QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
That decision should be between left up to the pregnant person and their doctor. Abortion laws only affect the bottom 90% Americans because the rest can afford to fly elsewhere and get the treatment they need. It is a direct assault upon the upwards mobility of the working class and is therefore Un-American.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Agree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
A progressive style tax rate is the only way to properly grow the economy. When the lower and middle classes are able to afford a decent life, that's when we'll see a return to the American dream. And don't worry, the rich will still be rich ;-)
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would change the focus of our police and military from unnecessary aggressive enforcement to positive community service. Once the rich are more fairly taxed and the bottom 99% can afford to live, the budget will balance.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Agree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
Small businesses and self employed individuals shouldn't have to be forced to do anything they don't want to. However, I feel like a business that wants to grow would be better served to appeal to a more broader audience. This is more of a case by case situation rather than a broad general question.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
I don't believe under current law that they can unless the people at the church are violating some other law. If you're asking when should government be allowed to close churches, then I would say under repeat violations of the situation of church and state. Religion has no business in a modern day democratic-republic. The elected officials should be voting in the manner their people would like them to vote, regardless of what any faith compels them to do.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
100% A. 22 different studies have shown Medicare-for-All not only would reduce the cost of American healthcare but would DRASTICALLY improve the lives of millions of Americans. Again, the upwards mobility of the bottom 99% of Americans is directly harmed by not having this system in place.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
When the health of everyone around is directly affected. We already require vaccines for public schooling. It is a safe system we have currently and I would see it continue.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Same thing it should do to eradicate the threat of Christian, Jewish, and any other terrorism. We should be prepared to eliminate any and all threats of violence against citizens of the U.S.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Agree
We need to help end the violence and let people live peacefully, as long as they're letting others live peacefully
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Disagree
Most illegal immigrants come here legally and over stay their Visa. A physical border won't stop that.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I believe anyone without a ciminal record that is willing to work and live peacefully should be welcomed with open arms. We are a nation of immigrants and we should remain that way.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Disagree
Allowing unqualified teachers to only teach one side of a story is the downfall to education. We need to strengthen our public schools and make sure that students learn all sides of every story
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Disagree
Our government was founded as a secular nation and should remain that way. Separation of church and state is what got us to the top and quite frankly the erosion of the wall between church and state is a part of the reason we're so divided today.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Disagree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Choose not to answer
I have never studied CRT since it is a college law course and I am not a lawyer. However, if you're offended by somebody calling you a racist... you're probably a racist. If I was called anything I knew I wasn't, I would simply shrug my shoulders and go about my day.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Secular Humanist. I believe in Integrity, Responsibility, and the Pursuit of Happiness (so long as you're not harming anyone or anything)
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I'm personally a fan of Ranked Choice Voting. Our elections are among the most secure elections and I'll do what it takes to keep them that way.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Did not answer
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
If the bottom 99% were able to afford to survive again, than the system will start to balance the disparity between the races all on its own. Our focus should be on repairing the income inequality problem.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
B. We have to be mindful of the resources we're lucky to have.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Disagree
Solar and wind are better choices for the planet. I'm fairly neutral in nuclear but if we can make it safe, then I'm all for that as well.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The general purpose of government is not only to secure its populace but to improve the general well being of the population while not infringing upon basic human rights.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Liberal
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Well, I'm new in politics so you'll just have to take my word for it ;-)
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I'm your typical, every-day average American. My grandfather was my hero growing up, he taught me all about the American dream. I work hard, currently I have 4 different jobs. I'm a blue collar 18-wheel truck driver. I take care of my mother, who's disabled and can't walk. I do stand-up comedy because it's a fun passion of mine and I enjoy the night life. And now I'm running for office, because this is a serious passion of mine and I believe that we, as a nation can do better. 50 years of voodoo economics (trickle-down economics) have failed our working class. We can and must do better. Anything beyond this is simply a distraction. Fixing the income inequality is my #1 personal goal in office. I believe in all humans having equal rights. I believe in having as much personal freedom as you want, as long as you're not harming anyone else. I believe that we all do better when we're all doing better, and for the last 50 years, only the top 1% has been doing better. It's time for that to change.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Disagree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I think it should be about equal to car ownership. Our constitution clearly says "well regulated". I feel like if you want something that deadly (like a car) you should be trained on how to use it (like a car) e.t.c... I wouldn't even mind if at the age of reason (21-25) we afforded everyone who is mentally capable and willing, a basic rifle and a training class.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Neutral
