QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Rape, incest or life of mother.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
I don’t support chemical abortion, but until it is outlawed, yes the use of those drugs should require in-person consultation with a medical doctor and require the provider to report on reactions and outcomes. The FDA loosening of safety standards is just an effort to make the drugs more widely available as more and more pro-life states crack down on abortion within their states.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never!
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Should religious schools which accept state funds be allowed to only admit families and students who agree to adhere to their statement of faith?
Yes
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
I believe the day of reckoning is upon our county and it is imperative for our state to become strong and self sufficient. For too long we have relied on China and tolerated their rampant abuses. We need a rapid course correction that prioritizes North Carolina's ability to stand on its own.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. Genesis 12: 1- 3.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C. is the closest to my views. We need more market driven reforms in healthcare. I would like to see an expansion of Healthcare Savings Accounts (HSA's) and the elimination of third party billing. I would like to see health insurance sold across state lines like we currently do with auto insurance. Would like to see tort reform to cut down on the lawsuits. All of these actions would lower the cost of healthcare across the board.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I am not anti-vax, but I do not believe that a vaccine that has not been properly assessed using clinical trails, historically taking 5 to 10 years to prove their safety and efficacy should ever be mandated!
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Free market forces should determine wages, not the government.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
I am the ultimate consumer of education. All of my children have attended private, traditional public, charter and homeschool. The parent should always be in control of the education dollars spent on their children. We need to defend and empower families and students, not the broken education system.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
I completely support our law enforcement and first responders. Not only do I not support redirecting funds, I believe our law enforcement community needs additional funding.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None. I will protect the Second Amendment by fighting any efforts to restrict a right that is expressly spelled out in the US Constitution.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect the individual rights of its citizens. I believe in a limited government with checks and balances that provides for order, stability and defense, but otherwise leaves man alone to live free.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
VALUES
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent unless an emergency situation arises risking immediate death.
Strongly Agree
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a born-again evangelical Christian. I have accepted Jesus as the Lord of my life and put my trust in him for my eternal security.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
Voting absentee by mail ballot should be limited to those meeting at least one of the following criteria: 1) 65 years of age or older on Election Day, 2) sick or disabled, 3) expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day, or 4) confirmed to be absent from the county of registration during voting.
Strongly Agree
I strongly believe that we should have a single day of voting as prescribed in our state Constitution and that mail in ballots should only be a last resort for the elderly, overseas military and the bedridden sick or infirm. I would also mandate that mail in ballots must be turned in by close of business on Election Day, and not allowed to be accepted if they come in after election day.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism exists, always has and always will. I would not characterize racism as a systematic threat to the domestic security of the United States. However, the use of race as an ideological weapon to promote violence and incite riots as conducted by Marxist groups like Black Lives Matter, Inc does pose a clear and dangerous threat to America. One only has to look at the BLM driven riots of a few years back to see the loss of life, and destruction of property that happens when left unchecked.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
We cannot survive as a country if we teach one group of children that they are born inherently oppressors and teach another group of children that they are born inherently victims. We should judge each individual by the content of their character, not by the color of their skin. CRT is a marxist based ideology designed to divide our county, not unite it. CRT must be eliminated from all instituions.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
During my tenure as chief of staff with Lt. Governor Dan Forest, we led the charge to keep men out of women's bathrooms!.We should never sacrifice our women and children at the altar of gender ideology.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
A and C comes closest to my view. America needs to be energy independent and energy dominate. We need to utilize the God given resources at our disposal and stop stifling innovation. We need cheap, reliable, dependable base load energy. We need to expand access to nuclear power and natural gas!
