RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Disagree

As a progenitor and an aspirant, my predilection is for educational institutions to emphasize the advocacy of alternatives to abortion, encompassing options such as adoption or the instruction of abstinence-based education.

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.

Disagree

Public funds ought to be allocated explicitly for the advancement of educational endeavors rather than being expended on endeavors to influence legislative decision-making.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

Emphasizing the importance of developing a robust and all-encompassing public education framework, which remains equally attainable for students regardless of their socio-economic disposition, cannot be diminished. I assert that the allocation of resources towards public education constitutes an essential element in nurturing social mobility, galvanizing economic proliferation, and upholding a flourishing democratic civilization.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.

Disagree

School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Disagree

EDUCATION

What is the function of the local school board?

The local school board is the governing body responsible for overseeing a school district. Primary functions include establishing policies, hiring and evaluating the superintendent, budgeting and financial oversight, setting educational goals, evaluating performance, advocating for the district, ensuring legal compliance, and addressing community concerns. The school board plays a critical role in guiding the direction and success of a community's educational system.

Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?

I believe that local school boards, teachers, and parents should have the power to decide on the curriculum and resources used. This approach values local control, minimal government interference, active parental engagement, and providing school choices as fundamental principles for an education system that is more efficient and adaptable.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Restricting parents from speaking at school board meetings should only occur under specific circumstances to maintain a productive, respectful, and safe environment.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning

1. Language Arts 2. Mathematics 3. Science 4. American History 5. Foreign Language 6. Physical Fitness 7. Art & Music Information Technology Vocational Learning Social Emotional Learning Personal Finances

Which more closely matches your view of America's founding principles? A) Liberty and equality. B) Slavery and racism.

The founding principles of America are based on the ideals of liberty and equality. The main values expressed in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution emphasize individual freedoms, limited government, and equal opportunities.

What does "equity in education" mean to you?

In my perspective, the notion of "equity in education" encompasses the provision of equivalent opportunities for every student to flourish, irrespective of their origin or prevailing conditions.

Written parental consent (opt-in) must be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL).

Agree

The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.

Agree

Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.

Agree

School boards are accountable to parents and taxpayers.

Agree

Do you believe students should have access to materials that graphically depict and describe sexual acts?

No

All print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review.

Agree

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My convictions, anchored in spirituality, revolve around a singular divine entity, and embrace the ethos of treating all individuals with reverence, dignity, and compassion.

I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.

Disagree

No school official should be involved in the sexual transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.

Agree

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.

Agree

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Parents should play a primary role in teaching their children about sex education, as they can tailor the information to their family's values and beliefs. Parents can begin these conversations at an age they deem appropriate, based on their child's development and maturity level.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex

Sexual education should be comprehensive and include a range of topics that help children make informed decisions about their sexual health and relationships. Topics to consider may include: 1. Physical and emotional health outcomes 2. Contraceptive methods 3. Consent 4. Abstinence 5. Human anatomy/the reproductive system 6. Stages of pregnancy and fetal development 7. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and prevention 8. Healthy relationships and communication 9. Decision-making and personal values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree
