QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
Should receive in cases of rape; incest; life of the fetus, baby, and mother.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
In terminal cases, one should have the right over their own body to have a painless death.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Rape; incest; life of the fetus, baby, and mother; and those under the previous Roe decision.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Agree
SNAP, Medicaid, healthcare subsidies to purchase insurance, and college and vocational school grants and loans help those who can't afford it to climb the ladder into the Middle Class.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Disagree
Wasteful spending on redundancy inter- and intra-agency should be reduced to cut spending.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Enforcement and penalties of those who don't pay their taxes, a 15% minimum tax on corporations who net more than $10 million per year, and the payment of payroll taxes of those who make $400K per year or more.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
Christians, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Mormons, Buddhists, Hindus, Pagans, Taoists, Indigenous religions, Satanists, and Sikhs, etc., all must be able to worship, free of governments telling them when, how, and if they can, as long as it doesn't infringe legal physical harm on others or animals. Nor should governments' laws be based upon any of them or their texts.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Agree
If we don't serve all, then I guess we can go back to the days of the KKK claiming their faith doesn't allow them to serve black people in their establishments, while using Biblical text to do so. We all pay the same taxes for right-of-ways like roads and bridges. No one person or government requires another person to work for themselves or work for a company or corporation.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
Separate. Full Stop. Governments shouldn't tell us what we can and can't do based upon any type of religious text.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
All vaccinations before the Covid vaccine should be required. Otherwise children and people will start dying again from things like polio, tetanus, cancers caused by HPV, etc. Once the Covid vaccine is on the market for 5 or more years is the only way I would support requiring it. One has free will to find the job that best suits their needs.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
B. Medicare, Medicaid, VA health, and ACA subsidized insurance should be strengthened and NOT privatized. A 26-64-year-old buy-in to Medicare should be allowed if someone doesn't like their employer-based insurance.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
B. We should've never gotten into Iraq and Afghanistan. They didn't ask for our help and weren't the perpetrators of 9/11; Saudi Arabia, Bush 43, and Cheney perpetrated 9/11, either directly or by complacency. Ukraine has asked for our help. Republicans and Democrats must stop both being doves like they were in the 1930s until 1941 when Pearl Harbor was hit.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Neutral
Jews, Christians, and Muslims should be treated equally by the Israeli government.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
A new branch of the military should be started: the Cyberspace Force. Cyber security is too broken up between all the branches and should be centralized.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Have consistent peace talks to show that we believe God loves them just as they do Christians and any other terrorist.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
A physical wall will not slow down illegal immigration. Republicans don't talk whatsoever about the illegal immigration from Asian countries and Russia of people who show up with valid visas and passports and just never return home, nor the number who come through tunnels from Mexico.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Disagree
If one party in charge of government decides to deny state and federal funds to a city because they aren't following immigration law, what stops another party from withholding funds to cities that don't follow climate change policies they enact? The power you give yourself, you also give to your enemy. The legal remedy is to sue the city in court for not following immigration law.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
1.) Those being persecuted for their religious or political views. 2.) Those whose economies lack the jobs to sustain life. 3.) Those in war-torn countries. 4.) Those seeking jobs we are lacking workers, such as in all forms of healthcare.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Agree
The government and your neighbor should have no power to tell you how to live your life. No one should be discriminated against for any reason.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Neutral
I haven't studied enough about it to form an opinion. It wasn't taught in my primary, secondary, vocational, undergraduate, or graduate classes. I do think institutions started before the Civil War were set up by Caucasians, for the benefit of Caucasians.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a born-again Christian who finds truth and non-truth in almost all religious faiths. I'm a former Southern Baptist who resigned their membership and now identifies mostly with the Unitarian Universalist Christian Church.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
The election commission of each county should provide, free-of-charge, a plastic photo voter registration card.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Only 1 Primary Day and General Election Day for each election year. First Saturday of June for Primaries and first Saturday of November for General Election days. Both election days would be federal holidays. Voting times would be 6am-9pm in all states. Eliminate the Electoral College because Republicans don't vote as much in California because they know it's usually going to go for the Democrats, and Democratic voters don't vote as much in Tennessee because they usually know the state is going to go to the Republicans.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Agree
The reparations should be in the form of free education under a certain income limit and free healthcare. Poverty equals illness; illness equals poverty. Adequate access to down payments for home loans and small businesses needs to be expanded.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes, it is. The mainstream media and political parties have riled people up over race to a point of not being able to talk about it in a coherent manner where all sides are heard. This is because political parties want to create a distraction to continue the corruption. Many Caucasians see they are not going to be the majority race in a decade or two and that immigration of non-whites is occurring faster than Caucasian births, and they are resisting this change. This is why the Supreme Court overturned Roe - to force Caucasian births in red states to keep the majority of the country white.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Disagree
It is disrupting the mantle of the Earth and causing unnecessary earthquakes. We need to be using more solar and wind power and expanding the use of battery storage for homes to use to lower the need for oil, natural gas, and fossil fuels.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
B. The environment is already being destroyed enough; while some is cyclical patterns, man is contributing. We should be the keeper of God's land and what He's given us, not exploit it where nothing is left for future generations.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
When I talk to Democrats, they say I'm not fully Democrat and they don't agree with everything I stand for; when I talk to Republicans, they say I'm not fully Republican and they don't agree with everything I stand for. Some can hear rings of both parties in my opinions. That's how I know I'm in the middle.

https://thekennel.substack.com/p/wayne-steele-d-tn-for-us-representative?r=1mkafi&s=r&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I'm a regular, working man. Not some politician, or doctor, or attorney who doesn't know ho we common folk live. They don't know what it's like to live hand-over-fist at points in one's life, or all the time. The last common person in Tennessee's 4th Congressional District was a farmer and newspaper editor from Shelbyville, TN, in 1871. I really have too many legislative priorities to list in 5,000 characters or less. Unlike other politicians that only put a sentence or two about topics, and run on one or two issues, if you go to my website, there's an array of topics that I'm detailed about where I stand. There are many points you'll agree on and disagree with.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Disagree
If the departmental policy violates state or federal law, the police officer should be prosecuted. They're there to uphold the state and federal Constitutional, not departmental policy if they conflict.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
I think police departments' budgets should be greatly expanded to include mental health crisis teams in conjunction with mental health facilities so the mentally ill don't get locked up without adequate care. It's not an all-or-nothing issue; both are equally important. Police officers are usually not trained in mental health crises.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
1.) If police aren't going to go into an active shooter situation because they're scared the shooter has a higher-powered gun than they do, then the public doesn't need AR's or AK's. With that said, we can outlaw the sale of these guns, but many pistols are also semi-automatic and can deliver the same if not more rounds if altered in the right way. If the sale is outlawed, we will never be able to get the ones already sold off the street. Trying to collect them by force will only start Civil War II. 2.) People under 21 should not own guns because their brain is not fully developed. 3.) Red flag laws to report people who are unstable should be implemented, with high fines for reporting someone falsely. 4.) The mental health and stability of this country is in crisis, and we need to expand healthcare and eliminate the stigma of mental illness so people will get help before committing crimes.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Disagree
You don't sue Jack Daniel's when a drunk driver hits or kills someone.
