QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion should never be allowed under any circumstances.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I believe the tax code should represent Louisiana's pro-growth and limited government mindset. The current tax code is overcomplicated and needs to be simplified. The burden put on individuals and small businesses is significant. Instead of working to grow and invest in their business, owners are spending valuable hours working to get the IRS off their back--which is now adding thousands of agents to its payroll. Removing government from our individuals and small businesses will spur economic growth, encourage business development and allow entrepreneurs to take calculated risks. I believe the tax code should work for the people of Louisiana, not the IRS.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I firmly believe in the importance of fiscal responsibility. We must prioritize getting waste, fraud, and abuse out of government. Every agency needs to undergo a thorough review of where their funds are being spent. Once we understand where our money is going, we can begin to cut unnecessary programs and outdated agencies. We know that excessive regulation hinders economic growth and is a burden on businesses--cutting unnecessary red tape will remove big brother and promote freedom in the marketplace. While I worked at OMB during the Trump Administration, we cut two regulations for every new regulation put forward--which led to massive economic growth and spurred innovation. By implementing these strategies, we can achieve a balanced budget, reduce our debt and promote fiscal responsibility. It is our duty to use every taxpayer dollar efficiently, limit the size of government, and promote a sustainable economic future for generations to come.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Under no circumstances should government be allowed to close churches.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C. While Medicaid and Medicare are bankrupting our country, we will have to work to build a better system before we shut down the programs. The private sector has always outperformed the government when it comes to our healthcare. In fact, I do not know of a program the government has successfully overseen. I believe everyone should have access to the best healthcare available, which is why I believe government involvement in healthcare can only hinder the care we all receive and limit innovation within the healthcare space.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Under no circumstances should the government, educational institutions or an employer be allowed to force vaccinations on individuals.

NATIONAL SECURITY

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

In addition to the biblical importance of Israel, they are also an ally and friend of the United States. At no point should Israel be required to give up any territory belonging to them.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Our southern border is wide open. Our border agents are overworked, underpaid, and under-appreciated. During my time at DHS, we worked to secure our border and remove the massive influx of drugs--specifically Fentanyl, which is extremely addictive and dangerous.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those who come legally and follow our judicial system should be allowed to immigrate to the United States.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

As a conservative, I believe education is the backbone of a thriving generational society. Unfortunately, in many cases, our schools and faculty have become babysitters within a system that needs significant reform. It is through a strong and effective education system that we can equip our children with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in a quickly-evolving world. Parents play a crucial role in their child's education, and I will actively encourage and facilitate their involvement.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

It is an undeniable truth that Judeo-Christian values established the framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government. Our founders built our system for a moral and ethical people.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe Jesus is the son of God and scripture is the inherent word of God. My values align with the Bible as written.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Specific voting laws should be left to the state--I absolutely support voter ID and signature verification. I do not support mass mail-in voting.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I believe every human being is made in the image and likeness of God, with inherent value. Racism is evil and I am thankful to live in a country that continues to strive to be what God has called us to be. I do not see racism as a security threat in the United States. I may be misunderstanding the question, but I do not see any specific group that would be a threat to U.S. sovereignty.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A.) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. This is an undeniable truth. Overregulation always costs Americans more money. Whether it's inflation, higher food prices or higher gas prices, we always pay the price and it always leads back to over-regulation.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No, I have never been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

Having worked at the Department of Homeland Security, the White House Office of Management and Budget and in Congress, I hope to bring my experience to the Louisiana legislature. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by Louisiana and a steadfast commitment to the principles of limited government, individual liberty, and economic freedom, I will work to make a positive impact on our state's future. Like all of you, I want Louisiana to be a great place to live for generations to come and understand the severity of the issues we face today.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I support our current laws on gun ownership and do not see any restrictions that would be beneficial.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Gambling should be limited to existing forms and should not be de-regulated or expanded.

Neutral

Children should be protected from sexualization on the internet, in public schools, and in the public libraries
