Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
The federal government should play a role in limiting abortion to protect the sanctity of life. This could involve measures such as overturning Roe v. Wade which we did to return regulatory authority to states, passing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act to ban abortions after 20 weeks, and enacting a Federal Heartbeat Bill to prohibit abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected. Additionally, defunding Planned Parenthood to prevent taxpayer dollars from supporting abortion services and supporting conscience protections for healthcare providers who object to performing abortions on moral or religious grounds are key legislative steps.

"Separation of church and state" means the government shouldn't establish a religion or interfere with religious freedom. However, it does not exclude religious values from public life. Faith-based perspectives can positively influence societal values and ethics while protecting religious freedoms and ensuring government neutrality.
