QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

No private entities should receive funds from government unless it is exchange for goods or services rendered relevant to a legitimate function of government. Ex: auto repair of police vehicles.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Agree

Government has no legitimate standing to deny an individual the right to end their own life, particularly those suffering relentless physical pain from terminal illness, nor to punish those who have voluntarily agreed to assist the individual at the latter's request.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Up until the quickening, and in cases of rape or where the mother's life is in danger.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

Government redistribution of wealth has the opposite effect, but this is the entirely the wrong objective. The correct objective is to lift people out of poverty and improve the standard of living for all, and the most effective way of achieving this is a free-market, price-coordinated economy where income and all property are retained by those who acquired it through voluntary exchange.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

This is the only way to reduce the national debt, as never-ending increases in spending have consistently outpaced ongoing record growth in federal tax revenue, to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Abolish the income tax.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

Religious liberty must be understood as part of liberty overall, not as a set of special exemptions for religious individuals and groups from an otherwise omnipotent government.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Private Individuals and Businesses should never be required to provide any services under any circumstances.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

None.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C for now, D longer term. These programs must end (whether by choice or insolvency), but we should not rush to punish people who have been conditioned or cornered into dependency on them.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

D

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Agree

I strongly support the right of individuals to participate in this movement as an extension of their individual property rights.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Disagree

The threat from China is grossly overstated by the foreign policy establishment and military industrial complex to justify their ever-increasing spending of American tax dollars. China has a fragile bubble economy along with a great deal of economic interdependency with both the US and Taiwan. It has no natural incentive to initiate a conflict with either over preserving the long-standing status quo, so long as Washington DC does not insist on instigating a conflict.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Stay out of the Middle East, stop supporting terrorist groups, and stop inspiring extremism through needless wars in countries and against people who pose no serious threat to the US.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Disagree

The current immigration system is completely broken because it is based on a defective policy of collectivism. No amount of strategy or resource allocation can correct the situation to make the border manageable so long as the underlying policy remains in place.

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

State and federal (tax payer) funds should be denied to all public and private entities, irrespective of compliance with existing (and unconstitutional) immigration laws.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Any human being who is not a wanted violent criminal or carrying a deadly contagion. Abolish all the visa system, all the quotas, and the entire modern bloated immigration bureaucracy. Abolish the (unconstitutional) Department of Homeland Security and ICE.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

Non-discrimination laws should only apply to the government itself.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Disagree

I disagree with CRT (as best I understand it), but on different grounds.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of Mankind, who Atoned for our sins, suffered and died on the cross, and was Resurrected. I believe in the Church organization that he established while on Earth. I believe that all men and women are children of the same God in Heaven and that every human life is precious. Wars should be avoided at all costs. Each of us is entitled to have our rights to our life, liberty, and property respected and upheld completely so long as we do not violate those rights of any other person. Not even the government has legitimate standing to violate those rights.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I am running for federal office, and I believe that elections should be run by the states, so I will not propose any laws to change present voting practices.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Neutral

It's probably not feasible and a proposal that achieves only positive outcomes would be unlikely to get support from the proponents of Reparations.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a belief and perspective. On its own it cannot threaten anything.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Neutral

Government should not make decisions about how energy should be generated.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

I am a Libertarian. I am not conservative or liberal (in the modern sense).

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

https://reason.com/2022/08/22/marco-rubios-libertarian-challenger-blasts-the-senator-as-a-socialist/

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I am a former elected official and a principled Libertarian, committed to stopping the tremendous harm being done by our government through endless wars and interventions abroad, the inflationary and destructive monetary policy of the Federal Reserve, and drastically scaling back the size of the federal government, including abolishing entire agencies like the FBI and DHS, ending the drug war, and ending all foreign aid and corporate welfare. A victory by me would also represent a huge first step in the process of breaking through the walls put up by the two-party system that has done so much damage to our country, and would begin to finally allow real, meaningful change to occur.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Disagree

No one should be protected from the consequences of their actions. Police are given a great deal of power and must be held to a higher, not lower standard than the average, uninformed civilian. Qualified immunity needs be ended.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Neutral

Possibly dealers, but the standard for a successful case should require proof that the dealer knowingly provided weapons that were purchased for the express purpose of committing a violent crime.
