15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

James Madison said it best in Federalist #51; " If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself."

16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

Constitutional Fidelity: Our Founders created a limited and defined set of Federal powers, enumerated in Art. 1, Sec 8 of our Constitution. We have moved far away from that framework, and its restoration is our nation's economic, and civil salvation. Free Market Capitalism: We must restore our free enterprise system. Cronyism and overregulation/taxation is rotting out the core of our economy. We must get our monetary and fiscal house in order if we are to be prosperous in the long run. Debt: If we do not control federal spending and reform our entitlement structure, our children will be faced with tremendous tax burdens and inflation. We must fix this now.

17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

Abortion should only be permitted if the mother's life is in danger without the procedure.

18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Constitution, (Citizen)

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a practicing conservative Jew. I believe in God and that there is a natural/higher law that governs humanity. I believe that this natural law instils individual rights and values in every person, as described by Locke, Jefferson, Adam Smith, Hume and other great natural rights philosophers. I read and speak Hebrew, and I regularly attend synagogue with my family. My favorite holiday is Passover, were we observe a full Seder dinner and celebrate the Exodus from Egypt, from bondage to freedom. I'm proud of my faith and my culture, and I want to pass it on L'Dor V'Dor (from generation to generation).
