QUESTIONNAIRE*
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Agree
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.
Strongly Disagree
Public Taxpayer Monies should never be used for Political Agendas. School Boards cannot be trusted to use this money wisely and will use it for their own political agendas. The voice of the PTA should be used to influence politicians.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I think all education should be paid for by Federal Funds so as to ensure equaity for all regardless of race or gender. This should include vocational schools as well. I find it disgraceful that those that paid for their educations are not entitled to refunds while those that promised to pay back student loans get a continuing free ride. Why pay for anything when there is alwas the possibility that the loans will be forgiven by the government?
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Agree
As a veteran I firmly believe in Freedom of Speech so long as it does not violate the separation of Church and State Doctrines that this Country was founded on. Schools are a place for learning and sharing questions so long as the students are not 'guided' by teachers that believe they know best how to raise OUR kids.
School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Discrimination has no place in the Schools PERIOD. So long as the beliefs do not infringe upon the rights and beliefs of others.
EDUCATION
What is the function of the local school board?
To assure that EVERYONE has a place at the table. To make sure that salaries are fair and commensurate with experience and to assure that the wives of School Superintendents are not paid over $80,000 a year just for being married to the Superintendent as is the case in Leavenworth. TO GUARANTEE THAT THE RULE OF LAW IS ADHERED TO AND NOT IGNORED WHEN THE SCOTU MANDATES PARENTAL RIGHTS. TO PROTECT STUDENTS AT ALL COSTS AND NOT ALLOW PUBLIC OFFICIALS TO USE STUDENTS FOR THEIR OWN POLITICAL AGENDAS AS WAS THE CASE WITH REP PAT PROCTOR AND HIS PUPPETERS. Students need to be protected over and above all else.
Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?
The School Board with assistance from the Teachers and PTAs and with guidance from the KSB of Education.
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
Only when speaking constitutes Hate Speeches.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning
Mathematics, Science, Foreign Language, Information Technology, Personal Finances, Critical Race Theory (one a curriculumn is developed by all the players, Physical Fitness.
Which more closely matches your view of America's founding principles? A) Liberty and equality. B) Slavery and racism.
Liberty and Justice for All. Separation of Church and State. A Republic and NOT a Democracy (the Founding Fathers believing that Democracy was in no-ones best interests.
What does "equity in education" mean to you?
Starting at the TOP I believe that all vetted candidates should be given equal consideration and not ignored because of their skin color as was the case in Leavenworth when the current White Board ignored the KSB of Educations referal of Three Black Candidates for the position of Superintendent. Vocational Programs given equal status as Academic Programs. The Arts having a place in education. Special Educational Services being funded to the same extent of other programs.
Written parental consent (opt-in) must be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
Strongly Agree
IF parents want their offspring exempted from select courses based upon religious beliefs I believe that those beliefs should be honored.
The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.
Strongly Agree
WE are in control of our children and a Federal Political Agenda is an afront to OUR beliefs. Bidden can keep his tax dollars and shove them you know where.
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.
Strongly Agree
SCOTUS has affirmed Parental Rights and I believe that the Leavenworth School Board should be held in Contempt of Court and Jailed for REFUSING to comply with the Rule of Law. Enrollments are lower this year than in the past three decades. Home schooling is the wave of the future with kids only participating in the Senior Year so as to get the Diploma. You do the math.
School boards are accountable to parents and taxpayers.
Strongly Agree
We really need a criteria for being on a School Board and not just a popularity contest for idiots.
Do you believe students should have access to materials that graphically depict and describe sexual acts?
Choose not to answer
IF it is part of the curriculumn and parents have not opted-out. Parents do not stop access to the internet so better to have it monitored that not at all.
All print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review.
Strongly Agree
Teacher accountability.
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school.
Yes
Available to all that are funding the schools. If you are paying for schools you are entitled to see what you are paying for.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
In GOD We Trust. As a Reverend I firmly believe that spirituality is desperately lacking in our schools. I believe in starting and ending the school day with a Moment of Silence so as to give all an opportunity to reflect and, if so inclined, to pray. I believe in Common Ground. I believe.
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Disagree
Unfair advantages are simply unfair advantages. If anything I believe that a third set of school teams is more appropriate that mixing and matching. We have weight classifications in boxing, separate Tees in Golf, and the list goes on.
No school official should be involved in the sexual transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.
Strongly Agree
They are not qualified just because they work for the school district AND they will NEVER have my permission to brainwash my kids without me taking the appropriate actions against them.
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
Strongly Agree
The only exception would involve a Court ORDER and Criminal Hearing.
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
That is a parental choice and between the parents and their spiritual leaders. Each child is different and physical age is not relevant (emotional age is).
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex
If agreed to by parents I believe all of the above is appropriate IF you can find an expert in the field - and I have yet to find any).
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Schools are in dire need of developing a framework of morality. The government is severly lacking and we need to develop leaders with a renewed sense of morality. We start with a School Board that is not racist or sexist catering to opinions of politicians with persoanl agendas. We start with the Bible.
I support allowing public middle and high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Agree
As before. An unfair advantage due to physical issues.
Biological males should be allowed in female locker rooms and bathrooms.
Strongly Disagree
I believe that all schools need to retool and have individual unisex locker rooms and bathrooms for all. With LGBT issues at the forefront what is the difference in allowing males in females rooms when we allow lesbians and homosexuals in same sex facilities. Truck stops have the right ideas. They have small rooms that have a locker, toilet and single shower for privacy. We need to do the same for the privacy of all.
No school official should be involved in the social or medical transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.
Strongly Agree
Simply not qualified. Parental decision NOT for the schools to decide. When OUR kids turn 18 they can make their own decisions.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Photo IDs are a joke. I believe that verification is necessary and reasonable with with Certified IDs or fingerprints. Word of Mouth is garbage and not what this country needs.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
A candidate's personal moral values are relevant when considering a candidacy for elective office.
Strongly Agree
Morality is the basis by which we govern.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
There are always exceptions BUT voting for someone based upon a label put on them is a disservice to everything I wore the uniform in Vietnam, Iraq and Afganistan defending. RINOs, DINOs and other labels does not mean you have the same platform that I do. When voting I normally choose the candidate based upon their platforms and not the platforms their parties have for them. All elections should be bipartisan.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I only have my Candiate Forums to rely on. Contact me and decide for yourself.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I proudly wore the uniform in the last three conflicts, I have two Master's degrees (Public Administration and Education), I have experience as a School Superintendent, I am a vocal advocate for equality for all,
I voted in these primaries and general elections:
2014 Republican Primary 2014 General Election 2016 Republican Primary 2016 General Election 2018 Republican Primary 2018 General Election 2020 Republican Primary 2020 General Election 2022 Republican Primary 2022 General Election
I vote whenever given the opportunity and speak whenever allowed.
2ND AMENDMENT
Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.
Agree
IF trained and licensed they have a right to carry as a form of protection. The training teaches them what the rules are.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?
Never. When there is a Public Health Risk they should be able to deny attendance so as to protect staff and students BUT requiring vaccinations is up to parents WITH guidance from Medical Professionals.
I support mask mandates.
Neutral
Same response as above. If mask mandates are deemed needed to protect staff and students that those not willing to comply should be allowed to be Home Schooled. Their rights not to wear masks, while understandable, is not a right to adversly affect others.
All official open meetings should be live streamed, recorded, and have transcripts available online for public access.
Strongly Agree
TRANSPARENCY, TRANSPARENCY, TRANSPARENCY. We need more accountabilty in the classroom. Parents need to see how their kids are behaving and how the teachers are plying their trade.
All votes should be roll call votes and recorded in meeting minutes.
Strongly Agree
Need a stronger record so as to discharge ineffective personal and hold more people accountable.
