"When you legalize, when you allow, that kind of behavior you're really stealing the dignity of people away. I’ve seen homeless out on the street. They’re in completely survival mode. They can’t turn down that crack pipe. It’s incumbent upon us who aren’t caught up in an addiction to want and expect better from people who are suffering and in trauma. It is absolutely unconscionable for policies like that to happen in Dallas County... That dollar buys a hit of K2 on the street and they cannot resist it." "What we really need to be focusing on is how to get resources to the street. How to access people at the street level, to get them resources, real resources, not crack pipes, not legalizing things.  Because that also lowers the standards for our kids... and its fentanyl-laced...it is dangerous.
