QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

I do not believe in killing babies in the womb.

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

I am a capitalist

School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.

Disagree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I believe that K - 12 publilc education should be free to all children.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.

Agree

One of the greatest challenges the world faces is the danger of war which is largely based on differences in religion. It is important to learn and understand the world religions at some level. Religion should be acceptable as a club in school just like other clubs.

School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

EDUCATION

What is the function of the local school board?

School boards are responsible for crafting the overall educational vision of a district’s public schools, from setting a school’s curriculum, to creating and upholding board policy, to electing school officials and overseeing administrators.

Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?

School boards are responsible for crafting the overall educational vision of a district’s public schools, from setting a school’s curriculum, to creating and upholding board policy, to electing school officials and overseeing administrators.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Parents should be allowed to speak at all school board meetings. The meeting schedule must include time for parents to talk and ask questions. Asking a question doesn't infer that an answer is immediately available or responded to.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning

Reading, writing (Language arts), Mathematics, Science, American History, vocational learning, art & music, foreign language, physical Fitness, Personal Finance, Information Technology.

Which more closely matches your view of America's founding principles? A) Liberty and equality. B) Slavery and racism.

Liberty and equality

What does "equity in education" mean to you?

I do not believe that "equity is education" as it is being discussed today should be part of education. I can see where equity and diversity could be mutually exclusive given some stated goals in society today.

Written parental consent (opt-in) must be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL).

Strongly Agree

Opt in is a requirement for this an any other non standard course as I defined them in #4

The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.

Strongly Agree

Policy should be set with strong buy in at a state and local level. I believe that the department of Education at the federal level should return to pre-1979 standards where the US schools were world wide leaders.

Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.

Agree

Parents are the responsible for their children not society or a village. Those items that I didn't include in response #4 are the responsibility of parents.

School boards are accountable to parents and taxpayers.

Strongly Agree

The school board is elected by the citizens and are accountable to them. School board candidates define what they believe during the campaign and citizens should expect them to act based on those stated beliefs.

Do you believe students should have access to materials that graphically depict and describe sexual acts?

No

I believe that there is inappropriate material that shouldn't be shared with children at different ages. Sexuality is the responsibility of the parents and the individual.

All print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior.

I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.

Strongly Disagree

It is the right of every individual to choose their path in life, but chromosomes don't lie. If you are born a boy you must compete against boys.

No school official should be involved in the sexual transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.

Strongly Agree

Again this isn't the responsibility of the school district.

Therapy to help children turn from unwanted same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria should be banned.

Neutral

This isn't a responsibility of the school, but is an individual and parent decision. Knowing numerous gay people I don't see that this is a "taught" or "learned" trait, but it is who they are. Individuals should have the right to decide who they are.

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.

Strongly Agree

Schools should not make healthcare decisions as noted in the question. This is the responsibility of parents.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Classical Sex education classes have been around for decades. This typically occurs in middle/Junior high school. I believe that classical Sex ed should remain at that level.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex

Human anatomy/the reproductive system, stages of pregnancy and fetal development, contraceptive methods, consent and abstinence.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

Judeo-Christian society of people largely established the United States of America. Our laws and rules of society are based on those moral beliefs. As was written in our declaration of independence: Our rights are from God. Our constitution provides: Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

A candidate's personal moral values are relevant when considering a candidacy for elective office.

Strongly Agree

Understanding who the candidates are and what they stand for and against should be understood for any candidate including School boards.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

My first national election vote was for President Ronald Reagan.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

NA

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Every generation owes it to the younger generations to prepare them to be positively functioning members of society. I believe that is part of my responsibility and the reason I am running for the school board position in Wentzville.

2ND AMENDMENT

Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.

Agree

This allowance will require special and additional training beyond and local/state requirement for concealed carry.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?

I do not believe that the school should have that responsibility. This is a discussion between the parents and their doctors.

I support mask mandates.

Disagree

The recent Covid 19 challenge the world faced created a lot of knee jerk reactions, one of which was wearing masks. I can not say that there will never be a time where masks aren't required, as nobody can predict the future, but Covid 19 wasn't a time to require it.

All official open meetings should be live streamed, recorded, and have transcripts available online for public access.

Agree

Personnel issues is a reasonable exception as I know it.

All votes should be roll call votes and recorded in meeting minutes.

Agree
