As a former physician, I know Planned Parenthood provides essential healthcare, including cancer screenings, birth control, STI testing and treatment, and preventive care. Taxpayer dollars should support access to these services, particularly for patients who have few healthcare options. Federal law already restricts taxpayer funding for abortion. We should not defund essential healthcare simply because a provider also offers abortion care.

As a former physician, I believe decisions about pregnancy should be made by a woman in consultation with her healthcare provider and trusted persons, not by politicians. Abortion should be legal before fetal viability, with exceptions afterward when necessary to protect the life or health of the mother or when severe fetal complications arise. Every pregnancy is different, and complex medical decisions belong with patients, families, and their doctors.

I believe human life has profound value and deserves respect, but I do not believe government should define legal personhood as beginning at conception. As a physician, I know pregnancy can involve extraordinarily complex medical circumstances. These deeply personal decisions should be made by women, their families, and their doctors, not politicians.

As a former physician, I support protecting access to IVF and allowing families to make deeply personal decisions about fertility treatment with their doctors. Embryos created through IVF deserve thoughtful and respectful handling, but granting them legal protections that prevent their disposition could severely restrict fertility care. Government should not make these difficult medical and family decisions for patients.

As a former physician, I believe patients should be able to access safe, FDA-approved medications through their healthcare providers without politicians using a 150-year-old law to interfere in medical care. The Comstock Act should not be used as a backdoor national abortion ban. Decisions about reproductive healthcare belong with patients and their doctors, not the federal government.

Wisconsin’s minimum wage of $7.25 has not kept pace with the cost of living. I support a reasonable, gradual increase that helps working people earn more while recognizing the realities facing small businesses, farms, and rural communities.

Free enterprise and private property rights are fundamental to our economy and our freedom. Wisconsin thrives when farmers, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and working families have the opportunity to build something of their own and benefit from their hard work. Government should protect property rights, encourage competition and innovation, and provide fair rules without unnecessary interference.

Strengthen independent audits and require agencies to act on findings of waste, fraud, and mismanagement. Eliminate duplicative programs and bureaucracy while protecting essential services. Modernize outdated technology and processes to reduce administrative costs and improve service. Increase transparency in contracts and spending so taxpayers can see where their money goes. Give local communities more flexibility to deliver services efficiently, instead of a one size fits all model.

To me, separation of church and state means government should neither impose religion nor interfere with an individual's right to practice it. Faith is deeply important to millions of Americans and has an important place in our communities, but government should not favor one faith over another. Protecting religious liberty means protecting everyone's right to worship, or not worship, according to their own conscience.

B. As a former physician, I believe every American should have access to affordable, high-quality healthcare. I support a public option that gives people another affordable choice while preserving private insurance for those who want it. In rural Wisconsin especially, we need to reduce uncompensated healthcare so we have stronger hospitals and clinics, and greater access to primary, mental health, and specialty care.

I strongly believe in protecting patient privacy. Government can and should use anonymized public health data to understand healthcare costs, improve outcomes, and identify where resources are needed. But Americans should not have to sacrifice their medical privacy by being placed in government databases simply because they have an ongoing health condition.

In Wisconsin, protecting American innovation also means protecting our farmers, manufacturers, small businesses, and workers from unfair competition and the theft of technologies they worked hard to develop. We should be firm in defending American interests, strengthening domestic manufacturing and supply chains, and working with our allies to deter aggression. At the same time, we should be clear that our concern is with the policies and actions of the Chinese government not it's people.

Israel is an important strategic partner of the United States. Our countries cooperate on national security, intelligence, cybersecurity, technology, agriculture, and economic development. I support Israel’s right to exist and defend itself while also believing that American leadership should promote peace, protect innocent civilians, and support the dignity and security of both Israelis and Palestinians. This is not inconsistent with criticism of Israeli government behavior in Gaza.

I support enforcing our immigration laws and securing our borders, but I am deeply concerned by ICE tactics that create fear in our communities and fail to respect due process. Local police should focus on public safety, not act as federal immigration agents. We can enforce our laws while treating people with dignity, protecting constitutional rights, and keeping families and communities safe.

I strongly believe parents, teachers, school boards, and local communities should drive decisions about what happens in their schools. But eliminating the Department of Education risks important federal funding and protections for students, particularly children with disabilities and students in communities with fewer resources. Rural Wisconsin schools need more support and more local flexibility—not fewer resources.

Foreign governments should never be allowed to buy influence over what American students are taught or compromise sensitive research and national security. But a blanket ban could also eliminate legitimate research partnerships and educational opportunities. Foreign funding should be fully transparent, closely scrutinized, and prohibited when it threatens our security or academic independence.

Parents should have a strong voice in their children’s education, health, and well-being. Schools and healthcare providers should work in partnership with families, respect parents, and communicate openly. At the same time, government has a responsibility to protect every child’s safety, ensure access to education and appropriate healthcare, and safeguard children from abuse or neglect.

As a physician, I believe decisions about a child’s healthcare belong with families and qualified medical professionals, guided by evidence and the individual needs of the child. Supporting a child who is struggling with their gender identity is not child abuse. Children deserve compassion, careful evaluation, parental involvement, and access to responsible healthcare—not politicians making deeply personal medical decisions for every family.

Marriage is a deeply personal commitment, and every American should have the freedom to marry the person they love. Government should protect equal rights under the law while respecting that different faith traditions may hold different religious beliefs about marriage. No church should be forced to change its beliefs, and no government should deny a loving couple equal treatment under the law.

Adults should generally be free to make their own decisions about how they spend their money, and government should not unnecessarily restrict those choices. Gambling should be legal, transparent, and responsibly regulated, with appropriate safeguards against fraud and exploitation. I trust Wisconsin adults to make their own decisions.

I believe we must live with love and respect for all our neighbors, we must protect the vulnerable, and always seek peace and kindness in our life and work.

Mental health professionals should practice compassionate, evidence-based, professional care that allows them to openly explore questions about identity without judgment, coersion, or a predetermined outcome. Therapy decisions belong between patients, families when appropriate, and qualified, trained, licensed professionals.

Every eligible citizen should be able to exercise their fundamental right to vote without unnecessary barriers. Photo ID laws are not effective at stopping voter fraud but are good at voter suppression. Voters should be able to verify their identity through multiple secure methods, not only a specific government-issued photo ID. We can protect the integrity of our elections while ensuring seniors, students, rural residents, and other eligible voters are not prevented from casting a ballot.

I believe we can protect fairness in women’s sports and privacy and safety in sensitive spaces without treating every situation the same. Schools, athletic organizations, shelters, and correctional institutions should be able to establish reasonable policies based on safety, privacy, fairness, and individual circumstances. Government should focus on practical solutions rather than broad mandates that take these decisions away from families and local institutions.

The science is clear that human activity is contributing to climate change, and Wisconsin farmers and communities are already dealing with changing weather patterns. We should act with practical, commonsense solutions that protect our land and water, support farmers, encourage innovation and American energy independence, and reduce pollution—without imposing unnecessary burdens on working families and rural communities.

There is no single solution. Wisconsin needs an all-of-the-above strategy that includes nuclear, natural gas, renewables, and emerging technologies. Our priority should be reliable, affordable American energy that keeps the lights on and costs down.

The primary goal of the criminal justice system should be keeping our communities safe while ensuring justice and accountability. Victims deserve justice, and people who commit serious crimes must be held accountable. At the same time, when rehabilitation, mental health treatment, addiction treatment, and successful reentry can prevent someone from committing another crime, we should invest in those solutions. A system that reduces repeat crime makes all of us safer.

The U.S. Constitution and our federal and state laws must always be the law of the land. No religious doctrine, Islamic, Christian, Jewish, or otherwise, should replace American civil or criminal law. At the same time, our Constitution guarantees every American the freedom to practice their faith. We can firmly uphold both the rule of law and religious liberty.

I support the Second Amendment and the right of law-abiding citizens to own firearms. Public safety laws should focus on keeping guns away from violent criminals, domestic abusers, and people who pose a clear danger to themselves or others. I support strong background checks, responsible gun storage, and enforcement of existing laws, while opposing measures that unnecessarily burden responsible gun owners.
