QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion is the direct and intentional killing of an innocent human being. It should not be allowed. If there are medical conditions where the life of the mother or the unborn child are at risk, the role of the medical doctor is to try and save them both. This is not always possible.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

It is not the role of the government to steal from one person to give to another. The gap that has been created has been in large part due to government policies which have benefited large corporations and financial institutions over small (< 50 employees) and mid-size businesses (less than 300 employees). Most small and mid-size businesses would be better off if government would just get out of the way.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Establish a simplified and equitable flat tax system for individuals and businesses to limit (and eventually eliminate) the Internal Revenue Service and the impact of lobbyists. Immediately get businesses out of the tax collection business.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

It was the founders' intention that there would be no government or state sponsored religion. The People can worship as they wish. The government would have no involvement with any church or religious body.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None. There is much confusion (some intentional) regarding Jacobson vs. Massachusetts which is often cited as proof that the government can coerce or demand a medical intervention. This decision actually allows for the state to "require" vaccinations with an opt-out option of paying a small fine.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

None of the above. Healthcare costs have exploded in large part due to governments role and the large tax benefit given those who receive healthcare through their employer. When a good or service is subsidized you have more demand for it. This is fundamentally unfair to those who are self-employed or unemployed and need to purchase a reasonably priced comprehensive or catastrophic health policy. Employers don't pay for your car or home insurance. Do they? I would support either the immediate elimination of the tax write-off for corporations or let all tax payers deduct their healthcare expenses at dollar one...just like businesses do now. I also support the ability to buy healthcare across state lines. The competition will immediately decrease costs and increase options.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Protect its borders from invasion by those who enter unlawfully.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

People who are willing to go through a lawful immigration process and who have taken an oath to abide by the U.S. Constitution and its laws.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

I support outlawing the teaching of CRT and sex-oriented curricula for children in government schools.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian and my values are based on biblical teachings.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Voting is no less important than going to the bank, the doctor's office or getting on a plane. It follows logically you should be required to have photo ID to exercise the very important privilege of voting.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Paper ballots at polls with watermarks. Require photo ID. Absentee ballots should be requested in advance by those who are disabled or physically not planning to be in the voting district on the day of the election. No early voting. No ballot drop boxes.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No, it is not. However, there are people who are purposefully threatening our security by intentionally creating division under the guise of racism in an attempt to fundamentally change America.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

Can be done in a way that does not harm the environment.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Question is too broad. Stricter relative to what? I am a strong believer in the stewardship of our environment but at what cost. The impact on jobs and the economy needs to be considered strongly.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

Without a clear definition of any of the terms above it is impossible to select. I believe in traditional and biblical values and principles.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Koffee with Kline: https://youtu.be/pkdufE8eTWQ

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

Information about me and my legislative priorities are spelled out in detail on my website, VOTESOBO.COM

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Choose not to answer

Police should be held responsible for constitutional violations and their oath. Police departmental policy is not law. Example, Title 18, U.S.C., Section 242 Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

Police department funding is for the protection of the men and women who live in a city, county or the country. If additional funding is needed for other purposes it should be funded separately.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Criminal background checks. Other restrictions on commonly used firearms and ammunition for law abiding men and women do not protect public safety but infringe on 2nd Amendment Rights and actually harm public safety.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

This begs the question, why are gun manufacturers selectively picked for prosecution? Why not sue auto manufacturers, knife manufacturers, sword or hatchet manufacturers if these products are used to commit a crime or used accidentally or intentionally and someone is harmed? Example, an automobile is used intentionally to harm and kill people by a mentally ill person operating the vehicle. Does it follow that everyone who owns that vehicle should now not be allowed to drive it?
