QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion is personal and private medical decision. It is not a question of "BEING" allowed.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Agree
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
The DOD and its contractors cost the USA over a trillion dollars a year. Cutting that budget is a good start.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
No deductions or loopholes. State of the art software and computer systems. Updated to the latest technology. Progressive tax on individuals and corporations. Minimum tax bracket starts well above the poverty level wage. No tax on medication, medical services/equipment, or supplemental plans. Living wage level exceeds the cost of living and inflation prior to paying taxes.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Disagree
There is no threat to religious liberty. Religious liberty is protected in the USA.The attention to this issue is generated by sources that have ulterior motives to incite hysteria among the non-secular population
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Agree
Universal healthcare would remove a large portion of this issue altogether. I do believe a corporation and individuals do not have the right to deny an employee a healthcare service. As far as service to a customer is concerned. A proprietor has always had a right to refuse service. As far as I know there is not a law against it. I would hope that in our culture we could move beyond these petty grievances regarding why one would not provide a service or product to another.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
A separate relationship!
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
All circumstances declared by the CDC to be minimum requirements and/or emergency requirements. Cases by state and local health officials due to reasons regarding emergency conditions in a certain locality. The CDC and the Federal Government is responsible for the health and well being of the United States and its citizens. States may not override Federal and/or CDC mandates
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
A) Most closely matches my stand on healthcare in the USA. The only caveat is outside insurance companies and private medical practice and services are legally allowed to operate in whatever capacity they see fit to do business. Provided they do not have an expectation to receive public funds unless circumstances call for this, instigated by public necessity, and never to impact the everyday healthcare needs of the public, nor burden the trust to the public of service of taxpayer supported healthcare.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
A) As we progress into our undeniable future of water, food, dry land, weather, pollution crisis. The world is getting smaller and smaller. We will not have the luxury of standing by and watching democracy fail in the world. If the old guard of Russia can be defeated and converted into something that is progressive toward an equitable and efficient model we can focus on ourselves and the rest of the world. I mean with our great capacity for scientific and industrial achievement we need to start investing in solutions for the planet and not investing in weapons and armies. We are in trouble. We need monolithic investment in sustaining life itself for our children and grandchildren. Now! Today! If we don't. Our grandchildren will be fighting for basic survival when they are in their 40s and 50s. I know we don't want that for them. I don't have all the answers. I do know we will not war our way into prosperity, clean air, water and plentiful food.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Agree
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
China is creeping towards bankrupting themselves. They are already stretched and on the verge of a construction bubble that will burst. The more independent we can be from China the better. I believe a massive investment in repatriating many of the manufacturing, goods and services back into the USA the sooner China will have to settle and walk bag their single party dreams of owning the world and take care on their own house.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Too late. We failed in the Middle East back in the '80s. Ask yourselves what to do when we facilitated the mass injection of weapons in our own country and can't agree to fix ourselves? We went to there. We screwed around. We left. We went back and forth. We always left it worse than it was, and pretended it would fix itself. Now we have racialists migrating south through Africa. The United States of America is so good at facilitating the growth and spread of terrorism we should just stop. Invest in UN troops and provide support. Also rewrite their UN charter on offensive allocation. Because we are terrible at fixing things. I'm only going to be a Senator for six years at a time. How many Senators would I be working with to "Eradicate The Threat of Islamic Terrorism?" While I write this I am realizing just how myopic this question is.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Disagree
The border is not a thing that is causing problems. Climate, Gang Wars, Drug Wars, Racism, Brutality in our society are the problems. Each of these problems were caused, and or exacerbated by the United States of America! On top of everything I listed we have a political free for all to make the border issue that we created into a culture war. Solve the reasons so many people are fleeing their countries. Teach the history of our activities in central and south America over the last 300 years
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Disagree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone can apply. I do not work for immigration so I will not speculate on the current processes and procedures. I do know it is complex and would like to learn more about the history and processes. Successes and failures.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My personal spiritual path is private.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Agree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
100% Mail in voting with the option of in-person voting. Rank Choice Voting. Extended days and/or hours to vote. Weekend/Weekday voting. Federal voting standards that are not locally influenced by states.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Agree
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes! Racism is a threat to the fabric of all societies. Racism evolves into violence then evolves into domestic terrorism. It is happening now.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Disagree
All extraction of fossil material needs to be drawn down. That is an undeniable fact. Fossil resources will always continue to be used in industry. The scale with which it is processed will dwindle as we gain alternative-renewable energy resources for transportation and industry, and as our science and technology evolve we will find less and less use for it. The undeniable fact is that it must dwell down at a mush faster rate than what it is today.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Neither. For every current energy job there are 9 jobs in the renewable energy sector. The transition is manageable and non-negotiable. This transition has to happen.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Liberal
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
@mchdlny https://www.eracoalition.org/ Curbside publications
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No!
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
In light of the weak response from congress. We can change things with a vote on November 8th. If I am Lankford's replacement as US Senator the following targets are in the top issues for 2024: Amend 2nd amendment clarifying the Natl Guard as the only legal domestic militia. End the Filibuster. Strict gun control and removal of Semi-Auto weapons from civilian and police use. Pass the ERA. Pass a nation wide budget for school systems that exceeds the minimum requirements of all public schools. End the electoral college. The list will continue. Guns today are not the guns of our forefathers. To point out the obvious. They shoot farther, are far more accurate, higher velocity, capacity and are mass produced at a rate that is unfathomable. They are not manufactured in the name of anything but making a buck. They are advertised and promoted as if they were a necessary staple in every kitchen and absolutely necessary in life. They are targeted to every part of society like candy flavored cigarettes. I am for new gun laws. I am for clarifying the 2nd amendment through the legislative process. I will work for the National Guard to be designated the sole ”well ordered militia” in the United States of America. But this is not all that we're about. This is forced upon all of us because of the over the top violence in America and yes, the expansion of the weapons market by US gun manufactures and their lobbyist. We have a violence issue in this country. We have an anger issue in this country. When you treat populations like they are nothing but money sources to be drained and nothing more they will get fed up with life and act out. People with healthcare are more content. People with availability to medicine, affordable, available and reliable housing experience a greater satisfaction in life. Arts, architecture, entertainment, education and the freedom to learn make life enjoyable. Work with me to do this and make us a country and world of cooperation and freedom through Honesty, Hard work, and Fairness. http://MichaelLDelaney.com @mchdlny Shared issues: People who work full time shouldn’t live in poverty Homelessness shouldn’t exist in the richest country in the world Women deserve both equal rights and equal pay. Pass the ERA! Corporations and rich people shouldn’t be able to legally bribe politicians Trashing the planet for profit is wrong and must stop Every American should have world-class healthcare at little or no cost Free higher education (and quality public schools) unlock human potential which benefits the entire country Children should learn the true racial history of America so they can empathize with their peers who are still experiencing these problems and grow up to become well-informed adults Women should make their own medical decisions, not politicians Massively profitable industries, from oil/coal/gas to Walmart and Amazon, shouldn’t get billions in subsidies and tax breaks Children shouldn’t fear getting shot at school When Wall Street steals from us all, they should be imprisoned instead of bailed out
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Disagree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Ban assault rifles. Insurance policies on all guns. Strict storage and safety. Zero personal carry in the united states. Restricted LEO carry of automatic or semi automatic weapons.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Agree
