QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that her answer should be, " Access to safe and sanitary abortion is a precondition for women’s social equality under capitalism. We are for abortion being legal and rare, and for addressing the conditions that drive women to, often in desperation, end a pregnancy. This means access to the resources needed to maintain a family—for example; adequate wages, childcare, time off, and health care. These can only be won through working class struggle. We are for a revolution where the working class takes political power and can lead the transformation of private work of the home into public industry, which is one of the conditions for true equality between men and women."

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Did not answer

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Did not answer

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Did not answer

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that her answer should be, "Following the victory of the First American Revolution, the Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution under the pressure of protests by small farmers demanding explicit written guarantees against government interference in their lives and political activities. The first of these amendments forbids the government from establishing a state religion and from prohibiting anyone from free exercise of the religion of their choice. It also forbids the government from placing any limit on freedom of speech, or of the press, or “the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” The stakes are high for working people in defending constitutional rights, including freedom of worship. They provide protections from government interference, as working people seek to unite to defend ourselves and our families to fight for better wages and working conditions, health care, child care and campaign against the rulers’ wars."

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that her answer is, " Thorough and adequate health care should be guaranteed from cradle to grave. Precluding this is that health care is not organized on the basis of profits, as a business, but on the basis of providing the care needed. This will only be possible under socialism, which will organize society on the basis of human need and solidarity, not on profits and exploitation."

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Did not answer

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that her answer is, " The working class must defend the unconditional right of Israel to exist as a refuge for Jews in the face of capitalist crisis. The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign paints all Israeli Jews as the enemy, and often targets Jewish-owned businesses abroad. Israel is a class-divided society and what is needed there, as in other countries, is a perspective to unite working people — Jews, Arabs, Christians, Druze, and immigrants — in struggles for their common interests against the exploitation of capital. The only roading to ending the threat of jew-hatred is to advance the proletarian revolution."

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

ABOUT YOU

iVoterGuide Notes:

Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that her answer is, "Opposing the expanded use of the government's political police, first and foremost the FBI, is at the center of the class struggle today.  The Cuban revolution and what it achieved is an example for working people in this country. We must defend the revolution today against the economic and political war waged against the socialist island by Washington. Supporting workers in struggle and building solidarity is an important part of our class gaining the strength and confidence it needs. We support workers on strike, including UMWA coal miners at Warrior Met in Alabama, BCTGM bakers at Ingredion in Iowa and at Corn Nuts in Fresno, and UAW workers at Case in Wisconsin and Iowa. Workers must use and strengthen our unions to organize and defend ourselves against the bosses and their government, to take political power and create a new world—a socialist world."
