QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
That is a decision that is made between the student and parent through their medical provider. It is not the school district's responsibility to assist in this matter.
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Disagree
While I do believe in pro life within my own life, It is not my place to tell others what they can and cannot do with their body.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.
Strongly Disagree
People can lobby by attending local public policies and building relationships with our local state representatives. A school that is supported by its community does not need to lobby the state for funds.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I believe that funding should be given to students who have a proven record of success. It is the job of our educators to rank and distinguish the best, and funding should be given out accordingly. Funding should not be given out based on race, gender, or culture.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Strongly Agree
YES! everyone has the freedom to speak about their religious beliefs, culture, or general interests. We as a community need to understand that freedom is offered to everyone, even if we disagree with those some of it.
School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
EDUCATION
What is the function of the local school board?
To maintain transparency and uphold the standards that are agreed upon by the board, superintendent, and community. It is imperative that we elect board members who have experience and understand how education works.
Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?
The board approves curriculum that is brought to them from the superintendent. He is the one who facilitates the agreed upon resources.
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
When they act ignorant. Citizens who decide to personally attack other people do no good for the district or the organizations that condone that behavior. Everyone has a right to free speech, but when that speech leads to nothing but attacks and pushing extreme agendas it does nothing but hurt the district and embarrass the organizations that practice in that behavior.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning
Mental Health, School Choice advocacy, and proactive strategies to generate revenue without raising taxes.
Which more closely matches your view of America's founding principles? A) Liberty and equality. B) Slavery and racism.
A
What does "equity in education" mean to you?
I believe we should open our district and offer our services to those who live in districts that are less fortunate than ours. The decision should be based off academic achievement, disciplinary records, and leadership capabilities. We should NOT make decisions based off race, gender or culture.
Written parental consent (opt-in) must be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
Strongly Agree
The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.
Strongly Disagree
Schools are failing. We need to find a by partisan approach to making education better for ALL. If we continue to fight only the children of this state will lose.
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.
Strongly Agree
School Choice will only be a positive decision for the Francis Howell School District.
School boards are accountable to parents and taxpayers.
Agree
They elect us, so it is their issues that must be made a concern.
Do you believe students should have access to materials that graphically depict and describe sexual acts?
No
All print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a christian follower.
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Disagree
You should compete in your biological gender.
No school official should be involved in the sexual transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.
Strongly Agree
Therapy to help children turn from unwanted same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria should be banned.
Agree
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
Strongly Agree
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Parent approval should be given when puberty is talked about at the appropriate age. This district already does that effectively, and even offers an opt out for parents who want to teach their child themselves. everything else the school should not talk about or address.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex
Puberty is the only thing that needs to be addressed. Life and parents are responsible for addressing such sensitive topics.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Disagree
Separation of church and state. If you want your child to experience Christian values, then send your child to private school. Our faith is meant to be embraced like a warm blanket, not wielded like a sledgehammer to push our political views. We cannot use our faith to justify educational or governmental control.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Everyone who is a citizen has an ID. Its not that hard
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
A candidate's personal moral values are relevant when considering a candidacy for elective office.
Strongly Agree
You want to elect someone with a strong moral compass who is capable of working with others.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I believe my views on school choice and school transparency make me a republican.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Member of the Pachyderm club active attendee to RCC meetings active debates with progressive candidate fighting for school choice advocacy.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
With a decades worth of teaching experience, I am a candidate who understands how education works and functions from the inside out. It is imperative that we have someone on the board who has the intellect to understand the information that is being given to them. Unlike the other candidates who will just "figure it out". I am a candidate who is ready to start this job and hold this school accountable better than any other candidate.
2ND AMENDMENT
Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.
Disagree
Administrators, not teachers. There is a difference
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?
the only time is when mandated by the state. it is not on the school to require anything without state mandated requirements.
I support mask mandates.
Strongly Disagree
All official open meetings should be live streamed, recorded, and have transcripts available online for public access.
Strongly Agree
All votes should be roll call votes and recorded in meeting minutes.
