QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Agree
I beleive that doctor's and nurses who provide this type of care would be better resources to young adults than teachers and coaches who don't feel comfortable talking about sex organs.
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Disagree
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Disagree
School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.
Disagree
If teacher want to use sick days to lobby for or against laws that effect them then they should be able to do so.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
There is plenty of money to fund public education from Pre-k until college. Public schools get a fraction of the money that property taxes pay into and our government needs to release those funds.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Agree
As long as all religions are welcome then I agree with students being able to speak about their religion.
School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
School districts should not be discriminate against anyone. They should lead by example and show teachers and students that everyone has value.
EDUCATION
What is the function of the local school board?
To create and follow policies for the entire district to adhere to. School boards should listen to their administrators, parents, students and auxiliary workers to make an inclusive learning environment for all students.
Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?
The school district should have more authority than Texas TEA to determine what is being taught in classrooms. Not all classrooms are the same and the equity of learning is more complicated than what test scores classrooms are making.
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
Unless a parent is being violent or going over their allotted time to speak they should not be restricted to speak.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning
Language arts, social emotional learning, mathematics, science, foreign language, physical fitness, vocational learning, personal finance, American history
Which more closely matches your view of America's founding principles? A) Liberty and equality. B) Slavery and racism.
Those are too graphically different spectrums of founding principles. I do believe our founding government acted racist and deprived people of the rights they made for themselves. I cannot say with certainty that equality and liberty was their goal for everyone but for the time I think they thought they were providing equality for most. When you can't see all your demographics you can't make decisions for all.
What does "equity in education" mean to you?
To me it means an environment where every child can learn the way they can best. That a teacher can conform their classroom to the needs of their students and not hold every child to the same testing results that the districts wants them to. To give every child a chance of learning despite their differences or disabilities.
Written parental consent (opt-in) must be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
Disagree
I think it should be an opt out option instead of an opt in. Or there should be an adaptive version that all students have to attend and then the more in dept can be opted out. Students shouldn't have to ask to be educated.
The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.
Agree
Agree to an extent. Without federal tax money states wouldn't have equity for at least the minimum standards of education. If only rich states or the states that want their children educated were able to send kids to school we would be back at segregation by classes.
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.
Agree
Parents should be able to chose but they shouldn't be able to drain dollars from public schools because of their choices.
School boards are accountable to parents and taxpayers.
Agree
They're are also accountable to the students they serve.
Do you believe students should have access to materials that graphically depict and describe sexual acts?
Choose not to answer
All print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review.
Neutral
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe we've been put on this earth to grow and learn from everything and everyone in our path. We chose our paths but we all are set at different start lines so there is no way to measure who is doing better or worse than the person beside you.
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Agree
As long as the student has a history of their transition I don't think a student would fake such a hard way and cruel treatment just to win a trophy or a scholarship.
No school official should be involved in the sexual transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.
Disagree
School officials should nit be involved in a child's transition initially but if a student wants to be called by another name I see no difference than a nick name.
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
Neutral
I'm answering neutral because I do not think it should be hidden from parents but I also think that a child (under 18) should have a close family member supporting and counseling them on their choices. Some parents hold there beliefs too far on the spectrums based on their own beliefs. Talking to their children and trying to understand where they are coming from and getting therapy together would be best for everyone.
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
I would like the US to model its sex education based on the way Finland has done it for many years. As early as four students learn consent (to hugging or holding hands) 8 year olds learn proper body part names, etc. The progression of age appropriate education about bodies and sex would be far more helpful than only teaching it in high school when most kids have already experience some amount of sexual activity.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex
All of those topics would be acceptable except sex acts and pleasures of sex. If all the rest of the topics were presented factually and without opinion cut in students would be more equipped to handle sexual encounters as young adults and grown adults. Too many adults dint know how a baby is made and that is our failed public sex Educations fault.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Agree
A large amount of Americans cannot afford or cannot obtain a phot ID.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
A candidate's personal moral values are relevant when considering a candidacy for elective office.
Agree
Explaining your values and beliefs help voters decide if you are the kind of person they want to lead you and whether they want to follow them.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Did not answer
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am passionate about helping others and making my area a better place to live for my family and neighbors.
2ND AMENDMENT
Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.
Disagree
Teachers already have so much training and responsibilities that having to do the training that is required to act in defense of an active shooter would be asking too much of them. If in the future they wanted to take on that liability I would want to know if my child's teacher had a gun and how it was being stored away from students.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?
Schools already require vaccination records and if students have exceptions then if the school has an outbreak if anything they are required to go home until the outbreak is contained. That is to protect disease from spreading and to protect the unvaccinated students.
I support mask mandates.
Agree
When masks were required there was virtually no flu outbreaks in our school districts. It helped keep kids conscious of germs spreading and helped keep the germs to themselves.
All official open meetings should be live streamed, recorded, and have transcripts available online for public access.
Agree
All votes should be roll call votes and recorded in meeting minutes.
