Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I support Governor Youngkin's 15-week abortion ban with exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother. We can all agree there should be fewer abortions, not more, and I am going to work to ensure that pregnant women have the resources they need from charities or the government so they can raise that child, while providing a network that lifts up our community. My wife and I have been blessed to volunteer at pregnancy resource centers, where we’ve been able to counsel young women – and young men – on how they can choose life. And I also think we have an obligation as a society to do more to help young women facing that decision know there are options beside abortion. We must make sure we support life beyond birth, and that means supporting moms and dads who choose life. We should also end funding for abortion and entities like Planned Parenthood.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
We need to work to reduce taxes - especially taxes that hit those on fixed incomes the hardest. I will support lowering the gas tax, repealing legislation that increases the cost of utility bills and ending the tax on veterans' pensions.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Saving money begins with making government more efficient, and that is why we must support Governor Youngkin’s plan to streamline procurement efforts. We must also reduce excessive government spending driven by things like PLAs, mandates and studies.

NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
We need to have a strong, strategic deterrence against terrorism. We also need increased border security.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

We need to encourage LEGAL immigration. In the Navy, I worked with hardworking folks from across the globe who were naturalized or first-generation Americans; they were a huge asset to the service and our country. By encouraging those who want a better life to come here legally and follow standard security protocols, we will support our economy and help more people achieve the American Dream.

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
We need to pass photo ID, not just for Election Day, but for any early and absentee by mail voting as well. We MUST ensure that every legal vote is counted, and doing so means verifying the person voting is who they say they are. This shouldn't be tough or complicated. We also need to eliminate same day provisional or same day registration to ensure the voter registrar has the time to do due diligence on those who want to register to vote.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am going to get results, support tax cuts, and stand up for our veterans while standing with the police officers who keep our community safe. I am also going to work to create opportunities for folks. In my community, there are many who are struggling because the opportunity to learn a trade, join the service, or get a good-paying job isn't made available to them. I am going to work to ensure that these folks are given a hand up, not a hand out. I am the child of a single mom who has lived the American Dream and it pains me to see people let opportunities to improve their lives pass them by.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Virginia already has laws on the books stopping violent felons and others from purchasing firearms. What we need to do is cultivate a culture of life and respect so violent crimes stop terrorizing our communities.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
