RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I am absolutely against elective abortion as contraception. Sex has always had pregnancy as a potential result and murder is an immoral (even as an agnostic atheist) way to escape that responsibility to a new innocent life. This does not include Plan B, however as I do not oppose its use to induce a period. Abortion as a procedure to save the mother's life should absolutely be protected. I find it distasteful in instances of rape and incest and would encourage adoption, but I could not tell a rape victim that she must carry the product of the violation. If an abortion is carried out for a rape and Plan B was not an option, I believe a criminal report should be filed. If the rape charge is proven false, the woman should be charged with murder and false rape report, and have the maximum sentences for both consecutively.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Neutral
I'm not certain I could advocate for the continued and guaranteed suffering of the victim of incurable diseases when they are of sound enough mind to request an end to it. I am certain that government should have no business in promoting it like we've seen in Canada recently.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Ideally, abolishing the income tax would be the best outcome. Government services should be funded like any other service: voluntarily. In all practicality however, abolishing the state sales tax on groceries and reducing fuel taxes would help everyone. By groceries, I mean raw foods and formula. The WIC food list might be a good start for food tax exemptions for everyone. Snack foods and soda would not get that treatment as they are not raw foods.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Arkansas: We have a balanced budget amendment, but I'd like to see charity and voluntary funding replace as much as is possible. Federally: I'm not sure 5000 characters is enough, but bringing the troops home and dropping foreign military bases from triple-digits to low two-digits while cutting the Pentagon's budget by at least half (We are NOT the global police and its time we stopped acting like it), phasing out the insolvent Social Security and Medicare programs, ending the Dept. Of Education (evident lack of improvement since inception), ending all corporate and private welfare. The list of things to cut is almost as big as the federal government itself.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Taxpayer-funded is to say it should be funded by armed robbery under the color of law. No thank you.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
The Right to peacefully and voluntarily associate or disassociate should be respected. The Right to protest the business's stated reason should also be respected.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
I can't think of a good reason outside of serious fire code violation or acts of violence within or sanctioned by the church itself.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
D. Any measure funded by taxpayers is indisputably funded by armed robbery under color of law. Voluntary funding and charity is the only moral solution.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
First, I wish it to be understood that I left Tyson Foods when they demanded authority over my medical decisions (C19 vaccine) to maintain employment. I considered it a breach of ethics in any number of ways including a change in terms of employment. They had no authority to do so. That being said, employment is a voluntary agreement and all terms should be expressly announced and agreed to when initiated. No one takes a job without compromises large or small, and everyone must determine their own "line in the sand" as an informed individual exercising their own autonomy. Being prepared to eject must be on the list of possibilities if the situation is intolerable. Schools: parents should take the appropriate steps to protect their children with the advice of a trusted pediatrician. Schools, government or private, should understand they do not own the children. Government should have no say whatsoever. We either own ourselves or are enslaved to the State; there is no in-between.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Stop invading & occupying their countries, overthrowing & funding their despots, and influencing their governments. We have military bases in far too many countries, including the Middle East and Africa. None of them are USA territory. They rightfully oppose that occupation like you would a neighbor setting up a tent in your backyard and arms himself with a rifle...or if ISIS set up a camp in Florida.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Neutral
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
Strong fences make good neighbors and migrants should be using "the front door."
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Vetted and supported refugees and immigrants who can support themselves while they build their new life. I'm not educated well enough on the topic to give a better answer.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
If education must be funded at the barrel of a government gun, then the funding should be used as the parents of the child best see fit. As Corey DeAngelis says, the student should be funded and not the system.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I wish those values had more influence over those that are in government; we wouldn't have the tyranny and bloat we have now.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
It is far too much of a political bomb to incorporate into discrimination suits. It can be declared at a whim and has no defined limitations.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Neutral
So long as it is a government license, government dictates the terms when it must serve all citizens and residents. Remove government from the religious institutions if the religions want to define their institutions.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
CRT is a ideological coup designed to make Maoist Struggle Sessions an American institution based in reverse-racist self-flagellation to signal virtue for tribal acceptance. It must be called out as such & denied sanction in civilized society. To be shunned by its adherents should be a point of pride. Our nation was formed in the values of self-ownership & liberty. Its one failure was from the time in which it was tried. To call that its feature instead of an unavoidable bug is ahistorical.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Agnostic Atheist, rational empiricist: I want to treat others like I'd want to be treated, and I believe what can be measured and reproduced.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
Voting is influencing what ideas government enforcers use violence to gain compliance for. The least a voter can do is prove they have the authority to influence the process.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I'd change voting to Ranked Choice Voting with the requirement that None of the Above be an option in all offices.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
We gave up "sins of the father" as a prudent judicial and societal concept centuries ago. It was immoral before and it is just as so now.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A. Private ownership has shown better stewardship of the environment in countless different ways, and regulation stifles innovation. Employment of people to build new technology and environmental conservation during that production is the natural outcome of responsible and moral entrepreneurs.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect the liberties of its citizens.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Lean Conservative
None of those truly fit. I am a libertarian. Government exacerbates nearly every problem it "fixes," but there are traditions and standards that maintain the ability to exercise liberty and make a successful life.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
None
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
Lower taxes & spending Education Choice (funding follows kids, not institutions) Defend The Guard Reintroduce SB298 All Gun Laws are INFRINGEMENTS Decriminalize narcotics - reduce non-violent incarceration Medical Freedom - Right to Try (?) End subsidies and contracts for companies with vaccine requirements Nullify bad Federal laws through the 10th Amendment Principle over Populism, Principle over Common Ground
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Disagree
We've seen this allow the policing we currently have. End Qualified Immunity and victimless crimes.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Neutral
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None, all are infringements. Full-auto should be available online. Silencers should be in vending machines and part of polite society as both hearing protection and neighborly noise abatement. All guns should be undocumented. The NFA should have been abolished in Miller v. US.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
Guns are tools and subject to the whim or restraint of its user. Smith and Wesson is no more responsible for shootings than Estwing is responsible for assault and battery.
