QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Never. All children have a right to a chance at life.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

I think there are enough ways in a hospital to make terminal patients comfortable and not prolong life.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I would support budget modifications to facilitate doing away with the state income tax.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

All frivilous spending and would want to look at what we spend on social services and medicaid. From my law enforcement career I'm well aware social services are being fraudulently abused on a regular basis and little to no enforcement takes place.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

I support TOPS. Should a student drop out of college after receiving TOPS they should have to pay back what was spent on them. I went to college on the GI Bill so I know there are deserving students who need help in going to college or trade school. I just think we need to hold those who elect to use critical state funding accountable should they not follow through on their promise. I also think we should copy Mississippi and require work in the state for a period of time after graduation.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

I believe a person's religious convictions should allow them to excuse themselves in the event conflicted. I wasn't allowed to do this when I was a U.S. Marshal and had to protect abortion clinics.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Almost never.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Only proven vaccinations should be allowed that have been thoroughly tested and proven to work such as polio, measles, etc. No one should be forced to take Covid vaccines that have not been through clinical trials and vetted for safety and effectiveness.

NATIONAL SECURITY

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

I support the sovereignty of Israel.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Our current administration has failed our country I think on purpose and are damaging our national security. Open borders allow disease, crime/drugs/organized crime and illegal aliens to travel across our country.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Only those persons with skills we need to make our country better or legitimate political refugees.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Agree

My wife is a career educator and a 14 year principal. Bossier Parish has an exceptional public school system. However, I am aware there are other school systems around the state where parents need the ability to choose private school options. I have no problems allowing money to follow a student as long as that school follows the same testing requirements as counterpart public schools.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm a Christian and Church goer. I believe our country was founded on Christian values and beliefs and that it's the framework of our free republic.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Mail in ballots should not be allowed except for the elderly and deployed military.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No form of discrimination should be allowed in the United States.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

iVoterGuide Notes:

After the guide was published, the candidate expressed that his preferred response to this question should be "No.  While mental health treatment is much needed, law enforcement agencies operate on limited budgets and don’t need to have them cut."

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

After the guide was published, the candidate expressed that his preferred response to this question should be "None.  We need to loosen restrictions and make owning suppressors legal without tax stamps and pass constitutional carry.  I saw firsthand the bad guys carrying concealed weapons on the street.  Law abiding citizens must have that same available protection."

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
