QUESTIONNAIRE*
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Never - regardless of the circumstance of a baby's conception, a human life is still a human life. The situation may be tragic; however, the child conceived through a tragedy is not a tragedy him/herself.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
The only determination for a human life to be ended is by God Himself in His perfect timing.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
The Internal Revenue Service should be abolished as well as personal income taxes. I believe in a uniform sales tax on new non-essential items.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would reduce the majority of government spending. There are too many government programs that enable and encourage dependency on the government rather than dependency on self. Charitable programs should be operated by local churches and special non-governmental programs, and the recipients should be well vetted as to their needs.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Government regulations should be rescinded in most circumstances. Businesses should be allowed to operate according to the owner(s)' personal beliefs. This is a foundation of capitalism.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
None - government must stay OUT of church business!
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C - at this time Medicaid and Medicare should be the only taxpayer-funded programs provided by the government. However, these programs need to be phased out as alternative non-government mandated/funded programs are developed and made available to all.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None! We live in a free society and should have free will in personal choices.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
A strong military is essential; in addition, strong consequences to any terrorism or threats of terrorism is also essential.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Disagree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
The border wall and improved border security should be a top priority!
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
America is built on immigrants. As long as an immigrant is in good standing with no negative "terrorism," anti-American, or serious criminal history, he/she should be allowed to immigrate to the United States. Our immigration system needs to be "upgraded" for the citizenship process to be more streamlined.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Every person is entitled to their own religious beliefs. However, this country was founded and has survived to this day based on Judeo-Christian values, and those values are ESSENTIAL to its survival.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
If Judeo-Christian values are the framework of America's morality, this statement should not need to be addressed.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
Please refer to my response to Question #2 - If Judeo-Christian values are the framework of America's morality, this statement should not need to be addressed.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Again, please refer to my response to Question #2 - If Judeo-Christian values are the framework of America's morality, this statement should not need to be addressed.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit - the Holy Trinity. I believe the Bible is the inerrant Holy Word of God. The Bible is my handbook and guidelines for life which are the basis of my morals and values.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Especially for Wyoming I would/will propose: NO "day of voting" registration. Primary candidates should be chosen by their respective parties through precinct-specific voting, NOT by open primaries which allow opposing parties to change their party affiliation in order to influence the primary results. Return to paper ballots and hand-counting only - eliminating electronic voting machines. Institute run-off elections so that a candidate must be elected by a 50%+1 margin. If "day of voting" registration is not eliminated, "day of voting" registrants should be given provisional ballots that are not counted until the registrant's legitimacy is verified. Early voting/absentee ballots are allowed only with verification of reasons for not being able to vote in person on the day of election. NO ballot drop-boxes. Shortened voting/campaigning periods. I'm sure there are more . . .
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I am not sure how to answer this - I would need to better understand the specific issue.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A! Absolutely!
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
I believe the general purpose of government is to have minimal impact on an individual's personal liberties. Government is to enforce the Constitution. All laws should be directly related to our founding documents.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
You can find information on my personal beliefs on my Facebook page - Patty Forgey Junek. The fact that I am now on my FIFTH Facebook page (the previous four having been ANNHILATED) should speak volumes!
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
NO
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
To be honest (which I definitely am!) neither running as a Write-In candidate in the Primary nor running as an Independent candidate in the General was EVER on my life's agenda. My opponent represents himself as a Republican, yet his voting record throughout the years strongly contradict that claim. When no one else was willing to run against him and after much encouragement and prodding, I agreed to "answer the call." I am not a politician. I am a concerned citizen who believes in honesty and integrity and actually representing the people who vote for me. I will serve the people of Campbell County and Wyoming to the absolute best of my ability! People from throughout the entire state of Wyoming want Eric Barlow defeated. I am honored and humbled to be the one willing to set my "personal life" aside and serve my fellow CONSERVATIVE Wyomingites!
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Absolutely none! Citizen gun ownership is the best answer to protecting public safety!
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
