Military spending. As a mortgage underwriter during the last housing crisis our government agencies reinforced the reality that the house cannot get 50% of the budget and the budget still be viable. If FHA says 29-32% is the highest that ratio can go, then that logic is also good enough for our federal budget. Nothing gets 50%.

Our constitution provides protections to all of our citizens and freedom of religion. If you're not interested in making money, why are you in business? Why make this world worse than it already is by turning your nose up to people you see not good enough to even take their money?

Every person in our country should have identification and it should be reasonable for anyone to be properly documented so that they can vote. I've been given grief at the voting booth even with my military ID because I looked like a liberal voter in a conservative town. Identification is being used against voters and we need to stop making voting harder than it already is.

I like our system; I like mail-in and early voting, it should be automatic. It's nice to hold my ballot in my hand and research each candidate before I vote for them. I think DeSantis has access to this information as governor and he knew Nikki Fried was losing and that's why he picked on her on voting day. It's easy for our enemies to create problems and get us fighting each other over something we don't know how to talk about We need to come together to laugh and cry and admit that things haven't always been great but we'd like them to be. Admitting something bad happened and we don't really know why it started or why it lasted so long, but it's been around for generations and it's not helping, would do us a lot of good in this country right now. We really do have more in common with each other than we realize and if we could just start talking and laughing together, I think we could fix this thing. I think now is the perfect time for a politician named after toilet paper to break the ice and get us talking and laughing again, so I volunteer as tribute. I support revoking the statute of limitations on all sex related crimes so that adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, like myself, can seek justice against their abuser.

We've seen too many examples of police officers behaving poorly and being defended. We need to bring a level of standards and expectations that makes it possible for police to defend their appropriate actions but holds them accountable for the inappropriate ones as well. Police officers want their pension for the rest of their lives and they need to be held to a higher standard of expectation because of the level of support they expect to receive from the community they serve.

The Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Air Force, National Guard, Coast Guard and whatever Space Force is. Our police and Sherrifs too, they all have very high standards for regulations. As near as I can tell the only people jeopardizing the security of our free state is the people who refuse to meet the regulations of our militia. The portion of the 2A that gets the most is "infringed", one word does not overrule the entirety of the right. We need to be smarter about who we allow access to guns and what guns they get. Our militia take great care in training it's members and checking their backgrounds. That needs to be a standard for citizens. If our police can shoot citizens in the street or at a traffic stop for having a gun, is that infringing their rights? We have a lot more ways to discuss this topic than we've been using and it's time for us to broaden the scope of the conversation and act like responsible Americans who care about our fellow citizens.
