RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortions will occur regardless of the laws. The real question to be asked is should they be medically safe, or not safe for those who don't have financial means.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
The question is largely irrelevant and seeks to holistically frame candidates' in down ballot elections by distracting voters from the issues that actually matter on more localized concerns.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
The question is largely irrelevant and seeks to holistically frame candidates' in down ballot elections by distracting voters from the issues that actually matter on more localized concerns.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Vague question. If this is about the federal tax code then the question is irrelevant to my running for a state senate office not a federal office.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I'm running for a state senate office so this question is irrelevant.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Choose not to answer
Pell grants and G.I. loans have been success stories.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Obviously the questioner knows the answer before asking the question.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
B
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
The question is largely irrelevant and seeks to holistically frame candidates' in down ballot elections by distracting voters from the issues that actually matter on more localized concerns. If I were seeking a position with the CDC I might provide an answer, but I'm not.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
The question is largely irrelevant and seeks to holistically frame candidates' in down ballot elections by distracting voters from the issues that actually matter on more localized concerns.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Neutral
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is largely a government-controlled institution.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I cannot do this briefly and besides the question is largely irrelevant and seeks to holistically frame candidates' in down ballot elections by distracting voters from the issues that actually matter on more localized concerns.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Agree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Our elections are very secure. "Don't fix it if it ain't broke."
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Of course it is. Racist hate groups have increased in number and are more outspoken than ever.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Agree
I feel that something of this nature is the right thing to do and needs discussion among many people.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
B. People can change from jobs that pollute to jobs that contribute to a cleaner environment and leave our children with a planet that has hope of continuing to support life. The transitions need a strategy that recognizes that time is of the essence in balance with an understanding that transition can't occur overnight either.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Disagree
Certainly the method has been cost effective for the energy sector businesses, but the practice has degraded the environment.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
This depends on the type of government.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Choose not to answer
I have found people who are "Labelists" very tiresome. "Labelists" are lazy and seek easy means of framing who others are around them to expedite their institutionalized paranoia of the other by assinging a label to them. Many folks, for example, I know who claim to be conservative don't realize there are different kinds of conservatives.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
No. This is a good opportunity for the people who ask these questions to do their own homework.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
Voters should know that I will work to identify problems at their source and work to find solutions. I've served my community for ten years (1999 to 2001 and then 2014 to the present) by being a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical responder. Volunteer responders comprise 80% of all emergency responders in Arkansas. The percentage is even higher in rural areas such as where I live. In 2017, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette reported that the average age of volunteer responders is between 60 and 65. Recruiting younger adults has been difficult throughout the state but is necessary to replace those that have retired or left out of caution for potential exposure to SARS-Covid virus. That is the first problem. My suggestion is for a recruitment bill that will provide a stipend to students at fire academies. Among a general demographic of young adults there are two essential barriers to entry: time and money. Young adults can't scarcely afford either while raising a family and/or working an extra job in addition to a full-time job to afford housing and food on the table. A slight variation for the non-paying/volunteer districts would be to offer pay per incident. This would provide an increased incentive for volunteers to respond and reduce morale issues. The second problem is that the 1,003 fire/e.m.s. districts in Arkansas are in a gradual transitional period of phasing in digital communications systems to replace the 20th century analog equipment. Responders face many risks and the public has high expectations for their abilities when the need arises. But now the responders need the voters' support to put real leaders in the statehouse that will see a smooth and expeditious means to establishing a network of radio communications that is compatible between counties, agencies, hospitals, emergency helicopter and other services. The state needs to lead in supporting the funding needed in many of the 75 Arkansas counties where they have been left to find their own financial means for funding their transition. This leadership also needs to mandate a compatible platform for large disasters such as tornados, floods and wild-land fires that require inter-county communication - - - which is currently not possible today. Many districts, even many whole counties, simply do not have the financial resources to effectively make these changes which runs into the millions of dollars per county. The voters need to know that this is not a bipartisan issue. Emergency responders don't care how you voted or if you attended church last Sunday when they come to extinguish your house fire, or pry open your car door with the jaws of life. So we are all in this together, folks! We don't ask to see your vaccine card before placing you in an ambulance. Lastly it should be noted that volunteers receive the same training as the fully paid counterparts. Furthermore our nation's volunteer responders save taxpayers as much as $140 billion annually, or about one-fifth of the budget for our nation's Department of Defense. Please take four minutes to view my video on these two issues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu_B7J-QXis
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Disagree
The prosecution should have an opportunity to question whether this "conduct consistent with departmental policy" and not simply leave that to be ascertained by the department's administration.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Choose not to answer
Who keeps coming up with these transactional hypotheticals? Can't we fund both?
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
There is a false assumption that all Democrats are opposed to the Second Amendment. In Arkansas this couldn't be further from the truth as nearly every Democrat I know owns at least one fire-arm. The state is about the fourth in gun ownership per capita. There are lots of good ideas for improving the public safety but I'd expect this controversy will go on for decades.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Choose not to answer
The ability to sue is not a guarantee of winning the suit. Perhaps the argument could be made that the First Amendment protecting free speech should protect anyone's right to sue. Just a thought, I'm not sure I'd support that, but I don't support massive dark money campaign contributions either.
