QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
If a woman has been raped or physically assaulted.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
We should support limiting abortions as it pertains to pregnancies that occur through criminal activity (i.e. rape, sexual assault, sex trafficking, etc.). However, I do not believe that abortions should occur for any reason in the later months (second or third trimesters). Instead of providing abortions, provide counseling in regards to the process and for mental wellness.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
I understand the premise as I am a Christian who is a lawyer and educator. I respect the rights of others to determine their religious beliefs. However, I do not believe that one who does not believe in any God should be allowed to determine whether or not I can pray because it offends them. I am offended, nor do I believe children should be exposed, at those who seek to live transgender lifestyles. I believe in God and if the LGBTQ community can be in schools & public spaces, so should FCA
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
If it is your business and you opt not to host groups that are offensive to your moral and/or religious beliefs, you should not be required to serve. The individual and business owner has worked hard to open this space and their rights should be respected and valued, especially in their own place.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger or when freedom is threatened.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
We must find ways to continue to secure or intellectual property and borders. We have had multiple attempts by China to attack our cyber network and has shown itself to be a global economic threat. We must rebuild and rebrand our position in the international, economic markets.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, biblically speaking, it spoke of a major international conflict starting in Israel as we are witnessing today. I empathize with all people who are dealing and living in a war zone area. This war in particular has the capacity to bring in many other countries due to its history and origins.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
I believe that there has been a decline because of the number of wars we have been involved in over the last decade. I also believe that there is a decline because we do not take care of our veterans and military families like we should or promised.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I don't believe that the government or school should be allowed to require vaccinations. However, I also believe that if one has been exposed or contracted a contagious disease or virus, I don't believe they should be allowed to expose others.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
I would limit taxation. Small business owners and the middle class Americans are feeling the brunt of this burden and that is not smart government.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Agree
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
Yes
Environmental and social issues should be used as a criteria in deciding where to invest public monies. While this should not be the main factor, it should be considered. Since these are factors used in determining various tax credits and incentives marketed to industry, it seems reasonable to use in this decisions as well. The effects on rural communities have been unequal so we must find a balance.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
While I am not in Texas and California, I am still feeling the results of open borders. I live in Alabama and I am witnessing more illegal immigrants moving into our communities and taking jobs from actual US citizens. I am seeing the increase of children of illegals enrolled in public schools and receiving extra assistance in school, but our Democrats complain about funding. This is not right. We must do better for, to and by US citizens.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Those who are seeking asylum for standing for democracy, but even then, in extreme cases. We must get our immigration issues and reform under control first.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
Yes, I am an educator and I see the mismanagement of funds and "top heavy" school systems. None of this trickles down to better educational opportunities for the children. I believe parents should have the rights to choose what's best for their child, not the school. Therefore, I support school choice, charter schools, private schools and home schools. I also believe in the usage of voucher programs and tax credits for parents.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Neutral
I believe in community policing and understand the role and need of police officers. I support educational trainings for police in and on communities. I also believe that leaders of community programs have a responsibility to educate the community so we can all work together.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe that gun owners should have to apply and a vetting period is needed before allowing one to purchase a gun. I also believe in trainings on gun safety and usage are helpful and should be offered.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Neutral
The appointees for the US Supreme Court were never supposed to allow politics to determine their decisions and/or opinions. Their oath prohibits this behavior, yet we have seen over the recent years an abuse of this power and oversight. I also believe that we have used politics to appoint judges that may or may not have been a nominee. The Constitution allows for the inclusion of more seats and the Framers of the Constitution were wise in its creation.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Overall, the sovereignty of the government rests with the people. I believe in limiting governmental oversight and engaging communities, business owners, nonprofit organizations and local leaders to work together. I also believe in our Constitution and the branches of government in their purist form when properly used creates a stronger government and a stronger United States.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No, I have never been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No, I have never been convicted of a felony.
VALUES
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian, and while I am not judging, I do adhere to the tenets of the Bible. Everyone has the right of choice as Jesus gave to each of us. But I do not believe that the choices of others as it relates to their beliefs, values and lifestyles should be forced upon me, my family or my community.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
One must have a photo identification to vote just to be able to identify the person. Protecting democracy is paramount and how can you ensure that the person is the right person without a photo identification.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Neutral
I believe the Electoral College process needs a complete overhaul. If we cannot update its usage in a manner that is commensurate to the popular vote, then it should be abolished.
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Neutral
I do not believe that the premise of the Critical Race Theory (CRT) asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist. The CRT challenges thought on the ways race and racial power by people have historically been used and how this usage has shaped the legal community and society as a whole. We as Americans must be willing to have these uncomfortable conversations if we are ever to correct them.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
I am a former athlete and I could not imagine having to play or compete against a man. Just because you change the outside doesn't change the inside. Any biological male who competes automatically has an unfair advantage and this has been reflected in those sports where they have been allowed to compete.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Agree
We are dealing with serious water and air contamination that requires urgent action on all of us. I believe it is the responsibility of everyone not just politicians--citizens, corporate citizens and organizations working together to clean up our communities.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
I believe a combination of solar and hydro power is the most reliable energy sources we have.
