QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Abortion is a private medical decision that should only involve the person seeking one while obtaining truthful medical advice from their medical provider.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Neutral
Private medical decisions should remain private
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Neutral
Planned parenthood should disband it's PAC as long as it receives federal funding.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Agree
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
The same as Mark Cuban's: if companies aren't paying workers enough, then they are forcing tax papers to subsidize them through government programs. Companies should respect what their workers decide is fair.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
Choose not to answer
Uncertain about this
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
If there's crimes actively being committed within them
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Agree
If they are a business that serves the general public (ie not a private club or explicitly religious organization)
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
B, this closely mirrors the German model of healthcare which is more effective than the UK system of directly managed healthcare.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
When demonstrated to be effective against debilitating illnesses (ie polio, mumps, etc)
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Neutral
About as dangerous as any other country attempting to obtain Intel and materials from the US (and they have done this before and currently).
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, good diplomatic relations with countries is vital for free trade and peace.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Neutral
More comprehensive and streamlined immigration process would be more effective (Ellis Island style immigration, send back people who cannot pass a background check instead of current plan of busing them to "blue" states).
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Neutral
Too many special interest groups push for vouchers because it's a taxpayer subsidy to private schools that won't/don't follow public education standards. If private schools don't want government interference they shouldn't ask for government handouts. Kids also shouldn't be forced into public schools solely for regional reasons if that school isn't a good fit for them.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Choose not to answer
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Choose not to answer
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Neutral
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Disagree
Churches/clergy should have the right to decide what couples they wish to marry. Couples can call themselves married if they want to, and no church gets to stop that.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Christian- I value the teachings of Jesus such as mercy, grace, generosity, and prayer being about a personal connection to God.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Neutral
Mail voting should be based on state ID registration database. In person voting should require ID
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Disagree
It doesn't neutralize or eliminate the electoral college: it only pledges electors to the candidate who receives the national popular vote, which could force a state to vote for a candidate who their people didn't want. National ranked choice voting would be a better replacement to the EC.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes, racist extremists seek to infiltrate law enforcement and the military to misuse federal credentials/materials to harm people.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Agree
FDR abused the federal government to inter Japanese Americans who did nothing wrong during the second world war. The government denied the GI Bill to black veterans in World War II. Literacy tests in the south were not objectively administered, resulting in countless black Americans being denied the right to vote.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Neutral
Harassment is harassment, it doesn't matter what your orientation is- harassment in a shared space is still harassment regardless of who does it.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
D, reducing carbon emissions will help conserve resources in case of a catastrophic global conflict, and reduce the greenhouse effect resulting in more predictable weather cycles for higher crop yields.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear and Solar
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect the rights of the individual
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Lean Liberal
Generally Libertarian, lean liberal
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Neutral
Police/sheriff departments should turn over most jail/prison services to community organizations in order to dedicate resources to training, certification, and creating reserve auxiliaries to supplement shortages in shift coverage. Police officers should work 10 hr shifts which promotes alertness and improves work-life balance.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
All firearms sold/transfered should have serial numbers Firearms dealers/sellers should do their due diligence when selling a firearm, including running a background check (background check software and related costs should be tax deductible as a business expense). Lautenberg amendment should remain in effect. Stronger penalties for misuse of a firearm (brandishing, negligent discharge, etc)
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
It should be a matter of conscious for teachers, and ultimately up to the individual school districts upon recommendation of local law enforcement (school security when trained correctly is typically sufficient to deter and respond to sole shooters)
