QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I agree, "every stage" needs protection - and protection includes affordable housing and healthcare for everyone, childcare, feeding programs/benefits, senior care, youth care, etc

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Neutral

Planned Parenthood offers general healthcare services like birth control, pregnancy support and cancer screening. These services need support.

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Yes, I believe health care providers should provide this type of treatment - particularly to make sure the child does not suffer, and providers should have some type of social service agency partnership to help plan next steps/placement of the child.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

First, statistics say nearly half the women who have abortions do so because of the lack of finances to take care of the child. This is even true when women are in a stable or unstable relationship. In short, whether in a stable or unstable relationship, most women would choose to keep the child if they felt like they could afford to do so with or without a partner/relationship. - With that said, there needs to be a focus on better pay/equal pay, healthcare and childcare. I have also spoken to many women who have been placed in that situation, and they felt as if they had more options, they would have chosen differently. I certainly understand medical situations [life/death of mother], rape, incest, and more options.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Neutral

I believe it is a shared responsibility between and amongst the government, individuals and private entities. As we know some people are not able to work for a number of reasons and it is the duty of the government to take care of its citizens, especially when an individual is not able. Government needs to provide a check and balance system to help set and uphold safe work environments, the environment in general, and fair pay along with unions.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

Freedom of choice is good, owning assets are good, And, there has to be a check and balance system in place to ensure greed does not take over and destroy the environment/land and people. [a balance between public safety and business freedom]

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Agree

There are both public and private colleges. Public colleges should receive the tax-payer funds. Noting, a highly educated workforce attracts jobs and would help IN to compete globally.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Currently, Indiana is operating with a budget surplus and reserves. I would examine administration costs to see if we are duplicating services within our state agencies. If there are duplicate services, we can reduce spending there first.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Neutral

I believe there should be a distinction between a marriage and an union - both come with rights and privileges. For instance, the right/privilege to add a love one to your medical insurance policy, and name as a beneficiary.

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

Again, checks and balances are needed to ensure public safety, and religious liberty does deserve protection.

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Choose not to answer

I will protect the freedom of people to share the truth and practice truth/biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

People have the right to worship or not worship without fear of government punishment for their choice. Again, a balance is needed to make sure that public safety is protected, no official national church

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Agree

Yes. Universal healthcare is working well in other countries, and it can work for the Indiana/US too. Healthcare is a human right. Healthy people make productive workforces and healthy communities - economically and socially. The government can partner with big pharmaceutical companies in the same way they have partnered with tobacco companies. In short, pharmaceutical companies can pay into a special account much like the tobacco companies for the damage/injury they have caused to individuals.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I would ask pharmaceutical companies to pay into a special account much like the tobacco companies - for the damage/injury they have caused to individuals. We know pharmaceutical has helped many people, and they have hurt people along the way unintentionally and intentionally. Again, this is a shared responsibility - mainly between the government, pharma, and employers have a role too. Healthy people make productive workforces and healthy communities - economically and socially.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Neutral

While I agree a strong military is 'a way', I believe that economic ties/strong trading partners is a better way. I believe this because strong economic ties makes conflict 'mutually' destructive to ones' financial well-being.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Disagree

I think policy changes are in order. I believe processing rules need to be changed to better handle legal claims effectively and reduce unauthorized crossings. Additionally, we can hire more immigration judges to process cases more efficiently. We can also utilize technology to better monitor remote areas and cargo/vehicle lanes. And, at all times treat people, especially women/children/seniors with dignity and respect during the entire process.

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Disagree

Again, at all times, Human Beings/Children/Women/Elderly/etc. deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Denying funds damage community safety, and their are other ways to reach compliance goals - such as adjusting their cooperation framework to match specific statutory limits [honoring warrants signed by a judge vs administrative requests.]

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

US Law already speaks to family based immigration, employment based immigration, humanitarian protection, and other who follow the immigration process, medical checks, background checks, etc. At the same time, we have a duty to ensure the process is effective and efficient, and streamed line so that it is not confusing or over burdensome.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

Neutral

I believe in the 'Golden Rule', treat people right, the way they should be treated - be it a religious tradition/value or core moral principles. There has to be a general understanding. With this type of general understanding, no one would have to ask whether or not we deny funding to a city in order to starve other human beings for immigration compliance. Instead, a more moral alternative way would be sought for immigration compliance.

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Agree

Yes. Human beings should be able to find jobs, homes, schools, etc., and live without worrying about being discriminated against.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a believer in Christ. I value every Human Being. I believe we are all equal in value.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Agree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Agree

The national popular vote/individual citizens vote should determine the President of the US.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes, according to the US National Security [FBI/DHLS] racially motivated violent extremism [white supremacy] one of the most lethal domestic terrorism threats to the American homeland.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Liberal

I am a blend between somewhat liberal and moderate. I prefer more of a balanced approach to addressing economic, social and environmental issues - a practical compromise with a moral compass - so that all human beings are treated with dignity and respect - while balancing free-market growth with some government oversight for public/environmental safety.

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I have attended multiply town halls regarding data centers, and the harm that they bring to communities from air, noise and water pollution to its effects on nature/wildlife. I am in support of economic growth but not at the expense of severely harming human life, nature, etc. I am part of the advisory board for East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center with Zina Bartle - where I focus on youth entrepreneurship, which helps to break the cycle of poverty, via the National Lemonade Day Program, etc. in Madison County

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Master's in Legal Studies, Master's in Government, Bachelor's in Telecommunications. Certificates in grievance handling, negotiations and mediation. Director with budgeting, problem solving, decision making, policy creation and implementation experience

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

NO

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am qualified by education, experience, and most of all because I care about Human Beings first - over profit.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Neutral
