QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.

Strongly Disagree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I support public funding of public education; however, I do not support the overreach of the Federal Department of Education or the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Control of our public education should be held locally by We The People. The ideological manipulation in the curriculum handed down by DESE and MODESE is not compatible with most communities here in Missouri, nor is it compatible with our basic American values nationwide. Marxist, Communist and Socialist agendas are deeply engrained in the rules, regulation and curriculum that our schools are being forced to implement under threat of funding cuts. It is destroying our society from the inside. We must put an end to it immediately or we risk losing our country, which is the last hope for freedom in the world.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.

Strongly Agree

School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

EDUCATION

What is the function of the local school board?

The function of the local school board is to govern the district as a whole by forming policies that align with the law, represent the interests of constituents of the district, and ensure that our schools are providing upstanding academic instruction to our students.

Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?

The school district Administration, with consent of the Board of Education, should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula, so long as the resources have also been reviewed and explicitly approved by the Board of Education.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Parents should never be restricted from addressing any governing body during public forum, so long as they are not breaking any laws in the process. Action to silence parents or other constituents in the absence of a violation of law, would be a direct violation of their First Amendment Rights. I would also like to note, that School Board Policy does not supersede the United States or Missouri Constitutions. Therefore, any Board Policy written or enforced, that seeks to censor or silence parents who wish to address the board during public forum, is unlawful and invalid. This is supported by various US Supreme Court and District Court cases nationwide.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning

PRIMARY EQUAL PRIORITIZATION: American History, Mathematics, Language Arts, Science ADDITIONAL PRIORITIZATION: Personal Finance, Art & Music, Physical Fitness, Foreign Language, Information Technology, Vocational Learning

Which more closely matches your view of America's founding principles? A) Liberty and equality. B) Slavery and racism.

A) Liberty and Equality

What does "equity in education" mean to you?

"Diversity, Equity and Inclusion" also known as "DEI" is a poison pill for our society. Although it sounds uniting and "Equality" driven, it is anything but. "Equity in Education" ultimately takes resources from one student and gives it to another. Often times this causes a "dumbing down" effect in the classroom instruction and in the curriculum as a whole, because in order to obtain the DEI meaning of "Equity", students must reach the same outcome. This is not realistic or fair. The student body as a whole will be held back by lower performing students, and this robs society and our children of their true and unique potential. Likewise, this creates a system that drags students forward regardless of whether or not they are prepared to do so, which robs these students and society of their true potential as well. Diversity of thought, perspective and abilities REGARDLESS of race, religion, gender or socio-economic status will help society prosper. Equality of opportunity and resources is one of the great aspects of the public school system. No matter where you come from, who you are, what your strengths and weaknesses are, everyone has the same opportunities and resources within this system, to assist them along the path to the future that they choose and desire. I believe the best way to lead our children, is by our own example of being kind, loving and decent human beings who treat others with respect and dignity. We all fall short of those qualities at times and everyone should be held equally accountable based on their actions, words and choices specifically. I believe that DEI in praxis in our schools is ultimately divisive, destructive, demoralizing and ineffective. I believe it has the opposite effect of the presumed original intention. We are sending the message to our children, that they are inherently winners or losers, and oppressors or victims based on immutable characteristics. We should be encouraging all children to reach their full potential while simultaneously holding them accountable for the actions, behavior and choices at an individual level. Children are hopeful and positive, until someone or something comes along and destroys their optimism. We are treating an entire group of individual people for a symptom of one individual. Take healthcare for example. If a co-worker of yours is diagnosed with high cholesterol, he is treated by his physician for high cholesterol. The physician doesn't treat the entire workplace for one man's high cholesterol in order to ensure that nobody develops or has high cholesterol. The physician would assess each individual patient based on their specific ailments or lack thereof. The public-school classroom serves all students from families of all walks of life. The education they receive should not undermine their family values. And pushing an ideology that one race is more/less superior or privileged than another, is divisive and harmful to children and society as a whole. Children do not naturally divide themselves… until we teach them to. We must stop. Math, Science, ELA, History, Geography, Arts, etc. It is the public education systems job to educate our children in those areas strictly on the basis of facts. There should not be ideology or political opinions in the classroom. It muddies the water and divides people. We need to protect the classroom because the pendulum of politics and ideology is in constant motion, and is bound to swing in the opposite direction eventually. The classroom needs to be neutral ground… not a political and ideological battlefield training facility.

Written parental consent (opt-in) must be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL).

Strongly Agree

I agree with this statement about Comprehensive Sex Ed. However, I do not believe that public education should incorporate Social Emotional Learning in its current form or purpose into the curriculum.

The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.

Strongly Agree

Our public schools are being held hostage financially by unelected government bureaucracies.

Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.

Strongly Agree

School boards are accountable to parents and taxpayers.

Strongly Agree

Do you believe students should have access to materials that graphically depict and describe sexual acts?

No

The K-12 public school system should never provide sexually explicit material to students.

All print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. I believe that we all should treat each other with dignity and respect. Authenticity, honesty, integrity, respect, and empathy are values that I instill in my children and strive to maintain throughout daily life.

I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.

Strongly Disagree

No school official should be involved in the sexual transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.

Strongly Agree

Therapy to help children turn from unwanted same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria should be banned.

Disagree

If a child suffers from gender dysphoria, they should be treated by a qualified physician or therapist chosen by their legal guardian. If a child expresses distress due to a same-sex attraction and independently expresses a desire to alter that attraction, there should be therapy available to them at the discretion and with the consent of their legal guardian. I do NOT support a legal guardian forcing a child to undergo this therapy due to the parents' disapproval of homosexuality.

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.

Strongly Agree

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Parents and legal guardians are ultimately responsible for teaching their children sexual education and the age that they feel is appropriate. If the legal guardian choses to allow the public schools to also teach their children sexual education, I believe that this is appropriate at the middle and high school level, with the parent's explicit written consent and full understanding of the curriculum.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex

Sex Ed may include the topics of Physical Health Outcomes, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Infections, Consent, Abstinence, Human Anatomy/Reproductive System, Stages of Pregnancy and Fetal Development. The only scenario where I would support abortion related topics to be taught at the high school level in public education, would be in a scientific/biological context to inform students of the true, accurate and detailed medical procedures that take place during an abortion at all stages, which ends the life of a human being.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

If elected, I will be a voice for parents and stakeholders and an advocate for students. I will be supportive of teachers reclaiming their classrooms to focus on academics. I will work to ensure the elimination of burdensome, bureaucratic, and divisive policies, as well as ideological manipulation in the curriculum. I believe WSD can resurrect the academic excellence this district was once known for, and better prepare our students to lead us into the future.

2ND AMENDMENT

Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree. The teachers who choose to carry firearms should do so via conceal and carry, and they should be required to attend annual firearms safety and active shooter scenario defensive training.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?

Vaccinations should not be required under any circumstances. This is a personal medical decision.

I support mask mandates.

Strongly Disagree
