QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you..."

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

Discussions with the student's parents/guardians and the student (together) regarding assistance needed for the student to continue her education during the pregnancy and after the child is born.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

A statement written in a letter authored by Thomas Jefferson referring to the government making no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. The "separation of church and state" is not found in the U.S. Constitution. No student is prohibited from exercising their religious beliefs in a public school.

ECONOMY

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Strongly Agree

Students need to take responsibility for the debts that they incur.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

Educating our citizens from 4K-12 is extremely important. Post secondary education is an individual choice.

IMMIGRATION

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

Strongly Agree

ICE is a federal law enforcement agency. Part of their duties are to identify, arrest, and deport illegal invaders.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

Kettle Moraine School District has a committee of local physicians that advises the board and district administration regarding appropriate sex education. This does not include abortion or gender-affirming care.

Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

Kettle Moraine has developed policies and procedures to guide discipline at each school level.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

Some of this is required by state statute and Kettle Moraine already does this.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Local school boards are in the best position to know what their communities expect when educating children.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

See Answer 1 of this Education section. Depending on the age and ability of the student, sex education should include: emotional, physical, and psychological risks of sexual behavior; abstinence, consent, fetal development, human anatomy, pregnancy, and the reproductive system.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Science, Mathematics, Civics, Language Arts, Social Studies, American History, Sex Education, Information Technology, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Music, Art, Foreign Language.

Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.

Strongly Agree

Educating children is the primary purpose of public schools. Academic achievement and rigor are important to prepare children for the future and preserve American traditions and self-government.

School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

Neutral

This depends on the type of choice and how well the public schools are preforming. Kettle Moraine has instrumentality charter schools, which give students opportunities that legacy schools do not provide. Because Kettle Moraine is a high preforming district, school choice outside of Kettle Moraine will not increase improvement. Kettle Moraine is always pushing to improve academically and fiscally.

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Agree

This requires many policies and procedures to avoid injuries and death. Kettle Moraine has secure buildings and School Resource Officers who provide excellent protection of our students and staff.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

NO.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

NO.

I have voted in every local, state, and federal election since I was 18 years old.

What political party are you affiliated with?

Conservative Republican

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to immigration and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

I am a Bible believing Christian and I also believe in our Constitutional Representative Republic.

VALUES

Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Disagree

The Kettle Moraine School Board has already prohibited this.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Bible believing Christian.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Public schools exist to educate children, but parents/guardians have the ultimate say about what their children are exposed to and learn.

I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Strongly Agree

An individual's religious beliefs and character greatly influence how they act and what they do in difficult circumstances.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

God made this very clear in the Bible.

Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.

Strongly Agree

Both are mental health issues which require treatment.

School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.

Strongly Disagree

Kettle Moraine has a policy and procedure to challenge inappropriate library materials. All materials need to age appropriate and some will never be appropriate in a public school.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Only U.S. citizens with photo identification should be able to vote.
