QUESTIONNAIRE*
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
well I myself, am pro-life and would not consider the option of abortion given my adherence to responsibility for my own actions, I would agree to cases of Rape or incest or in a situation where the life of the mother or the baby were in jeopardy at the recommendation of a licensed physician. Most Libertarians would say that the government should not be involved in a person's personal and medical decisions. I feel that my perspective as a Libertarian says a person should be allowed to do what they want, how they want, when they want, and have the ability to make their own decisions regarding that which affects them directly, up until the point in which their choices or actions affect or infringe on the rights of another to include the pursuit of life, liberty, happiness, and all rights guaranteed by the US Constitution to any citizen within its jurisdiction. I would enter into discussions with fellow Representatives to come to a conclusion in which a baby is considered a viable form of life respecting both sides of the conversation and coming to the conclusion on which that baby should be the just recipient of protections afforded to it under the US Constitution to include the right to life. At that point in the pregnancy I would not condone abortion as it would infringe on that baby's right to life.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
I would not agree to Public funding of abortion procedures with money University collected from taxpayers due to lack of consensus amongst the population regarding the legality and or morality of abortion procedures. All other funding of that institution with the exception of abortion should be enabled as government funding is normally allocated.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Government does not have the right to close churches, mosques, temples or any other place of worship.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Stop involving ourselves in their business. Stay out of middle east entanglements and quit blackmailing them with the petro dollar. If we would have done this in the first place like Ron Paul said years ago, we would not have had to fight 30 years of wars in the middle east at the cost of trillions of American dollars and THOUSANDS of brave American veterans and the health and mental affects of unwinnable wars. We spent trillions of dollars to replace the Taliban with...the Taliban and created ISIS in the process. I do not consider this a success or an intelligent effort in any semblance of the matter.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
We should absolutely quit involving ourselves in any foreign entanglements, especially in the Middle East. All we have done is create more chaos, more violence, and a generation of people that feel the need for revenge against us for our involvement and interference in the first place all in the name of oil. we are not the world's police. If other nations feel this is in their best interest, let them involve themselves at the cost of their economy, safety, security, and death of their troops.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C. to ensure those in poverty and the elderly on fixed income or social security will still be able to access basic healthcare. I actually believe that even those programs should be eliminated as the force of public opinion will force care providers to voluntarily provide healthcare philanthropic options to the most impoverished and those on fixed income.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Government should not be involved in your personal healthcare decisions in any way. You are responsible for your own safety and your own choices to protect yourself. Schools are government run so they fall into this category. Employers that require vaccinations will suffer the results of their own decisions when they are not able to maintain a workforce that does not submit to mandatory medical procedures. Those employers that leave the decision to their employees will garner the support and employment of displaced workers.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
We should abolish the income tax and institute a "fair tax" or "consumption tax" with exceptions for common goods or "pre-bates"
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would want to be apart of that conversation to understand the proposals being made from other representatives and have accurate and unmitigated access to information required to make that determination.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Highschool education should prepare a child to enter the workforce with basic skills and life skills. College is a personal choice and is not necessary for a child to have a fulfilling and profitable career. This is a choice, not a necessity and even if it were, it must also include the option for taxpayer-funding of private education as well.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
I support legal, vetted immigration but absolutely do not condone or support illegal migration. All borders and ports should be secured immediately. Even legal immigrants support this. A close friend waited 2 years to immigrate legally, while others chose to violate our laws with their first step across the border, skipping ahead of legal, law abiding applicants, and placing an undue burden on an already struggling social system that can't even take care of our own citizens properly.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone wishing to apply, having been vetted for criminal background or terroristic intent, as long as we can justify the numbers allotted per year, and I fully encourage the use of sponsorship to reduce the strain on an already struggling social support system.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
I fully support parental choice in education. I fully support Universal School Access. This proposal has worked in Wisconsin and their school systems are outperforming ours. We need to model successful programs like in Wisconsin for the betterment and success of Iowa's education system and the success and fulfillment of our students. I have a full page describing my support on my website at www.sean4ia71.com

VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Disagree
We are a nation of many religions and values reflected in our morality. Those values are not singularly represented in our modern population. Limited government is reflected by people who desire to live in peace, coexisting with their neighbors, to be left alone to pursue their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and as long as their choices do not infringe on the rights or property of others, they should be free of government interference and prohibition.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
We already have laws protecting the biological gender of all people from discrimination. What difference the assumed identity a person chooses is inconsequential. Given the choice to identify as one gender or another is viewed and practiced as fluid, any such regulation is irrelevant.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Disagree
I do not believe a church or religion should be forced to perform a marriage if it goes against their beliefs, there are others that will. In the matter of government recognizing a same sex marriage, there should not be any encumbrance to a same sex couple to be married in the eye of government. I personally believe the government should not be in the business of contractual relationships and thus should leave the practice of marriage out of government.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Disagree
Racism certainly has existed and does exist in our systems however, I do not believe that reverse racism by praxis is in any way a rightful or constructive solution. We have resolved racist practices from the days of slavery to civil rights for all to witnessing the first minority president and have institutions in place to resolve or prevent current or future practices of racism. We can continue to resolve any future issues through constructive methods and elimination of classist policies.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised catholic, but do not practice any form of organized religion. My personal beliefs or spirituality are my personal business and should have no bearing in my performance of representing the people of my district.

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
