RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Disagree
Schools need to be teaching the most accurate and useful knowledge available and if it comes from the Mayo Clinic or Planned Parenthood, as long as it is vetted to be unbiased and accurate, I encourage all businesses to get more involved in public education. We can start by getting the big corporations to pay their share of the taxes for educating their future work forces.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion is not an action to be allowed or prevented. The body will naturally abort many different unviable zygotes and cannot be completely prevented. Once an embryo develops to the point of cognitive brain function then every effort to maintain life should be performed just as we do for all people. Cognitive brain function is used to determine the continuation of all medical efforts and is the established policy of the medical community and I support the judgement of unbiased medical professionals.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

All people are created equal with the rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Our Government's very foundation says that it must work to ensure all Citizens the opportunity for a Life where you have the Liberty to Pursue your Happiness. If our Government is able to provide that to all of it's citizens then it is achieving it's goals.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
A common knowledge base and educated populace is vital to a strong society. Tax paying citizens should fund the future tax paying citizens education to continue having tax paying productive citizens.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Marriage is a religious institution and should not be interfered with by government. Why should Government define what a religion can consider marriage?
The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.

Students have never spoken freely amongst themselves since peer-pressure is prevalent at every school I've ever heard of. School promoted discussions about matters of conscience and faith should be carefully considered and restricted to mostly student oriented considerations. The health and safety of our students is paramount.

Peace through being the biggest bully never lasts and mutually assured destruction is a dangerous policy any way you look at it. Spending over half of our tax-payer dollars to line the pockets of Military/Industrial Complex executives irritates me.
EDUCATION
Every state should mandate K-12 standardized tests and the use of teaching software which aligns with Common Core standards.

I have tried to teach under a corporate supplied curriculum and can attest to the fact that most, if not all, of those programs are flawed. Many have a clear bias toward preferred teaching methods or materials that are not effective or even good.
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.

As a teacher I have seen the level of decision-making skills in many families and would not entrust our future society to those skills. A child's public education should integrate the future adult into society as a productive member and benefit to their fellow citizens and individual parents don't have an overview of the needs of our future society.
Before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL), they must opt-in with written parental permission.

From my time as a teacher, I have first-hand witnessed parents' depravities and sicknesses and the lengths they go to cover up their actions. Some of these children are so deeply controlled by their parents that they do not learn of the consequences of sexual acts or even that what their parents did to them were sexual acts until they learn actual Comprehensive Sex Ed. I will not enable pedophiles by not educating children about proper sex education.
I support the teaching of curricula (such as the 1619 Project, No Place for Hate, Second Step, etc.) that emphasizes slavery and racism as the foundation of American history.

I support the teaching of factual curriculum concerning our history and development. I was taught a false history as I child in Virginia and I am greatly disappointed in the Virginia Educational indoctrination I recieved.
The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.

Public Education should supply a nationwide common knowledge base that can bind our land into an undivisible whole and it should be paid by Federally collected tax payer dollars.

The founding fathers saw the problems with the Church of England and wisely separated our government from religious control of our society.
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.

I discourage high school students from being pressured to compete in sports to the level some might consider changing their gender to enable them to dominate the competition in any manner. When it comes down to it, I am not a fan of dedicating a significant portion of education funds to athletic competitions.

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.

I want children cared for. If emergency care is delayed while awaiting parental consent, children will suffer and possibly die. That is not acceptable.

I left the Republicans when the Tea Party took over. I spent many years as an Independent and even ran for Bent County Commissioner in 2018 as an Independent but the system will only elect R or D candidates so I am running as a Democrat.

I haven't got any. I'm not a politician, I'm an ex- Sailor, Teacher, Trucker, Mechanic, Store Manager, Inventor, and Renaissance Actor so I never had media reports or interviews. I believe in People Not politics.

No, I have never had a Felony or any accusations of sexual misconduct.

I believe in making decisions based on the impact to people, not politics. I believe all people are created equal with the rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. I support the American ideals embodied in the Charters of Freedom and will do all I can to support our American Democracy.

Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.

Schools need to be aware of any teacher with a weapon and ensure their training is up to date and their mental stability is maintained. The weapons must be properly secured from any other access by students, faculty or staff. There should be no qualified immunity for the teacher's actions with the weapon. Student safety is the greatest priority, regardless. I am a gun enthusiast myself and practice and train regularly.

Yes. There are many diseases that are blocked by vaccinations that would cause much suffering if left unchecked. The health and safety of our children is paramount.
