OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As a pro life advocate and mother, not a doctor, any answer I may offer, in light of the way the question is being presented will be insufficient.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I would like to see personal property taxes on vehicles be dropped.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

This will be my first year as a legislator and I would like to see a full audit of our needs and requirements to ensure we're not inadvertently wasting money on programs and products that are no longer essential to the wellbeing of Virginians.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

College level educational pursuits should be left to the discretion and funding of the individuals choosing to attend. I do agree that students who choose to pursue higher level education post high-school and desire to go to Virginia schools should be eligible for tuition breaks and discounts.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

In a free society, privately owned businesses should be free to remain in alignment with the principles of their religion of choice and should be supported in their right to uphold those principles as business owners.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

1. Secure our borders. 2. Reduce / Eliminate dependence on foreign fuels 3. Support our allies in the ME

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Disagree

Israel needs to be acknowledged as a Sovereign Nation and should be able to protect their borders as any other nation is able to do.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Persons who choose to immigrate within the perimeters of our documented Federal requirements. Persons who have been thoroughly vetted and deemed to be a non-threatening entity. Persons who are willing to assimilate into our National culture, learn our language and function in their identity as Americans. Persons willing to linguistically adapt and learn our national language - English.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Agree

I also want our students being publicly educated to be properly supported and equipped to build the lives they choose to pursue.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Biblical Christian. I believe that the Word of God is infallible. I believe that all beliefs that claim to be Christian must be Biblically supported by numerous texts throughout the entirety of Scripture, not merely extracted out of context in such a way as to yield themselves to personal/individual application. I believe that one of the most beautiful characteristics of Christianity is that one of the first things God established for humanity was a choice. That is one of the reasons its principles so beautifully support the ideals of freedom and individuality that makes America great. Choices are not without consequence, as is demonstrated in the infamous choice that was made in the garden of Eden to eat the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, however the plan of redemption and the hope for reconciliation is the power that brings the gospel to life. It is the gift of God available to all who would believe.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I would narrow the window during which people can vote. I would ensure that access to voting areas is not restricted in any way, shape or form and that to the best of our ability it would be as convenient as possible for people to access voting locations. I would use paper ballots that can be counted electronically, and recounted by hand should that be necessary. I would add the requirement for some level of personal identification, with facial rendering in order to ensure the votes of citizens are counted for the actual citizens and not imposters who would desire to tamper with our elective process.

EQUALITY

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Disagree

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

It can be. If there are organized entities who continue to propagate differences and points of division over human dignity for all of God's created humanity, then that poses a very real threat to the safety and security of our communities and nation.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Neutral

Agreement or disagreement is too small a reduction for such an important subject matter and can be construed easily one way or another based on the personal persuasion of the reader. I think it is an insult to presume that anyone could ever provide adequate repayment for the atrocities that have happened to persons of so many races in our history. Perhaps, the best repair would be to teach with intentionality the divine dignity of all biological humanity and to demonstrate that in our lives.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

I really think there is a better solution than either of these options. Swinging the pendulum is not something we are required to do in order to both support our irreplaceable natural resources and simultaneously support our families, communities, businesses, and economy. We need to be invested in supporting both in responsible and informed ways. We have one planet. We have one life. Let's do our VERY BEST to provide for and protect BOTH!

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Neutral

I am not educated enough on this subject to make a clear statement. I will need more information. I do support save and responsible harvesting of natural resources. In the same way George Washington Carver was able to discern the balance of use and rotation of crops to support the health of the soil and the products it produced, we need to take a responsible and educated look at the impact of our process in harvesting energy as well. I am not an all or nothing candidate.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To serve and protect the general welfare and support citizens in such a way as to offer each one the equal right to their life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

https://youtu.be/ehJ546Qqv9A https://themarkvinesshow.podbean.com/e/episode-145-grace-morrison-virginia-house-of-delegates-district-31/

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

no

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

My sincere desire is to put the People back into the political arena. The partisan power plays and divisive tactics are not unifying Virginians or Americans. United we stand and divided we fall. If we continue to placate to the status quo, we cannot avoid our imminent demise as the last standing free nation in the world. We must begin at the local levels and return to the people like you and I who are not career politicians, but rather moms, dads, teachers, farmers, business owners, etc who are the heart and soul of our Commonwealth the decisions of how Virginia is run. Do we want the same political games or do we want our seats at the table given back so that we can all be the kind of invested stakeholders in our government that our Virginia forefathers envisioned? I want to restore the voice of the People and the conservative principles that the People of District 31 value most!!!

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

Key phrase - "Consistent with departmental policy!" I would add that those policies need to be regularly audited in regard to their consistency with the US and VA constitutions.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Disagree

This needs to be an additional assessment made separate to our necessary funding of law enforcement.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The phraseology of this question implies a deficiency in the second amendment to our US Constitution. With freedoms and rights come divinely ordered responsibility. We need to be cautious in using language that implies gun owners are a danger to public safety.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Disagree

I also don't like the phrase gun violence. I believe there are people who engage in violence through employing guns, but the guns themselves are inanimate outside of the will of the person employing it.
