OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion should be allowed in cases of rape, incest, and medical necessity. Voluntary abortion should be allowed up until viability of the fetus.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Remove the grocery tax first, remove the income tax second, remove all other taxes and fund the government through donations last.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

We can reduce economic stimulus first, then work through government waste, and then reduce the entire size of the government.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

College is not the only educational path. Since it is a choice to attend college, individuals should be allowed to determine their own educational path in adulthood.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None. Government should not be allowed to close a church.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

D, we need our healthcare sent entirely back to a laissez-faire market with zero government interference.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Government should require none. Private businesses should be able to choose their own policies without fear of government interference. If the private business has bad policies, the market will respond with loss of customers and employees.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Stop creating more by stopping the bombing and stopping weapon sales to the Middle East. We create many of our own problems.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Neutral

We should leave the whole area rather than act as a policeman either way.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Agree

We need a strong border to keep out criminals, but we should allow much more immigration.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Everyone except those with criminal records.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Disagree

Limited government should only enforce victim crimes. Judeo-Christian values applied to law end up criminalizing non-victim crimes.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Disagree

Because marriage is used to legally benefit couples, the gender of the two people in that couple should not matter.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Neutral

There are clear examples of racism in the country, but I think CRT goes too far because it does not recognize where racism does not exist.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My beliefs are between me and god and I do not wish to impose my beliefs on anyone since I do not wish others' beliefs to be imposed on me.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

Voting security is essential to having a fair election, but a photo ID does not have to be the method.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Require a hidden flap for the signature on the mail ballot. I have dropped mine off in person every time because I don't trust my signature going through the mail on the outside of the envelope.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism can lead to violence, so I think it would reduce domestic security.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Agree

I think the government should pay reparations, but only to those who had ancestors that were promised wealth in exchange for fighting in the civil war or those who had ancestors who were enslaved. The U.S. paid slaveowners for their loss of property, but never compensated the slaves after the U.S. failed to protect their freedom.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A, let the market decide what is appropriate.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

As long as the hydraulic fracking company is held accountable for any damages, they can operate.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The only role of government is enforcing victim crimes and protecting freedom.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

None available. I support a laissez-faire market, which usually puts me conservative although I am liberal in regards to social policy.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I'm running for a freer tomorrow. I hope to be a champion of liberty in the Utah House.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Disagree

Any immunity an officer has should be immunity a citizen has.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Neutral

Ideally I'd like all three to be funded by donations.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. Let everyone arm themselves.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

Firearm dealers do not pull the trigger, so therefore should not be at fault for what an adult chooses.
