QUESTIONNAIRE*
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Elective abortion should never be allowed.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Choose not to answer
I do not support the use of chemical abortion drugs.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Under no circumstances should the government ever be allowed to close a church.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
America has been too lax with its enemies for far too long. The chief among those is China who have openly stated they seek to dominate the United States of America. This cannot be allowed. A world dominated by a Chinese dictatorship unopposed by a strong USA will lead to untold suffering and death across the planet.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian values and is clearly in line with the values of Israel. Israel is the only democratic ally in a resource-rich region dominated by radical Muslim theocracies.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Option C. I have worked and paid into the Medicare/Medicaid programs all my life whether I wanted to or not. Consequently, as a retired person, I do depend on these benefits.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
No government (including schools) or private business should be allowed to force a person to take a vaccination against their sincerely held beliefs. People should not be forced between an injection and a paycheck.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I do not believe in a minimum wage. A person should be paid for the inherent value of the work he or she performs. Menial jobs anyone can do should be paid less than more skilled jobs that require training or experience.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
While the federal government should honor its constitutional mandate to protect the states from the invasion occurring at the Southern border with Mexico, Texas must do more to protect its citizens when the federal government is unable or unwilling to do so.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
The Texas Constitution (Article VII, Section 1) states that a general diffusion of knowledge is necessary to preserve liberty and protect individual rights and mandates that the state legislature carry out this direction. Today's educational opportunities have expanded way past the post-civil War era one-room schoolhouses. The state should open up today's modern educational opportunities to all Texas parents and allow state funding to follow the child.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I am not in favor of any gun ownership restrictions outside of any age restrictions for minors.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
Texas already has a School Marshal Program that allows for teachers to be armed at school. I believe the state should pay for any training and certification needed for teachers to be armed in the classroom. I also believe that some kind of qualified immunity is provided to teachers who choose to defend their students in the case of an active shooter situation.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To preserve liberty, protect individual rights, and provide for the common defense. That is the most basic way I can describe the role of government.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative

VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Legislation regarding what is and is not child abuse must be clarified and strengthened to adequately protect children from the radical sexual and gender ideologies of the left.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
Parents have been charged with the upbringing of their children since bibilcal times.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Never.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Southern Baptist who attends the First Baptist Church of De Kalb. My spriritual beliefs and values are biblically based.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Photo ideas are ubiquitous in modern society. Arguments against providing photo IDs are merely strawman arguments.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
Absolutely not! The founders were wise to put state checks and balances on national elections. As we see in Texas, not having a county-based electoral college system allows the five main population centers of Texas to dominate every proposed constitutional amendment.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Actual racism is not a threat to domestic security. However, the political weaponization of racism is a threat to domestic security. Everyone saw just a couple of short years ago how America burned because of the hysteria wrought by the George Floyd riots.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
This is an anti-American ideology used to corrupt and destroy the values and principles of the United States.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Disagree
If you can't figure this one out, I don't think I have the words to explain the truth to you.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
A and C. Government should seek the least restrictive environmental laws and regulations needed to protect our land, resources, economy and people.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Gas and oil.
