QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I believe there should be a limit on abortion after 15 weeks. With exceptions for rape, incest, and life of the mother.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I believe VA needs to look at the car tax. Most of the state does not have adequate public transportation so an annual tax on people's primary means of transportation disproportionally hurts poorer people. Furthermore, this tax discourages young people in the DMV from living in VA, because neither DC or Maryland have a similar tax.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would propose a two prong method for balancing the budget growth and efficiencies. By growing the economy, we can increase revenue through already existing taxes which would offset expenditures by the government. Furthermore, I'd like incentivizes better expenditures of tax dollars. In this country we tend to believe simply by throwing money at a problem we can fix it. I would like to shift priorities to better utilization of funds. I believe by these factors we can balance our budget, and get more out of our state government.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
I believe by guaranteeing taxpayer-funded public education through college, we would continue to degrade the value of a high school diploma and simply be masking failures within our primary and secondary education. I believe there are educational reforms that need to be done at the primary, secondary, and university levels before such an action could even be considered. These actions include reducing administrative cost, student loan reform to eliminate moral hazard, and a life skills focus.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
I don't believe governments have the right to close churches. They can ask churches not to meet during times of emergency but do not have the right to forcibly close churches.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
I mostly believe Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. I think there are reforms such as price transparency, interstate purchasing of insurance, and expansion of medical school pipelines would improve the cost of health care for the average consumer.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Governments have the right to require vaccination when going through customs. Schools have the right to require vaccination when they are housing students. Otherwise I believe the appropriate action is to use positive encouragement for people to get vaccinated.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
The US should continue to support regional allies in areas where Islamic terrorism is high. Additionally efforts should be made to better integrate the regions into the global economy in more meaningful ways, so the factor that often contribute to Islamic terrorism are diminished in the long run.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Disagree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone should be allowed to immigrate to the United States, but they must go through legal systems that are currently in place.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Neutral
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I would describe myself as Catholic.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I would propose voting ID laws.
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I think the ability to exploit different ethnic groups within the Untied States is a domestic security threat. History is filled to the breaking points of people seeking to rile up different ethnic groups and pit them against each other in order to gain dominance over an area.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
That stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The fundamental purpose of governments historically is to provide for the defense of its people, to ensure the flow of commerce, and to keep the peace.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
None curretnly
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
I have never been accused, tried, nor convicted for sexual misconduct.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
My top three priorities are education, crime, and the economy. My role models for politicians include Dwight Eisenhower, Themistocles, and Cincinnatus. All three men had an understanding of their role in their time and what they could do to better help the future. Whether it was Cincinnatus, stepping down from absolute power which set a precedent for all the Roman Republic. Themistocles was a visionary who understood the need to build a Navy in the 400s BC to defeat Persia. His foresight allowed the Athenian empire to grow and thrive. Or, Eisenhower for ensuring that the infrastructure projects of his administration would help commerce flow and the space organization he founded would achieve the crowning victory of the Space Race.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe most of the very effective restrictions on gun ownership used to protect public safety were previously passed under the gun control act and national firearms act.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
