QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Agree
If, of course, they are aligned with accurate medical information
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Choose not to answer
I am doctoral level Scientist. This statement is inflammatory. My first pregnancy was aborted. I suffered from fibroid tumors and couldn't stand up straight at 7 weeks. My doctor and I decided together that it was medically proper to terminate the pregnancy. There are a myriad of valid reasons to terminate a pregnancy. So, scientifically and morally, this statement does not address the factual dynamism of female reproductive rights & that of born children. It just reads politically inflammatory
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Choose not to answer
As a doctoral level Economist, I would generally answer this affirmatively; however, free enterprise and the right to private property must also be enforced within the scope of applicable civil and criminal laws
School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.
Disagree
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I am in favor of government funding of public education through high school. Government funding through college is idealistic; the CMS Board of Education seat has no authority in this regard
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Disagree
School should focus on learning. Where religion is incorporated in learning, it should only be objectively so
School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Choose not to answer
This is another inflammatory statement. School districts are NOT for the purpose of pushing religious or even secular agendas. Neither sector should be discriminated against, and that's a statutory law
EDUCATION
What is the function of the local school board?
Parliamentarian and Ombudsman of sorts aside from the strict statutory language
Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?
NCDPI
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
When they are intending to disturb the peace as opposed to voicing their concerns objectively or as best they can given their ability
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning
As a teacher who advocates for interdisciplinary education, they are all equally important. All subject matter can be taught objectively without discriminating against or offending any particular group
Which more closely matches your view of America's founding principles? A) Liberty and equality. B) Slavery and racism.
Both, because that is the factual history of America.
What does "equity in education" mean to you?
I concur with statutory definitions for equity. Each student has the right to equal education, which includes fitness of teachers, counselors, principals, the school building itself and its literal fitness regarding safety and being up to code, et cetera.
Written parental consent (opt-in) must be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
Choose not to answer
Generally
The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.
Choose not to answer
This is idealistic, but unrealistic because federal oversight is necessary to enforce constitutional rights
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.
Choose not to answer
Yes, but that means parents who choose not to comply with prevailing law, should strongly consider homeschooling or enrolling in a charter school that befits their preference
School boards are accountable to parents and taxpayers.
Agree
Absolutely
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school.
Yes
Transparency is statutorily proper
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My spiritual belief and values are wholly immaterial to my fitness for this seat or any public office, because I fully apprehend that public service is for the benefit of all CMS constituents - ALL. I'm definitely arguably one of very few vying for this seat whose objectivity is unrivaled.
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
Strongly Agree
That's statutorily applicable; unless there are exceptions in law related to matters of sexual, physical or emotional abuse inflicted by the parent or guardian or the like
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Generally parents, but of course they can consent to sexual education in schools, which should be imparted objectively
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex
Sex acts and pleasures of sex generally violate NCGS, but all else if taught objectively is appropriate when consented to.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
Choose not to answer
The law is finite regarding separation of church and state. Several different religions have shaped the overall value system of America
I support allowing public middle and high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Choose not to answer
This is an inflammatory statement. It must be understood that those who have changed their identity generally have undergone hormone therapy which does significantly change their physicalities. This is not yet well settled Science so I cannot expound any further
Biological males should be allowed in female locker rooms and bathrooms.
Choose not to answer
This is also inflammatory. Generally when a biological males undergoes gender transformation, they have absolutely no desire to be perceived as a man and thus do not conduct themselves in an untoward manner as is suggested in this statement. Requiring that a biological males who has changed his identity to female be only allowed in male locker rooms and bathrooms would then present a problem for most men and even pose significant danger to the transgender person
No school official should be involved in the social or medical transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.
Choose not to answer
Agree, but only generally; consider this, the administration of prescribed medications is typically handled by the school nurse or administrator, so whereas the school official is not directly involved, they are still yet involved albeit minimally
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Agree
We can; that's already a law. One can vote with or without an "photo ID." However, generally, it is proper to identify oneself to protect the integrity of our voting system.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Yes, I was wrongfully convicted of felony identity theft of said Teresa Rickman in 2006. Teresa Rickman did not testify, nor did the officer who purportedly took Teresa Rickman's identity theft report. I was the victim of identity theft in 2004, and received a new social security number as a form of relief. But clearly that relief was not comprehensive. Establishing my innocence is underway.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Choose not to answer
Objective
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
In this regard, I am inarguably THE MOST transparent candidate in this race and past races so follow me at my social links. I am exactly who I say I am, and consistently so since first vying for office in 2013. I'm people too. Both regular and extraordinary, but not perfect but damn close and proud of my intentional growth, enlightenment, objectivity and positive, transformative impact on my communities and the public at large
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
We are all here for a common goal - to be heard ... but if you're only willing to talk and not listen and employ objectivity, then nothing can be achieved .. that's effectual deadlock ... emphasis on "dead" as synonymous with stagnation and no productivity
A candidate's personal moral values are relevant when considering a candidacy for elective office.
Strongly Agree
Of course, but not their religion unless they practice a religion that promotes trespasses against others. One can have high morals and not be a Christian. One can have high morals and be an atheist. One can even have and practice higher moral standards than a Christian or Catholic et cetera. Morality is not contingent upon one's religion only
I voted in these primaries and general elections:
2014 Democratic Primary 2014 General Election 2016 Democratic Primary 2016 General Election 2018 Democratic Primary 2018 General Election 2020 Democratic Primary 2020 General Election 2022 Democratic Primary 2022 General Election
I have not ever voted Republican
2ND AMENDMENT
Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.
Choose not to answer
I really hope that we don't have to live in a world where teachers carry guns. Too many factors to consider. It's seems logical and necessary considering the mass shootings, but what if a student disables a teacher and then carries out a mass shooting with the teacher's gun. This one is a tough one
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. I am a Scientist. I am not vaccinated nor is my immediate family. However, because public schools hinge upon public safety, it is lawful to require certain vaccinations, which I've had over the years in public school and college, for the purpose of public safety. In the case of COVID, wearing a mask is an excellent alternative to having the vaccination for those especially in the vulnerable community like myself, my son and my mom
I support mask mandates.
Strongly Agree
I'm a Scientist with HAZMAT and OSHA expertise. You wear a hard hat on a construction site so a medical mask is inarguably proper for a virus that spreads via saliva/coughing. If you don't want to wear a mask, then practice social distance
All official open meetings should be live streamed, recorded, and have transcripts available online for public access.
Strongly Agree
I do support transparency in government. There are limited proper occasions when closed meetings are legally necessary
All votes should be roll call votes and recorded in meeting minutes.
Strongly Agree
generally, again, incorporating my statement above
