QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Life begins at conception.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
The school must support decisions made by the student regarding a pregnancy, however, the school should have no role in decision-making. That should be done by the student and their family.
ECONOMY
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
Each student signs a contract to repay the funds that were borrowed. By not paying back, only one party to the contract is held responsible. This unfairly shifts the burdent to other taxpayers who did not sign a contract.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I think government funding helps school districts to stay afloat. It's not the funding that's the issue, it's the demands that come along with the funding that creates issues.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Our founding fathers wanted to separate church and state because of the history they lived. They desired to keep the government out of religion, not religion out of the government. Our country was founded on the belief that our rights come from God, not from our government. Government is meant to protect our rights, not take them away.
IMMIGRATION
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.
Strongly Agree
Many Americans have been hurt or murdered by illegal aliens allowed to come into our country with no vetting or screening process. In light of recent events, I fully support law enforcement in their efforts to remove anyone here illegally.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Disagree
These subjects, abortion and gender affirmation, should be discussed by parents and their children first, and not the school. Parents have rights. One of those rights is the ability to teach their children about sex and gender first. If a parent wants to seek out resources for their child, the school should be able to give them the name and contact information about the resources available. However, these resources should not be available at the school, especially if the children are minors.
Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Agree
Yes, there should be consequences for bad behavior. Children crave structure. With that structure, they learn normative behavior. Leaving aside children with special needs or the inability to self-regulate, the vast majority of students want and need a calm and stable environment in which to learn. We need to put education first and not social-emotional learning.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
Those who have not learned history are doomed to repeat it. Our founding documents are rich in history and education. If we are not teaching American exceptionalism, then we are doing a disservice to our youth. This is our 250th year, and American exceptionalism is something we should all be proud of.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
Realizing the negative impact that DESE has had on the education of our youth, I do believe we need to give control back to the states and communities. While I believe this needs to be accomplished, I also believe it needs to be done quickly and efficiently. I don't believe that DESE has demonstrated that that children's education is their priority as the scores in Math, Science and reading have all gone down since their inception.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development
I don't support the teaching of sex ed to my children by the schools. Sex ed should be an "opt-in" requirement and not "opt-out" for students and their families. Mandatory teaching of sex violates my parental rights to teach my kids the way that I want, and not the way the school wants. Schools should stick to the basic subjects of reading, math, science, etc.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
1) Science 2) Mathematics 3) American History, 4) Language Arts, 5) Civics 6) Personal Finances 5) Information Technology 7) Vocational Learning 8) Personal Finances 9) Physical Fitness 10) Foreign Language
Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.
Strongly Agree
I believe that academic achievement should be the first goal of any public school. Schools are there to teach. Buidling character happens in great part by family influence and beliefs
School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.
Strongly Agree
Public schools currently have a captive audience. There are many dedicated teachers, however, the demands currently placed on them do not always relate to teaching. Social emotional learning and other programs take time away from the basic subjects that should be taught. Competition between schools helps all schools become better.
VALUES
Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Disagree
NO! Males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports. Grown women enjoy privacy in rest rooms and locker rooms, and there is no reason that our young women should be different. They have the same right to privacy that we do.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Christian and conservative. My faith is a major part of who I am and what I believe.
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Children belong to their parents, not the government. Yes, the government and schools need to support parents' rights, not question them.
I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Strongly Agree
Judging by the color of skin is merely divisive. DEI has become a division in schools and needs to be stopped.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman.
Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.
Strongly Agree
Yes, mental health conditions need a proper diagnosis and then proper treatment. As a retired nurse, I know that the diagnosis is key in deciding on a course of treatment. Gender dyphoria needs treatment, not affirmation, especially in minors.
School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.
Strongly Disagree
Prohibitions against pornography and obscenity have already been codified into law Just because a book manages to get on an award list is no reason that it should be given to children that are not mature enough or capable of processing the information. Research has shown that children exposed to pornography before they are mature enough to handle it, typcially end up with aberrant sexual behavior in adulthood. This includes rape, incest, addiction to pornography and other aberrant behaviors.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
We cannot have the American way of life without safe and secure elections.

What political party are you affiliated with?
Republican
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to immigration and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
My beliefs are rooted in the Bible.
2ND AMENDMENT
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Agree
I'm in favor of faculty being trained and carrying if the guns are kept away from the children but are accessible in case of an emergency. I would prefer a law enforcement person such as a school resource officer, but they aren't always available.
