QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Neutral

State and local grants are a local issue not involving Congress. Due to religious and spiritual considerations, federal grants to abortion providers should not be used for abortions unless specifically consented to by the individual taxpayers.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

This is a state and local issue and it should not be determined by congress.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

US Congress does not have the authority to pass abortion controlling or restricting laws under the 10th amendment of the United States Constitution. Congress is also not involved in approving or selecting supreme court justices. Therefore congresses role in the abortion debate is very limited. Protection of abortion rights provided for by the 9th Amendment of the United States Constitution can be considered at the federal level. Federal abortion rights protection for some abortions will need to be structured in a non-partisan way to help avoid and defeat court challenges.

iVoterGuide Notes:

Staff note: After evaluations occurred, candidate notified iVoterGuide that the intended answer to this question should have been:"some early term abortion rights are protected under the 9th Amendment of the US Constitution, otherwise this is a state and local issue as outlined in the 10th amendment of the US Constitution." Having a strong US economy with low inflation and no baby formula shortages will help reduce the number of abortions in the US.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Disagree

The government needs to stop giving out cooperate handouts and bailouts instead.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

Spending, Deficit Spending and Inflation are all out of control. This is leading to huge interest rate hikes and an out of control housing crisis. It will be a decision of the residents of CD-7 based on polling data which federal programs to cut and by how much.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Here are a few of the many issues with the existing tax code: Taxpayers should have control over what programs their tax-money goes to, "Capital gains" tax should not be collected on inflation. The inflation rate should be automatically dedicated from the capital gains tax. We should not be paying a 17.99% lumber tariff with Canada when we are in the middle of a housing crisis. There needs to be a federal law stating that if we are in a housing crisis the lumber tariff with Canada is automatically 0%. Other tax code improvements, modifications and changes will be brought up based on input from taxpayers in CD-7.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

One example of this is draconian COVID restrictions in several states that closed places of worship, separated families, restricted travel and limited gatherings (even outside)! After that several governments and companies fired employees for not taking a vaccine even if they had religious reasons not to take it.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

This is a very general question, but typically it is not proper to force people to provide a service that violates a moral or religious belief. The most recent example I can think of is when a federal department spent taxpayers money on torturing puppies. Taxpayers should be able to keep money from going to that department until the practice is outlawed and certified to have been permanently stopped.

iVoterGuide Notes:

Staff note: After evaluations occurred, candidate notified iVoterGuide that the intended answer to this question should have been:Disagree. It violates 1st amendment religious freedom rights to force individuals and small businesses to provide a service that violates their religious beliefs.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

There should be no discrimination or preferences given based on anybody's or any organizations religious or lack of religious beliefs.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Only for extreme close quarters occupations like some military, or some health care occupations if n-95 masking is determined and proven not to be effective.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Generally having federal government monopoly health care is not effective, however this is a decision that the residents of CD-7 should make, The priority needs to be looking at ways to cut costs that have been skyrocketing for decades.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C The department of defense needs to be focused on defense of the USA, not offense. Getting involved in oversees conflicts usually will make the situation much worse than if we never got involved. Most of these middle east conflicts we have been involved in lately fall into that category.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Neutral

This should be a decision of the voters of CD-7

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Neutral

I agree there is a significant cybersecurity threat from communist China, there is much less of a threat in the other areas.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

The threat of this is minimal, but we do need to get out of all of these foolish middle east wars which are the root cause of a lot of the terrorism.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Neutral

This needs to be a decision of the residents in CD-7 if we need to be spending more for security on either the southern or northern borders.

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Disagree

Generally disagree with doing this because right now we have completely outdated immigration laws developed in the 1920's. They are in desperate need of being updated.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anybody who gets a work visa and has gotten a job in the US should be allowed to come here. There should also be basic background checks and health checks for all immigrants prior to entry.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Agree

It is covered under the existing civil rights act.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Neutral

It is true that there are and have been lots of racist institutions in the US and US history ranging from the FHA, Presidents, State Governments, Schools, Hollywood and much more, however the reasons for that are quite complex and asserting that all institutions in the US are racist is not accurate.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe strongly in treating everybody with respect and listening to all viewpoints on an issue, It is important that the divisiveness going on in this country be minimized and we need to be working together on common goals to help CD-7, and Colorado. There is a lot of spiritual inspiration we can all get to help us out on this important goal.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

This needs to be a voters decision on if it is preferred to do in person voting with IDs or mail in voting based on addresses and signatures. There are advantages and disadvantages of both methods.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

No taxation without representation, we fought a revolution to make this happen, but there is no law and nothing in the constitution that requires doing this.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Agree

Agree on this for reparations based on a government caused gross constitutional violations such as the Japanese prison camps during WW2, or the army spreading radioactive waste over poor neighborhoods in St Louis in the 1950's and 1960s.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

It can be. The US has been enforcing a racist war on drugs for decades. This war has prosecuting and jailing thousands people on minor drug offences that are targeting minorities while we have been letting out violent criminals at the same time. This war on drugs is a federal policy leading to both higher crime and higher amounts of racism. The latest round of this is the White House targeting the criminalization of menthol cigarettes that are the same as regular cigarettes but are heavily used by minorities. The racist war on drugs has got to stop!

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

As long as it is done safely and not negatively impacting existing residential homes and water sources.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

It depends, environmental laws can help up to a point, eventually the cost becomes to excessive and it can negatively impact the economy if the laws are too stringent.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

My preference is to have a neutral position as much as possible and provide the residents of C-7 all sides of an issue including Democratic, Republican and Libertarian viewpoints. At that point the citizens will have the tools to make an informed decision on the issue. My job as a representative is to follow the will of the residents of the district on all issues.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

My Facebook page as several videos where I discuss this

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

no

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

My priorities are the same as the residents in CD-7, some topics I have heard is the housing crisis, providing term limits, voting integrity and the economy.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Neutral

Officers and Firefighters should be immune from bogus frivolous law suits, but not clear situations of police brutality or blatant disregard for citizens rights.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Neutral

This should be a local decision based on local community needs.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Violent criminals should not have access to guns, the easiest way to do this is if they are in jail. I will listen to other ideas from residents in CD-7.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Agree

Yes, but only for either a direct violation to the law from either the dealer or manufacturer or a defect in the firearm, which made it more dangerous.
