QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Any reason that a woman deems is best for her.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Disagree
Abortion is essential medical care for women - 51% of the population - it should receive the same funding as other essential medical center.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
Once someone has learned that their death is imminent, they should be able to choose an end with dignity.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
A flat tax for all - regardless of income, previous deductions, or previous tax shelters. Everyone contributes equally according to what they earn.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
When the US is not in an active military campaign, that budget should be reduced. Cut pensions for public servants/elected officials making double or more than the national average salary. Cut minimum drug sentencing and release those convicted of personal use amounts of illicit drugs.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Agree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Churches that are used for illicit purposes and/or proven instances of abuse of the congregation.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
B - Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
During a public health crisis, to avert a public health crisis, or to suppress infectious diseases that were once a public health crisis.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Continue to interrupt the funding of known terrorist groups, work with national security organizations of various countries known to have terrorist groups, and work to identify and disrupt potential splinter terrorist groups.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Agree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Disagree
Instead, create a system for migrants to safely enter the US, be registered as guests while they await the official registry. Each person will be assisted in finding housing, and work and will contribute to the economy. Guests should have an opportunity for education, health care, and support to assimilate. There's enough room and work for anyone who is willing to register as a guest worker.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Those without ties to terrorist or violent groups, those who do not have a criminal record, those who do not have issues with registering as a guest of the US government.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Disagree
Public school is currently available to all resident children. If parents/guardians wish to move their children to another option, that will be their financial responsibility.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Disagree
The separation of church and State is a critical element of freedom in America.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a contract between consenting adults.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Agree
The US history using other races for economic gain or critically endangering their way of life must be taught without prejudice as part of owning their role in it.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Each person is worthy of love and to pursue their own path to become their best selves. There's no need to judge a person based on their spiritual beliefs and values but by their efforts and deeds.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Neutral
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Voting is paid time off, each adult is required to participate in elections with minimal exceptions, mail-in voting is the default for all eligible voters.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Did not answer
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Neutral
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
B - Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. (especially if put in the effort to retrain people to participate in new industries or environmentally shifted sectors)
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Disagree
The US must be willing to shift to sustainable energy sources and to become far more efficient with the energy we consume.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To provide services and temporary safety nets for its citizens.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Liberal

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
Patriotism needs participation - I believe you serve your community in all ways you're able to. I want to improve the quality of life for future members of my community by legislatively working to preserve air and water quality, increase public transit, manage sustainable housing opportunities, and making Utah public education the best in the country. These, and many other ideas, can bring an outstanding quality of life to this incredible place to live.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Disagree
No person is above the law and while an investigation may be needed to review actions, all should be accountable for their actions.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Agree
I support mental health professionals working in the lead with police to help people who need mental health support and services.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
No citizen needs any type of automatic or semi automatic weapon. No citizen needs military style weaponry outside the military. All guns should have a license demonstrating the owner understands how to operate it safely and this should be routinely renewed as a drivers license would.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Agree
