QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
The Bible teaches that all life is sacred from conception to natural death. God knows those who are in the womb. Only in the case of an extreme medical emergency for the mother should taking the life of a child in the womb ever be considered. If a child must be taken from the womb, every effort should be made to sustain and nurture the child.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
As is currently proposed I support reducing top rate income tax form 4.75% to 4.5%, while moving toward a shift to a flat tax rate (comparable to HB 2285), with a goal of reducing tax burdens.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Oklahoma is experiencing an extremely healthy economy, with growing surplus funds. After analyzing a proper sustainment level for the "Rainy Day" Fund, tax rebates should be determined to return surplus funds to the citizens of Oklahoma.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Neutral
The term guaranteed through college should be changed to include vocational training. Public education is key to economic growth and social stability, however we must be good stewards by recognizing that every child may not want to attend a college. Public education should prepare students to excel as described in Proverbs 22:6--"Raise up a child in the way he should go..." Literally, to help the child grow in the way God uniquely designed him/her.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
The government should NEVER consider closing churches. This is the decision of an ecclesiastical body.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
B) Most closely aligns with my thoughts about healthcare. People should have teh ability to choose. Give the option of traditional Medicare or transition to a premium-support model designed to strengthen patient choice, promote cost-saving competition among providers, and better guard against the fraud and abuse that now diverts billions of dollars every year away from patient care. Guarantee to every enrollee an income-adjusted contribution toward a plan of their choice, with catastrophic protection.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
The choice to vaccinate should rest with the individual.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Never negotiate with terrorists. Increase intelligence capabilities to stop terrorism before it is able to transition from a plan to action. Be ready, willing and able to take swift, appropriate action.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
I fully support our strongest ally in the Middle East--Israel. Psalm 121:4--"He who watches Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps". This verse specifically refers to God's providence for His people, but should also serve as an indication of who we should support.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
The open border has seriously harmed our defense.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Legal immigration contributes to the true "melting pot" which is the United States of America. However, each immigrant and/or family should be vetted and screened for entry. We have robust immigration laws in place, which should be enforced.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I view the world through the Judeo-Christian lens, which is based upon my belief in Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. As I seek to live to glorify God, I hope my compassion, ability to listen to others and hold deep conversations while not compromising my values will point others to Christ.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I believe voting in national elections should happen on a day when VOTING is the priority. Make the day a work holiday. In doing so, reduce the use of mail-in/absentee voting. Require a picture ID to vote, as we do for many other activities, such as flying on an airliner.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is simply divisive. Anything which divides our nation is a threat to domestic security.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Neutral
This is a complex issue which requires more than a yes/no answer.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A)
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Disagree
iVoterGuide Notes:
The candidate notified ivoterguide.com that his answer should have been “Strongly Agree! I believe in fracking as one of the key methods we have in our toolkit to re-achieve and maintain energy independence!"
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Did not answer
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I have been a public servant most of my adult life.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I will examine every issue in detail. I will listen intently to every discussion, for everyone has a valid voice which needs to be heard. I will do the right thing, at the right time, every time. My foundation is based upon Judeo-Christian principles.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe the Second Amendment of the US Constitution provided a solid framework for the safety of citizens.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
