QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
Education from kindergarten to twelfth grade is for learning how to read well, write well, learn math and know social studies, and science. It is not to push political issues that may go against a student's family values.
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
A baby begins forming organs and has a heartbeat soon after conception. When having a sonogram, a mother can actually see the baby forming and hear the baby's heart beating.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Our country was founded on religious freedom and with that comes other freedoms such as private property. Owning property is essential for a society to thrive. In countries where private property is not allowed, citizens are dependent on the government for their living quarters and work. Often times citizens do not have the freedom to choose their career path since their lives are planned for them by the government.
School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.
Disagree
School districts are to use taxpayer money for students and teachers in the district. The school board is responsible in running Humble Independent School District and should have their focus remain on what will improve our schools. Taxpayers are responsible for taking their views on education to the state legislature not the district. Often times the district lobbies for issues that taxpayers do not want.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
First government funding means taxpayer funded. The government makes money by our taxes. I am for funding of public education from Kindergarten to twelfth grade but not college. Not everyone wants to attend college and college is something the individual should pay for himself. College and universities have become very expensive and it is very difficult to pay for a college education; however, nothing is free and raising taxes to pay for another persons education is not a viable solution.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Agree
School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Neutral
Today it seems that only some religions have freedom and others are attacked when they express their beliefs. Christians who are not comfortable making a cake or flower arrangement for a gay wedding are sued and sometimes lose their business. Why not just go to another business instead of forcing a business to go against their religious beliefs.
EDUCATION
What is the function of the local school board?
The function of the local school board is to ensure that the concerns of the taxpayers are heard and corrected if possible. For instance, the board makes sure that spending is not out of control and decisions are made that benefit the education of the students in the district. When presentations in the district are being made to the board, the board should be able to ask questions openly so that transparency occurs.
Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?
The authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula should ideally be a taxpayer decision. Taxpayers, along with teachers, should have the ability to choose the books and other educational materials their children will be exposed too. Having a committee of parents willing to serve and choose books that they have researched and want in their schools is vital for parents to protect their children from any unwanted exposure.
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
Parents should not be restricted from speaking at school board meeting. The first amendment of the federal constitution and Article 1, Section 8 of the Texas constitution states that the people have “freedom of speech”. Parents and taxpayers are the primary stakeholders in the school district and have a right to address their grievances in a public forum. Allowing concerns to be expressed openly allows all citizens to be aware of the problems occurring in the district. One of the first things to disappear when you stifle free speech is the truth since no one is allowed to state their true thoughts and concerns. Furthermore, this gives the opportunity for the board to hear the public and parents grievances and work to improve the learning environment in in the district.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning

Which more closely matches your view of America's founding principles? A) Liberty and equality. B) Slavery and racism.
Liberty and equality
What does "equity in education" mean to you?
We need to have equal opportunity and not equal outcomes. Equal opportunity allows for everyone a chance at an education.
Written parental consent (opt-in) must be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
Strongly Agree
Comprehensive Sex Education and Social Emotional Learning should not be in education.
The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.
Strongly Agree
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.
Strongly Agree
School boards are accountable to parents and taxpayers.
Strongly Agree
Do you believe students should have access to materials that graphically depict and describe sexual acts?
No
All print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review.
Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believer in Jesus Christ. He is my Lord and savior.
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Disagree

No school official should be involved in the sexual transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.
Strongly Agree
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
Strongly Agree
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Their parents are responsible for teaching sexual education to their children.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex
