QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
I would like to add that if the mother's life is in danger it becomes a medical decision at that point and she should be able to make that decision without fear of legal ramifications. I also believe that if a woman or girl has been raped or been the victim of incestuous rape and becomes pregnant she should not be forced to carry the baby. That assault scars for life and molestation murders who you could have been. God did not intend for babies to be created from evil like that.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
The role of the school is education. The only thing they can or should do is encourage the child to tell their parents and that's only if the child comes to them voluntarily. Otherwise, it's not their place to interfere in private, family matters.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
The United States of America is a capitalist society. It is one that provides opportunity for anyone willing to work hard to become successful and own a home or land. These are the foundational ideals of what the American Dream is.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
This is a complicated question & I am on both sides of the argument, here is why: I am the parent of a special needs child, and as such we need government funding of the IDEA law to ensure our kids are getting all they are entitled to. Unfortunately, the Federal Government has fallen short on its promise to fully fund IDEA. Luckily, those funds don't come with strings attached. Here is the other side: For non-special education, it can be a slippery slope & I would be concerned about curriculum
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Teachers should be required to refer to students by pronouns which are misaligned with their gender at birth even if it would violate the teacher's moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
The more we focus on culture wars, the less we focus on school. It is not the role of the school to get involved with these matters. Their lane is reading, writing, math, science, history the way it happened, and extracurricular classes and activities.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
Absolutely not. None of this existed when I went to school or when my eldest daughter went to school. This is not progress. Progress would be excelling in educational standards. These things are outside the scope of what should be happening in a school..
Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Teachers can not teach in a chaotic environment and students can not learn in one either. A district can have great discipline policies, but if they are not enforced, they're not worth the paper they're written on.
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?
Yes
I agree those materials should be available to those without children because they might be planning a family, or currently pregnant, or want to become a teacher, and access to those materials can help people make a decision on which school to choose or which profession.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
I am the daughter of a WWII Veteran who was stationed at Fort Kamehameha, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Yes, he was there that fateful day and obviously lived to tell about it or I wouldn't exist. I also have two uncles who served in WWII, one survived the Battan Death March and the other stormed Normandy Beach, survived and his army troop went on to liberate one of the concentration camps. We were raised to be patriotic. We are the BEST nation in world and our kids need to know that.
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Disagree
Diversity is a fact. All you have to do is look around, not look for it. Next, there is an enormous difference between equity & equality. Equity seeks to guarantee outcomes for people, where equality provides the same opportunity for all & the best person earns it. Inclusion has been hijacked to refer to gender, race & sexual orientation while ignoring the disabled population, who continue to be marginalized by the very people yelling for more DEI. The disabled are rarely mentioned in the I part
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
For 2023, the U.S. Department of Education's budget is $79.6B. With our national debt levels, we can use that money to bring down the deficit.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
Language Arts, American History, Math, Science, Civics, Art & Music, Foreign Language, Information Technology, Personal Finances an Vocational Learning. I feel Debate should be added to this list, just for the record.
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Neutral
I'm not convinced. First of all, this is America and we have choices, always. Secondly, the amount of money that could potentially follow the child would not be enough to cover the cost of private education and not everyone can homeschool. Third, this question seems to leap to the conclusion that public schools aren't good and I am still a BIG believer in public school. Lastly, parents of special needs kids need the support of public education. This is not a one size fits all solution.
Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?
Equality of opportunities. I used to work at the UCLA Medical Center and we had a running joke: "What do you call the person who graduates dead last in medical school?" Answer "Doctor". Let that sink in. Now imagine if medical schools accept students and then pass through students who are not academically capable. Would you want that person operating on your child or your spouse? Don't let my last name fool you; I am racially and ethnically mixed.
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
A) Opt-in and the reason is Opt-In forces the school to give the details of the curriculum.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian and believer in Jesus Christ and have been my whole life. I was raised Catholic and continued to practice Catholicism until the story broke about the child molesting priests and the complete lack of accountability on the part of the Vatican made my stomach turn. They knew & their solution was to move priests around. Leadership is important to me and titles mean nothing if you fail the people that follow you. I will not suffer a pedophile. Children are sacrosanct.
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Sexual education should be taught at home. It is up to the parents to decide when THEIR child is ready for those conversations. Furthermore, the biology of sex can be taught in school. I had sex education in school but clinical terms were used and no one crossed any boundary lines back then.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
human anatomy/the reproductive system; stages of pregnancy & fetal development; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; the importance of talking to your parents openly.
Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause infertility and a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.
Strongly Agree
My eldest is almost 29 and I raised her to not make any major decisions until after age 25. That meant don't get married and don't have kids. Give yourself time to grow, finish school, travel and really get to know who you are. There was a medical fact behind my motherly advice. The human brain doesn't fully develop until age 25 & the last part to develop is THE ABILITY TO ANTICIPATE CONSEQUENCES. These surgeries and "treatments" should be outlawed for minors.
Children have the right to be protected from hypersexualization (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.
Strongly Agree
We have explicit lyric warnings. We still have movie ratings G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17 and X. Yet somehow, someone decided sexually explicit materials belong in front of children. Take those same books and read aloud on a street corner and you will be arrested. These items are not educationally based and they are not literature.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.
Agree
I agree that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained by God. We see it both in the Book of Genesis and the Book of Matthew and this union is essential to the continuation of the human race. However, I am also a constitutionalist, and I believe in the 14th amendment, which guarantees all people equality under the law.
Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.
Strongly Agree
Fundamental, God GIVEN right.
Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.
Strongly Agree
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Under the law in the United States, convicted felons lose their right to vote. We had better have identification and PROOF anyone attempting to vote has the legal right to do so.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports.
Strongly Agree
Men are inherently stronger than women. Their DNA, muscle mass, bone structure are completely different than women. Women have already been physically injured by males being allowed to compete in their sports. Does someone have to die before common sense kicks in? Why are women's rights being erased?
Biological males should not be allowed to occupy women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, women's shelters, prisons, or sororities.
Strongly Agree
Sadly, some men are abusing this new fad and using it to perpetrate evil on women. Women are being raped in prison by men who "identify as female" and are getting pregnant because of it. I have an in-law in the correctional facility industry and this is her first-hand experience of what she is seeing on the job. The rights of women are being eradicated every day and it's wrong.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
I voted in these primaries and general elections:
2016 General Election 2020 General Election
I have not ever voted in a primary election until this year 2024 and it was the Republican Primary. For local elections I vote Republican but those are not listed.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Strongly Agree
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.
Strongly Disagree
We were lied to and we will not be lied to again. We all have medical rights and only I get to make those decisions for me and my minor children. I did not get the vaccine and neither did my son.
