RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Rape, incest, and the option should be available to any woman that may suffer injury that will prevent or limit future reproduction. My abortion views are religious based off of Biblical Law Genisis 2:7. I am aware of other views that cite Biblical history or prophecy that are inappropriate to legal decisions since the first 5 books are biblical law. If a baby can survive outside the womb then it should be given the chance to survive.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Neutral
For abortion, I don’t believe funds should be allocated to private organizations. For government provided healthcare such as is accessed through military service, I still believe it is part of the contract a service member makes as a condition of service.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I believe it is in our state constitution to fully fund public schools from a state level as opposed to pushing off funding on already overtaxed properties. Unfunded requirements need to stop for schools. If laws are made that impact school funds then it needs funded in that law. Furthermore I believe it needs to be made law to stop using any form of property tax for funding state school requirements.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would stop subsidies to profitable businesses. I would make it illegal for politicians to accept funds in any manner from any subsidized business or entity. This is just supply side socialism.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
No, but reforming the loan programs that allow students to be gouged need to end. Additionally, college costs have outpaced inflation, so efforts need to be made to return college cost ratios to match historical minimum wage rates.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
I would agree but think that businesses like these should ONLY be able to hire individuals that have the same moral and/or religious beliefs. Hiring from a free market and expecting anti-free market result is rediculous.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
As a Christian, churches aren’t buildings but the people. How do you close people. In today's world individuals can gather virtually so there is still and opportunity to connect as a group in much the same way as businesses have adapted towards.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
None of these options fix anything with all that is wrong with healthcare.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Millions of Viruses pass between individuals on a regular basis. It’s a fact of life. Most are innocuous and our bodies have adapted to them. My right to swing my arm ends where another person’s face begins. The same should apply to disease. We’ve even treated diseases in this manner when dealing with AIDS so there is prescedence. People have already been prosecuted and are in jail for spreading AIDS. Why is one virus different treated so much different than another?
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Terrorism is funded by oil. Stop using a form of energy production that has been artificially kept relevant while other sources of energy have been actively suppressed by terrorist supporting bodies. I have seen this as a retired member of the Military. Our military has been guarding oil fields since the first gulf war.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Choose not to answer
Again, oil funds all form of anti-Israli/Anti-America resistance in the world. This wouldn’t even be an issue if we had allowed other forms of energy to be developed. I’ve seen this since my first deployment in 1996 well before
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
A sovereign state needs to be able to secure its border.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
It needs to be based on demand to meet population growth targets.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Neutral
School funding must be fixed so that this can become a real program. I would support if our state funded schools like our Ohio Constitution instructs.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I concur to a degree but just because I use a Gregorian Calendar, it doesn’t make me a Catholic. I also believe that government should not make laws that infringe on others rights.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Neutral
Individuals should not be required to recognize gender identities that don’t match their religious beliefs but not all religions share the same beliefs about gender identity therefor making laws that limit designation of specific identities is a religious designation and thus discriminating against specific religions violating the 1st amendment. I believe it is already protected.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Disagree
By definition in this question answers itself. Because it is a religious question no government has the authority to enforce this definition without violating the rights of an individual who has opposing religious beliefs.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a red-letter Christian who believes deeply that conventional Christianity ignores the Benjamite Wolf prophesy in Genesis 49, Ezekiel 22 and finally in Matthew 7 in Christ’s own warning against following the ravening wolf.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I have been talking about security in the voting process and have seen a concerted effort within the Republican party to weaken election security since 2015 but only in 2020 did it become an issue. Over 400 election security laws in the States and US Congress have been killed by the GOP. I think it is great the Republican party has finally gotten on board but they still haven't done anything to secure elections but gerrymander districts to choose voters rather than have voters choose them. The Ohio Supreme court agrees with me (quite a few times).
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
People that advocate for breaking laws are a threat to domestic security.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Disagree
Chattel slavery was the most extreme form of individualized socialism possible. Our constitution had the 3/5ths compromise in it for 81 years and dealt specifically with individuals subject to chattel slavery. I believe the federal government and any confederate state owes tax breaks to a proven descendant of chattel slavery and should only pay 3/5 of the taxes that anyone else would pay, for 81 years. This isn't based on race but ancestry and the duration of the 3/5ths compromise.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
The Earth was here before humanity and will probably be here after. I agree with moving away from oil-based energy because it funds terrorism.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Disagree
Companies that use hydraulic fracking must be able to prove they don’t corrupt surrounding groundwater. Water policy is quickly becoming a much greater issue due to the extremely high demand for water. Water demand is growing exponentially.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The purpose of government is covered in the Preamble of the US Constitution. No other answer matters in this country.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Lean Liberal
I think we often mischaracterize people when we use a linear continuum to describe political ideology. Government must promote freedom both domestically and internationally. I believe we are best served by true capitalism however we live in a supply side socialist environment that actively organizes against labor to keep the public only prosperous enough to enrich the selected supply side socialists who claim to support capitalism.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Did not answer
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Never!
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I retired from the Air Force after a 25-year career working Law Enforcement, Antiterrorism, Nuclear Weapons Security, Combat Leadership…among a great deal many other skills. I believe we can secure schools. Our state is #5 in active shooter incidents, and I don’t believe our police are getting the training they need to counter. I can change that. I’ve gone after people defrauding the government and recovered funds and resources on behalf of taxpayers. For a quarter of a century I bet my life on the fact I could protect our way of life and I am not done yet.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
Generally, I think this is true however when a crime has clearly been committed police officers need to be held accountable. Most real cops who live to a higher standard agree.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
I do not. Police do not get resourced adequately. I do believe more money needs to be directed to police departments to support their mental health. Police have to deal with the grim realities of life that the general public is shielded from and it takes a toll on both their mental and physical health.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe the amendment directs government to provide training on weapons and crimes committed with firearms should fall under military jurisdiction.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Disagree
For manufacturers, only in the same way if an individual is harmed by a defective part. As long as dealers are following the laws they aren’t responsible for the individuals who commit acts of violence with firearms.
