuals cannot do alone. A fundamental function of government is for public safety, for our protection from threats. The government should ensure safety through other necessary regulations as well. We do not need government involved in every aspect of our lives. Smaller government works best for the individuals and should equate to cheaper taxes for all.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
While there are other programs that need funding, such as increased mental health, law enforcement is not where those funds should come from. These are the men and women who put their lives on the line daily and they need the funds to properly do the job asked of them. Many of those community programs have been cut in the past and law enforcement has been tasked with those duties without the funds to do them.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The Bill of Rights says that as an American citizen, you have the individual right to arm yourself. The amendment also firmly establishes that the government cannot infringe on that right. The only restriction I support is to prevent felons from gun ownership until their rights have been fully restored. My position is that legal gun ownership is not the problem, the bigger threat to the average citizen is guns in the hands of criminals.
