QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I'm pro-life, so I don't condone abortions for any reason. If the mothers life is at risk, deliver the baby and give it a chance to survive. In cases of incest or rape, the mother has to live with the choice of abortion for the rest of her life, and I've seen many who regretted it, even to the point of wanting to commit suicide. I do believe that we need to make adoptions easier and more affordable.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree

Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree

ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Louisiana's tax code is a nightmare. We desperately need tax reform, so that we have clear and fair tax laws.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would encourage budget cuts for anything that isn't absolutely necessary. This would only help a small amount though. What we need is to amend our state constitution to reallocate money from over funded projects to those that are critical needs.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Agree
I agree but with a twist. I like TOPS but think it should be adjusted to give incentives for those skills that we need here in Louisiana, including approved technical and vocational schools.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
There's absolutely NO reason for our government to close churches and is a direct violation of our rights!

HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C) Medicaid should be available for those truly in need, but the budget needs to be decreased significantly. We need minimum government involvement in the private healthcare industry.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I'm not "anit-vax" but our government needs to stay in it's own lane. Requiring covid-19 "inoculation" (because it's not a true vaccine) is unconstitutional and should not be mandated.

NATIONAL SECURITY
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
We need to quit trying to "police" the world and get our own house in order!

IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I'm for legal immigration of citizens of non-foreign adversaries, and those seeking asylum (with proper vetting and background checks of course).

EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Neutral
I do agree with school choice if the child's needs aren't being met. I also believe all schools and curriculum should be tested to the same standards, which they currently are not. Free school choice also imposes some issues that needs to be resolved like them receiving money in October for the entire year and can suspend any troubled or undesirable students after that time while keeping the money. This forces public schools to take in those students without being compensated.

VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
As a Christian, my moral compass is based of the inspired word of God, found in the Bible. That biblical plumb bob is the standard of which our founding fathers based our rights on. Not that our country is perfect, but we have a perfect standard that does not change with time!
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Gender identity is a made-up ideology pushed by the far left which should not be viewed as a protected class.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Critical Race Theory needs to be abolished. We need to quit teaching division and start teaching unity!

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe that man is inherently sinful by nature and is in need of a savior, found in none other than Jesus Christ. That He was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead on the third day. That He sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us. I don't believe that it's my responsibility to beat anyone over the head with the bible, that's the Holy Spirits job. My job is to love them unconditionally. Yet, I do not have to accept their beliefs to love them.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
In Louisiana we have to have a photo ID to vote, so I don't see a major problem here. I'm open to listen to concerns from our citizens and political groups.

EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I don't think racism is as big of a threat as the far left and the media would like us to believe. I think the biggest threat to domestic security in the U.S. is the constant fight to divide and label it's people. We need to quit separating each other and encourage unity! There should be no African Americans, Latino Americans, Muslim Americans, European Americans, etc. We're all red-blooded Americans!

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A) All day long! I have 37 years of experience in the petrochemicals industry. While basic environmental laws are necessary, too many create to strain on the industry, hurting our economy, and driving up prices.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
I agree that it does help with the overall production of oil and natural gas, but we should do so with caution. Be informative and transparent with the people. We should encourage it in more rural areas, and in the Gulf of Mexico.

Very Conservative
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I grew up right here in Livingston Parish where I attended public schools, raised my family, and owned multiple small businesses since 1989. I'm a political newcomer, with nothing to gain except your respect as someone who looks out for the everyday Joe and Jane! I retired from a local chemical plant with 29 years of service in 2021 and started my newest company with my son, Avara Development LLC where we perform various home and drainage improvements. I'm for creating a more fiscal responsible and accountable government, with less government overreach. I'm for reducing our taxes and developing a tax system that's equally fair for everyone. I'm for amending TOPS to give incentives for those professions that we need right here in Louisiana, including those provided by qualified technical and vocational schools. I'm a second amendment supporter who's for constitutional carry by law abiding citizens. I fully support our military, police, and first responders. I'm for all aspects of protecting innocent life, including the development of a library book rating system much like the movie industry where rated PG books are placed in the adult section where minors have access only when accompanied by an adult. With 37 years of working in the plants, I've worked on large teams to resolve tough issues. I've written procedures to maintain EPA and DEQ compliance. I've designed and implemented multimillion dollar projects, on time, and on budget. I don't believe in kicking the can down the road, and certainly not afraid to tackle the tough issues! I'll work tirelessly to improve our state and make it a place where people and businesses will want to move to instead of from!

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
The key takeaway here is "consistent with departmental policy".
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
I'm all for funding mental health and community programs, but NOT at the cost of defunding our police department.

2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The only restrictions should be that convicted felons should not be in possession of a firearm.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Gambling should be limited to existing forms and should not be de-regulated or expanded.
Agree
Children should be protected from sexualization on the internet, in public schools, and in the public libraries
Strongly Agree
I support a book rating system similar to the movie industry, where rated PG books are located in the adult section and accessible by minors only if accompanied by an adult.
